A Derailed Man.

The Flying Scotsman...

Kyo's eyes skim the hastily-scribbled note her father left for her at reception as she gets into her car, apparently the raven had to head out to see Teach whilst she was conversing with Lotte and since he didn't know where she was nor have time to look for her, he simply chose to leave her a note - which Perona forced on her once the pinkette saw her.

It tells of an old steam train named The Flying Scotsman that is no longer in commission, it has been dismantled and bought overseas but there's no further use for it so the station master got in touch with Mihawk and wishes to donate the train, or at least parts of it to the museum, for a price.

Naturally Mihawk is very interested in this exhibit despite not caring much for trains, this one is one of the most famous trains in the world and almost a century old, he thinks it'll bring in many new guests.

But the redhead has to move fast since it's being held at Euston Station, which is quite a journey away and has a closing time, it's a railway station especially made for steam trains and many of them are still running to this day.

Her phone vibrating in the passenger seat and drawing in her gaze as she starts the engine.

Sabo:

"Have you seen Thatch anywhere? He went out last night and hasn't returned yet, we're getting worried about him."

She wastes no time in replying to that message since she hasn't a clue where the brunette is and she's in quite a rush, besides she believes if he gets a message it'll likely get his hopes up, only to disappoint him when he ultimately sees it's just her saying she hasn't seen him.

The girl reversing out of her spot before moving on, her phone vibrating once again but she waits until she's stopped at a red light before taking a swift glance at the new text.

Law♥:

"How are your legs feeling now?"

Her attention immediately diverting back to the road as the lights begin to change, a small smile tugging on her lips, luckily for her the stiffness doesn't effect her driving. Though she's unsure whether Law really cares about her aches and pains or whether he's just asking about them so that they have something to talk about.

Whatever the case, it's pretty cute behaviour nonetheless.

Her smile soon fading when she sees a person laying on the side of the road however, her pale fingers turning the steering wheel slightly to ensure she avoids the man although as she passes, she catches a glimpse of his face and realizes just who it is.

You've got to be joking me.

Begrudgingly, she pulls up on the side of the pavement just ahead before getting out of the car and making her way over, kneeling down beside him and gently shaking his shoulder.

"Thatch...?"

He looks awful; his brown hair is flat and tousled, his face is covered in dirt and sweat, there's a piece of what-looks-like vomit stuck to his goatee and there's large bags underneath his eyes but he doesn't appear to have been hit by a car at least and he's breathing just fine.

Did he just pass out here?

"Thatch!" He at least grumbles in response to that, a car beeping at the pair as it drives past, causing the redhead to lazily flip them the bird whilst Thatch thankfully jolts awake, the male shooting up with widened eyes.

"I should apologish!" His sudden slurred comment immediately confusing the girl, her brow quirking as she pulls his arm over her shoulders, a sigh escaping her lips as she tries to drag him out of the road - with much difficulty since she's small compared to him.

"What on earth happened to you? You're a mess!"

"I wash drinkin' with a nice couple~!" The man clearly still out of it as he leans his full weight onto the girl, seemingly taking no notice of the fact that she's struggling, his head hung low and his legs shaking beneath his weight. "Thuy gave me a gud drink, they callsed it 'The Irish Warrior'~! It wus wild, I don't 'member much after drinkin' that~!"

"Clearly." The redhead bitterly mutters, finally managing to drag him toward her car, although he collapses straight back on his ass when she lets go of him in order to open the passenger door, though after he leaned his whole weight on her, she finds herself feeling less than sympathetic toward any injuries he might have sustained in the fall.

"Has shu seen my wallet?" He drunkenly asks whilst weakly patting his pockets, earning a mere 'no' in return as Kyo puts her phone and the note her father left her in the glove compartment, closing it before turning her attention back toward Thatch and shovelling him into the car with much difficulty once again.

This idiot...

Once he's inside, she has to fasten his seatbelt on his behalf before returning to the driver's side, exasperation already setting in as she reads the time on the car's clock upon starting the engine.

"I don't have time to take you home or to babysit you until your brothers get here so you're coming with me to the train station, then I'll drive you back to Newgate's, don't touch anything and do not vomit in my car." She calmly informs, checking her mirrors before beginning to pull away from the curb, the brunette lightly swaying in his seat with half-lidded eyes.

"I don't like thish movement!" He blurts, immediately opening the glove compartment and fumbling through it, knocking things out onto the floor in the process, much to the redhead's dismay since she can only hear what he's doing, her eyes still too focused on the car in front of her to look at him.

"What are you doing?! I said don't touch my stuff!"

"I need uh bag, I feel shick!" He has been in the car for a total of 30 seconds and she already wishes she had just left him on the side of the road, a huff escaping her lips as she presses a button embedded in the driver's door, causing the passenger window to roll down.

"I don't have a bag, just throw your head out of the window and--"

"NO WAY! Has shu ever sheen Hereditry? Kid'sh head got hit clean off~!" Thatch's words finally beginning to pique the girl's curiosity, she can't help but wonder if it really was just alcohol this mysterious couple gave him, if he's missing his wallet and can't recall drinking anything else...

Could they have drugged and robbed him?

It would certainly make sense given his odd behaviour.

"No, I've never seen Hereditary." Kyo's voice at this point sounding emotionless as she enters the motorway, her orbs glancing at the glove compartment that Thatch had left open, spotting her phone pushed into the side before she returns her stare back to the road. "I don't suppose you're in any state to make a phone call, are you?"

I should inform Sabo that his brother is alive...

"Ghostbushers~?"

"...Nevermind."

She instead decides to just leave him be, her focus glued to the road, she can hear him rustling through the glove compartment again but she takes no notice of that.

It's only when the car suddenly screeches to a stop in the middle of the motorway, throwing her forward in the process and getting her angrily beeped at once again, she realizes that was a mistake. Finally looking in Thatch's direction, she sees that he's pulling the handbrake up with a curious expression on his face. Her own hand swiftly swatting his away as she pushes the lever back down, a face-melting glare in her eyes as she hastily changes gear in order to stop the car from stalling before continuing, completely ignoring the car honking behind her as her fiery gaze finally meets Thatch's stare.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! Just stop touching things!" She doesn't miss how he flinches at her yelling, his hands cupping his ears as he rumbles something incoherent under his breath, her eyes focusing back on the road as she speeds toward her exit from the motorway, a sense of relief washing over her as she spots the railway station in the distance at least.

This fool almost gave me a heart attack.

But at least he's quiet for the rest of the journey, more or less.

The redhead finally pulling up in the station's carpark, pulling the handbrake up and rocking in her seat gently to make sure the brunette hadn't broken it before she takes her keys and opens her door. "You stay here." She simply hisses before stepping out of the car, slamming the door behind her and hastily making her way into the station with a frown etched into her features.

Upon entering the old-fashioned building, she's greeted by a large lady with long greeny-blonde frizzy hair wearing a purple uniform and a hat labelled 'station master', admittedly the woman wasn't what she was expecting at all.

"Hello, Miss Dracule?" The lady politely chimes upon holding her hand out for Kyo to shake, a smile on her lips as the redhead clasps her limb, allowing her to introduce herself formally. "I'm Kokoro, and who's this~? Your colleague or partner~?"

"My what?" Kyo's eyes filling with confusion as she follows the woman's gaze, glancing over her shoulder to find Thatch wobbling up to them both with a fascinated grin on his face, somehow managing to bump into a pillar along the way.

For crying out loud!

"I told you to wait in the car!" Her voice sounding as harsh as a banshee's by this point, the brunette stops in his tracks at least, staggering on the spot for a second before he turns and heads back outside. "I'm...sorry about him, Ms. Kokoro, he's my friend and is in a bit of a...state right now."

I'll kill him before long, I swear.

"Oh, we've all been there." The blonde lady otherwise known as Kokoro giggles, leading the redhead over to a large caged off area on the tracks, the unique train sat inside with some of it's parts scattered around it. It's a beautiful piece of machinery, she can say that for sure, her eyes observantly reading the name engraved on the train's front.

The Flying Scotsman.

It's body is green so it's likely the real thing, people don't often forge trains after all.

"Hm...okay, we'll take it but I can't transfer it myself, not today. I'll send somebody to collect it tomorrow." In truth she's not too good with trains so she'll be sending Drake to pick it up, he's a bit of a nerd with these things so he'll know what to look for in order to authenticate it.

"Very well, and payment?"

"Once the train has been transferred, we will send your payment electronically."

They must make sure she isn't ripping them off after all.

"Hmph, alright then." The blonde hesitantly responds, judging by the slightly distrusting look in her eyes, one might assume that she doesn't often work with Mihawk since everyone who does knows he is a man of his word. "So that's it? We're done?"

"Yes, we're done. Thank you, Ms. Kokoro." And with that Kyo takes her leave, eager to get back to her disorderly friend, though upon making her way outside and beginning to head for her car, she notices that he's not inside it nor is he waiting in the carpark anywhere.

...I should just abandon him, he's nothing but a pain in the ass anyway.

Despite her thoughts, she still begins to wander around the carpark, eventually circling around the station as her eyes scan the area. The sun is beginning to set so everything seems to have a slightly orange tint which makes spotting a singular man very difficult.

It's only when her stare travels along the tracks she spots him; her heart stiffening inside her chest as she watches the fool staggering across the railroad, and amongst the trees a small distance away is moving smoke, indicating that a steam train is on the approach.

Oh my god.

"Thatch!" The brunette doesn't seem to respond to her call, urging her to jump down onto the tracks herself before sprinting toward him, the man seemingly stopped on the bridge. It's only as she gets closer she sees that his foot is actually stuck underneath one of the wooden planks. "Unbelievable!"

"Ish a bootful shunset, ain't et~?"

Both of her hands instantly clutching at his leg on impulse and harshly pulling, trying to tug him free whilst her orbs glance up briefly to see where the train is, an action she regrets immediately when she sees how rapidly it's approaching the bridge they're on, the vehicle's horn sounding but it doesn't seem to be stopping - not that it could regardless.

"Wiggle your foot, Thatch!" The girl snaps once again as her focus shifts back down to his limb, the brunette seemingly not even trying to free himself however. "Twist your leg! Do something!"

"No, it wants tuh stay~!"

Idiot!

Despite his uselessness, she still manages to tug him free but they certainly have to no chance of escaping the bridge, the train mere feet away and very swiftly closing in, even the conductor had closed his eyes, afraid of the sight he's about to behold.

The redhead making a split-second decision to shove the brunette as well as herself into the bridge's railing, a strong and harsh wind hitting their backs as the train narrowly avoids them both and her heart practically rattling inside her chest.

She's certain she saw glimpses of her life flash before her eyes in that very moment, still holding the drunken (or drugged) fool in place until the train is a fair distance from them before she slowly pulls away with wide eyes and dilated pupils, her face more pale than ever whilst Thatch carelessly giggles and attempts to hug her but this only snaps her out of her shock.

"Don't you dare fucking touch me!" Her voice sounding more like a screech at this point as she roughly grabs the male's shoulder and pushes him across the bridge, back into the direction from where she came. It isn't like her to use language as vulgar as this but in her defence, she almost just got hit by a train. "Get off the tracks!" Her legs feeling stiffer than ever as she sluggishly follows the brunette off the bridge, her hands shaking like mad against the fool's spine. "Hurry up! I-I'm never helping you with anything ever again!"

"Shorry Kyo~!"

"Shut the hell up and move!"

This is what happens when you're nice to people.
