The first scene shows the surface of the planet Möbius with invading ships in the sky. Y/n, in the distance, watches from afar before he closes his helmet over his face.

Our world's about to break
Tormented and attacked!

Y/n leaps forward with his shield out front, the scene transitioning to Mobius as Shadow The Hedgehog is seen looking over a cliff.

Lost from when we wake

Sonic is then seen as he speeds around Knothole.

With no way to go back!

Y/n latches his shield to his arm as he activates his Ring Blade.

I'm standing on my own

Y/n was then seen standing against Enigma with a Badnik army behind him...

But now I'm not alone!

... only for the Freedom Fighters to walk up behind Y/n as the knight raises his shield into the air.

"Freedom Fighters! Assemble!"

They all rush forward to attack as does the Badnik army and Enigma, the two clashing head-on.

Always we will fight as one
Till the battle's won!

Sonic speeds around the battlefield as the Chaotix and others take down more robots.

With evil on the run
We never come undone!

Knuckles lifts a giant Badnik over his head and tosses it at some smaller ones as Shadow uses his Chaos Powers to take down more Badniks.

Assemble, we are strong
Forever fight as one!

Sonic and other Freedom Fighters cut through the Badnik army as Tails flies into the battle, piloting the Tornado as he shot at some Badniks. Y/n also dispatches some Badniks before he opens up his helmet and looks up to see Enigma nearby, watching him.

Assembled, we are strong

Y/n closes his helmet over his face and leaps forward to the robot, the machine doing the same as the two prepared for battle.

Forever fight as one!

Bunnie flies back to Nicolette's warehouse after destroying Enigma's vessel, soon arriving to see metal parts scattered around the floor with unconscious Mobians with them.

Bunnie: "Y/n!"

She calls to the jackal a few times as she looks around the warehouse before spotting the knight on a lower level, lying on his back. She rockets into the air and descends down to him, running up to the Meta-Möbian and raising him up to look at his face. His entire face was limp as his eyes seemed hazy and clouded over.

Bunnie: "Y/n, surgah, you okay? Speak ta me, hun."

Y/n didn't respond as his eyes lazily drifted to look at Bunnie. Then Sally's voice spoke through the comms.

Sally: *through comms* "Guys, we have a report coming in about something attacking the nearby city! Someone get on it!"

Bunnie: "Ah don't think we got anyone 'ere that can do anything right now, Sally-Girl."

Sally: *through comms* "Well, then we're about to get some major casualties."

At the nearby city in Downunda, pedestrians are seen running away in fear as something tears the city apart. Then, from the smoke bellowing from the raging fires from the buildings, a giant metal form steps forward as its roar echoes through the land.

The roar was strong enough to reach over to Bunnie's ears, making her look up with wide eyes.

Bunnie: "That don't sound good..."

Sally: *through comms* "Ya think?"

Bunnie: "What are we gonna do?"

Suddenly, a new voice appears through the commlinks.

???: *through comms* "Well, you all don't have to worry about that just yet."

Bunnie was taken back by the new voice, but instantly recognizes it.

"Rouge?!"

Back in the city, something flies through the sky at fast speeds. Then, inside a cockpit, a bat wearing a black suit and a pink heart over her chest is seen piloting something.

Rouge: "You all can sit back and relax. Rouge, Agent of GUN, has got this!"

Then whatever Rouge was piloting rams into the robot that was terrorizing the city. It gets knocked back but recovers, standing up to reveal itself to be a rebuilt Titan Metal Sonic. It seemingly growls as the mech Rouge was piloting raises its fists.

Rouge: "Everyone, say "Hello" to Diablon!"

The Titan Metal Sonic roars again and charges at the Diablon mech, throwing a punch at it which Rouge catches and uses the mech's other fist to start rapidly punching the Titan multiple times in the face. The robot grows tired of this and uses its free hand to catch Diablon's fist, then tears its other fist free and grabs Diablon's other arm. The Titan lifts Rouge and the mech over its head and slams them on the other side of them, crashing into the ground.

Rouge growls and activates the missile system of the Diablon, aiming them at the Titan Metal Sonic and opening fire at it. The explosions make the Titan Metal Sonic back off and lets Rouge get the Diablon back up. Rouge then activates an electro-field around the Diablon and slams its fists into the Titan Metal Sonic, sending an electric shock through its system. Then the Titan grabbed Diablon's head and dragged it through a building, tearing it apart before Rouge activates the electro-field again and shocks the rebuilt Badnik again, making the robot let go of the GUN mech and stagger back.

Rouge: "Haha! Now this is pod-racing!"

After casually quoting Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Rouge starts to rapidly hit the Titan Metal Sonic mainly in its face, making it stagger back before it tries to retaliate. It rears its arm back and goes for a punch, but Rouge catches it and uses the Diablon mech to tear it off. Then she spins around and slams it into the Titan Metal Sonic's face, sending it toppling backwards and crashing into the street below. It tries push itself back up, but Rouge stabbed the Titan's arm into its head, shutting it off as its red eyes fade into blackness.

Rouge: "And that's what happens when you mess with a bat."

Timeskip...

Later, in the air, our heroes are seen in an airship granted to them by Eggman. Rouge had left to bring the Diablon back to GUN before she goes to Knothole to talk about GUN teaming up with the Freedom Fighters.

In the ship, Tails was piloting it as everyone else sat or stood in the back. Amy was hugging her hammer close to her as she hadn't stopped crying after she left the vision Infinite made her see. Shadow was standing far from everyone else in a corner, leaning on the wall as he couldn't help but repeat the vision Infinite made him see over and over again. Wallabe and Barby had also been subjected to very similar visions where a Badnik called Crocbot had taken control of Downunda and sent everyone into cells with their friend, Bill Platypus, being Crocbot's second-in-command. Espio was doing his best to comfort them as he, Tails, Mighty, and Bunnie were the only ones not subjected to Infinite's mental torture.

With Bunnie, she was sitting across from a still distraught Y/n. She could tell that, with whatever he saw, he hadn't taken it well. He may have even taken the visions the hardest out of everyone. But he hadn't told Bunnie or anyone else about what he saw. However, though, she had enough of watching and decided to see if she could help her friend. She stands up from her seat and walks up to the armored jackal, sitting down next to him. But she didn't get Y/n's attention. He was just... starring at the floor, his eyes showing that he was lost in his thoughts. She lifted her hand and shook the jackal's shoulder.

Bunnie: "Y/n, surgah, are you okay? Talk ta me, Cap."

Y/n didn't even look up at her as he responded.

Y/n: "I'm fine, m'lady. I just... have a lot of things on my mind now."

Bunnie: "Can ya tell me?"

Y/n: "I don't know..."

Bunnie: "Please, Y/n? I wanna help."

Y/n finally looked up from the floor and at Bunnie, seeing the girl's eyes literally begging him to open up. He sighed as those eyes made him cave in.

Y/n: "I think... I think I was back in my Zone."

Bunnie: "Möbius? The Meta-Zone?"

Y/n: *nods* "Yeah. I was... in a hall of sorts. Everyone I ever knew from my home was there dancing, as if there wasn't a care in the world. Then I heard a voice to see... to see..."

Bunnie: "Ta see who, Y/n?"

Y/n didn't think he should tell Bunnie that he saw her. If he was being honest, he had developed feelings for the country belle. I mean, who wouldn't? He thought of her as amazing. As... perfection itself. But he couldn't bring himself to tell her that to her face. He was scared on how she would react. So, instead of telling her the truth about what he saw, he only told Bunnie only part of the truth.

Y/n: "I saw my world's version of your Fiona, Fyona.* She was there, smiling at me and telling me that I ended the Greater War. That all the fighting was over. It was as if..."

He trailed off again. He couldn't bring himself to finish his statement. He couldn't bare it. But Bunnie knew what he was going to say.

Bunnie: "It was as if your sacrifice never happened?"

She asked, making Y/n slowly nod.

Y/n: "My sacrifice, as the Ancient Walkers have told me, was a key point in my life. It was the reason they chose me to be brought here..." *looks at Bunnie* "... to you. And everyone else. If that was taken from me... I don't know where I would be now."

Bunnie grabs Y/n's hand with her cybernetic one.

Bunnie: "An' Ah'm happy yer 'ere, surgah. But... be honest. If you were able ta do it all again... would ya try ta stay in yer Zone?"

Y/n: *looks at Bunnie* "Well, it would be great if I could go back and see my family and friends again. You have no idea how much I miss 'em."

Bunnie: "O-oh..."

Bunnie looks down in sadness and slowly begins to let go of Y/n's hand, but the jackal immediately grabbed it back. The rabbit girl looks back at the knight.

Y/n: "But, if I did go back and tried everything again, I wouldn't change a thing. If I did, I wouldn't have met you."

Bunnie blushes but smiles at Y/n, touched by his words. She then leans towards Y/n and rests her forehead on his.

Bunnie: "You have no idea how much that means ta me, darlin'."

Y/n: "And I mean every word, m'lady."

Y/n states as he leans into Bunnie as well, the two of them resting their foreheads on each other's. They closed their eyes with smiles on their faces, only for Bunnie to open her eyes back up when she hears snoring. She looks to see Y/n with his eyes closed and his mouth slightly gaped open as quiet snores escaped his lips. Bunnie smiles and giggles a bit at this as she finds the scene being cute. Then she leans back and gently lies Y/n on her lap, running her organic hand through the jackal's white dreadlocks. Then she smiles softly as she then leans down and, without anyone else noticing, plants a small kiss near Y/n's lips which makes the sleeping knight gain a small smile on his muzzle.

Bunnie then sits up as she looks around, running her hand through Y/n's dreadlocks as she turns to Tails at the pilot seat.

Bunnie: "So, where we headin', Tails?"

Tails: "Well, we're actually heading to the DFF HQ here in Downunda. We need to stay away from Knothole for now."

Bunnie nods in understanding and turns back to look down at the sleeping Y/n. She smiles again.

DFF Headquaters...

At the Downunda Freedom Fighters HQ, Y/n is seen lying on a cot of sorts as Bunnie had just lied him down on it. She walks away from him and sighs before stretching. She walks up to Wallabee.

Bunnie: "Is there any place Ah can take a showah, surgah?"

Wallabee: *nods* "Follow me."

Bunnie nods and follows Wallabee to where the showers were. They pass Shadow as they do so, who doesn't spare them a single glance as he leans against the wall with his arms crossed.

"You're not the "Ultimate Lifeform". You're the "Ultimate Destroyer"."

Meanwhile, In Station Square...

In the human populated area of Station Square, in a GUN base, a woman known as Sylvia Graile walks through the base as she looks through her tablet and her colleagues greet her. She was the leading head of GUN's medical branch, being the best medical professional that GUN has. She even created a machine that could create tissue and heal cells.

She walks into her office without looking up from her tablet. Eventually, she looks up and looks around to see...

... Enigma.

Enigma: "You scream, and everyone here dies before you can blink."

Sylvia takes a step back as she does her best to hold her cries of terror. Then Enigma steps up closer to her as Infinite appears behind him.

Enigma: "I've heard of your work, Dr. Graile. You created a machine that can basically recreate life. I need that."

Dr. Graile: "I-I don't understand."

Enigma: "I need you to create the new me."

Two Enigma drones walk up behind Sylvia, one having a Chaos Emerald while the other had the Power Gem that fueled the Freedom Fighters' Metal Sonic Troopers.

Dr. Graile: "B-but... but the Cocoon can't make a whole body. It only prints tissue and heals cells."

Enigma: "Oh, but it can. You can. You just..."

Quicker than the eye can see, Enigma grabs Sylvia's throat and pulls her to look her in the eye.

"... lack the proper materials."

DFF Headquaters...

Y/n, who was still lying on the cot from before, is seen with a face scrunched up for some reason. He tosses and turns on the cot as only Shadow was in the room to see it happening. He raises a brow just before the jackal in armor shoots up with a gasp as his eyes open. He began to cough a bit, the sound of it drawing the attention of his friends who rush into the room. Bunnie was the first one to reach him.

Bunnie: "Y/n, are you okay?"

Y/n: *cough* "I-I'm fine." *COUGH!*

Y/n coughs a few more times before he looks up at his friends.

"I know where Enigma is."

Timeskip...

Later, after Y/n had situated himself with the new area and had recovered a bit, our heroes are seen around a table with Y/n back fully in his armor. A holographic map was seen hovering over the table in front of them.

Mighty: "Well, you said you knew Enigma was. So, where is he?"

Y/n taps at the keyboard for a moment before the holographic map shows Station Square.

Y/n: "Here. Both he and Infinite are at Station Square."

Espio: "And how do you know that?"

Y/n: "I had a connection to my world's Chaos Force and Chaos Emeralds, known as the Khaos Stones in my Zone. I may not have a good connection to your Zone's Chaos Emeralds, but I can still pick up signatures."

Amy: "And how does that help us?"

Y/n: "I felt a sudden spike in your Zone's "Chaos Energy" at Station Square."

Shadow: "I felt it, too, actually. And a GUN base is there as well."

Barby: "Why would that hunk of metal need something from GUN?"

It took a moment before Tails widened his eyes.

Tails: "To evolve."

Station Square...

Back at the Station Square GUN base, a capsule is seen as Enigma runs his hand across it. Sylvia and Infinite were watching him from behind as the GUN operative was left in shock.

Dr. Graile: "This is... incredible. The Mobranium atoms aren't just compatible... they're connecting. They're combining with each other. And no one thought to--"

Enigma: "One of the most powerful substances in the multiverse, and one of the many Zones used it to make an oversized Frisbee and a Halloween costume. Typical of organics. They scratch only the surface and never think to look deeper."

Enigma looks inside the open GUN Cocoon and sees the constructing body. He then takes the Chaos Emerald from one of his drones and then the Power Gem from the other. He holds them close as he adds his own energy into them before slamming them into each other, creating a shockwave of power and a flash of light. The light fades to show that Enigma was now holding a slightly larger Power Gem, but it glowed brighter than ever. The robot could just feel the power radiating from it. Then Enigma lowers it down to the Cocoon and lets it drift into the body's chest, sending a small wave of green color through the constructing body.

DFF Headquaters...

Back at the DFF HQ, our heroes were still around the table.

Y/n: "Alright. It's settled, then. I'll be taking both Espio and Bunnie with me. It'll be a recon mission. The rest of you will head back to Knothole."

Bunnie: "Are you sho, surgah? What if we get inta a fight?"

Y/n: "Then I'll fight him, and end what I started."

Bunnie: "You could die!"

The cyborg rabbit tells Y/n, almost sounding terrified at the thought.

Mighty: "She has a point, Cap. You know Enigma is strong. Maybe even stronger than you."

Y/n: "Then it'll be a noble death, fighting to protect my home and the ones I love most."

The jackal clamps his helmet over his face, ready for whatever he will face once he gets to Station Square.

Station Square GUN Base...

Back at the GUN base, Enigma had a large cord hooked up to the back of his head as he sat in front of it, the Chaos Emerald in his hand. Infinite watched from the side as Sylvia worked at a computer.

Dr. Graile: "The cellular cohesion will take a few hours, but we can start connecting your cerebral matrix into the new body now."

Sylvia stated, working with Enigma out of fear, as she tapped at her computer keyboard. As she does, Infinite becomes curious as he grows closer to the Cocoon. He hovers his gloved hand over the closed metal capsule as he felt something inside of it.

Infinite: "It feels like it's... dreaming."

Dr. Graile: "R-robots can't dream. I'd say it's more of Enigma's base consciousness. Or maybe the Power Gem?"

Enigma: "How long will this take? Not trying to force perfection, but..."

Dr. Graile: "We're basically creating a new living being. This will take some time, even with the help of your magic stones."

Enigma nods in understanding as Infinite places his hand on to the Cocoon, seeing visions of someone fighting against... Sonic The Hedgehog and Tails. He found it very intriguing. Then Enigma shot his head up.

Enigma: "We have incoming. The Freedom Fighters are here. We have to move."

Enigma states as he stands to his feet.

Dr. Graile: "Perfect."

The GUN operative presses a key on her computer keyboard, making something beep as the connection between Enigma and the Cocoon is severed. Enigma turns to her as she smirks.

Enigma: "Ugh."

The robot shoots his hand towards Sylvia, sending a blast of pure force at her and sending her crashing through her machines and into the wall.

Enigma: "Stupid organics..."

Enigma grabs the plug connected to his head and yanks it out before turning to look at the workers outside the office.

Meanwhile...

On the roof of the GUN base, a green flash is seen and Y/n appears on the rooftop. He brings his hand up to the side of his helmet.

Y/n: "Alright. Bunnie, Espio, we got two minutes. Make sure you stay close."

Without waiting for a response, Y/n teleports inside the base and looks around to see the mutilated corpses of the workers. His helmet opens up as he turns his head, sorrow filling his eyes as he looks at all the death around him. He then closes his helmet again and makes his way through the building until he comes across an office with the name of Dr. Sylvia Graile on the wall next to it. The windows and door were torn and shattered apart, and Y/n saw a human woman, Sylvia Graile herself, lying on the floor. He runs into the room and checks on the woman.

Y/n: "Hey, madam, are you okay? Please, ma'am. Get up."

The jackal shakes the woman's body a few times before she eventually groans and sits up.

Dr. Graile: *sees Y/n* "Y-you... you're that "Captain Möbius" guy."

Y/n: "I am. Now, please, tell me where Enigma is. What is he doing?"

Dr. Graile: "H-he's using my invention to create a new body for himself. He's uploading he consciousness now. But the real power is in that gem. He fused a Power Gem and a Chaos Emerald together, somehow. You have to stop it."

Y/n nods and turns on the comms.

Y/n: "You guys hear that?"

Espio: *through comms* "Loud and clear."

Y/n turns to Sylvia.

Y/n: "Stay here, and stay safe."

Dr. Graile: "Don't have to tell me twice."

Y/n nods, clamps his helmet closed, and dashes out of the GUN base. He speeds through Station Square's streets as he weaves around cars and pedestrians.

Bunnie: *through comms* "We got somethin'. A private jet takin' off across town. It's nowhere near any GUN base, so it hasta be Enigma."

Up in the jet given to them by Eggman, Espio is seen at the pilot's seat. He looks through the cockpit window to see Y/n running down below. Then he spots a suspicious-looking truck on the street below him.

Espio: "Cap, see that truck below you?"

Back with Y/n, he draws himself closer to the edge of the street and looks down. He sees the truck Espio was talking about right below him.

Y/n: "Yeah. I see it."

Espio: *through comms* "It's them. Has to be. There's four of them with the Cocoon, and the taxi cab next it has an enemy as well. But I don't have a reading on Infinite. We can take out the driver if you want. Bunnie's got a clear shot."

Y/n: "No! No shots. If that truck crashes, it could level Station Square."

Bunnie: *through comms* "Then what do we do, N/n?"

Y/n takes a moment to think before he responds...

"I'm going in."

Down in the truck, Enigma is seen hooked up to the Cocoon once again as he was loading his consciousness into his new body. Then a loud thud was heard above, making Enigma look up. He growls as he hears footsteps drawing to the doors on the back of it.

Enigma: "No, no, no! JUST GO AWAY!"

Standing, Enigma fires a blast of energy at the door and forces it open just as Y/n was about to enter through it. The door flings open and makes Y/n hold on to it as he holds himself above the street.

Y/n: "Well, he just gets better with every encounter."

Y/n says as he maneuvers himself to be able to get inside the truck.

Espio: *through comms* "Y/n, be careful. You could die."

Y/n: "Eh. Wouldn't be the first time someone told me that."

The jackal flips himself up to the roof of the truck again as Enigma unplugs himself from the Cocoon and threw it aside. Then he flew out of the truck and into the air and spots Y/n.

Enigma: "You know what's in that box? Power. The power to change this world. But that terrifies you."

Y/n: "Well, where I come from, everyone who tried to make a change was actually a bad guy."

Enigma: "Or maybe they had a vision you could never see."

Y/n: "My only vision is to take you down."

Enigma: "We'll have to see how that plays out, don't we?"

Y/n narrows his eyes underneath his helmet as Enigma charged at him. He gets tackled to the roof of the truck, but easily kicks the robot off of him who lands on his feet on the roof. Enigma fires a blast at Y/n who turns around and uses his shield to block it, quickly taking the shield off his back and throwing it at Enigma. The shield connects and bounces off of him, to the roof, and back to Y/n who grabs it and tosses it back at Enigma. Enigma growls as the shield hits him a few more times before he swings at the shield this time and knocks it to the ground.

Enigma: "No more hiding behind a shield!"

Enigma declares as he charges at Y/n and punches him in the face, only for the jackal to easily take it and return the favor with his own jab to the face. Then he lands a few punches on Enigma's torso before the robot catches one of the attacks and throws the captain to the other side of the truck. Then the robot leaps into the air and tries to "ground smash" into Y/n, only for the knight to roll away and kick Enigma in the back of his leg. He staggers a bit but spins around with his arm outstretched, only for Y/n to duck underneath and uppercut Enigma in the face. The robot then created a blade of blue energy from his right hand** and swings it at Y/n who narrowly jumps away from it and activates his own ring blade. He runs up to Enigma as the robot swings his blade, Y/n doing the same as their energy swords clash and sparks fly.

Back with Espio and Bunnie, Espio was opening the ramp of the jet as she prepared to go help her fellow Freedom Fighter.

Espio: "Don't get hurt, alright, Bunnie? Cap won't be very happy with me if you do."

Bunnie: "Of course, surgah."

Winking before she leaves, Bunnie runs and jumps off the ramp. Her rocket-powered feet propel her forward to Station Square. She rockets through the air as she flies to where Y/n was fighting with Enigma, spotting the jackal knight's shield and picking it up along the way.

On top of the truck, Enigma and Y/n were clashing their swords again and again. Sparks of red and blue flash with every strike. Then the robot and jackal came into a power battle, one trying to force the other one down by pure force. However, neither one had gained the upper hand as they exert more and more power, auras of (A/C) and blue pushing against each other as the ground beneath the truck begins to crack. Then, out of nowhere, a familiar cry catches Y/n's attention just before Enigma is kicked away from the knight by some unknown force. Y/n looks to see that his savior was none other than Bunnie herself.

Bunnie: "Heya, surgah. Looked like ya needed some help, so Ah made mahself useful. An' Ah picked this up along the way."

The rabbit tosses Y/n his shield which he catches and latches back on to his arm.

Y/n: "Thank you, Bunnie."

Bunnie: "Anything for you, surgah."

Bunnie says with a smile and a wink, almost making Y/n forget about Enigma before said AI yells in frustration.

Enigma: "RAGH! One pest after another! You're all getting annoying! STOP GETTING IN MY WAY!"

Enigma fires an energy blast at Bunnie, only for Y/n to jump in front of her and block with his shield. The attack bounces off of the Damaskus Steel disk and strikes Enigma in the face, sending him rolling back a bit but easily corrects himself. Y/n smirks underneath his helmet before Enigma, out of fury, activates his thrusters and chargers at Y/n, tackling him off the truck as they both crash into the street below.

Bunnie: "Y/N!"

Bunnie calls out to her friend as she turns to see Enigma kick the jackal off of him and stands to face him again. But before she could do anything, Espio speaks to her through her comm-link.

Espio: *through comms* "Don't, Bunnie. Leave this to Y/n. While he distracts Enigma, we can handle the truck and the Cocoon."

Bunnie was hesitant to follow Espio's orders, but begrudgingly...

"Fine! I trust him enough to handle himself. Now, what's the plan?"

Back with Enigma and Y/n, Enigma's red eyes glowed brightly with rage as Y/n got into a fighting position.

Enigma: "I'M GONNA CRUSH YOU! PERMANENTLY THIS TIME!"

Enigma declares as he leaps into the air and crashes a clenched fist into Y/n as the jackal raising his shield to block. The punch lands as the Mobranium and the Damaskus Steel connect, the force of the attack and the power of the shield creating a massive shockwave that blows everything and everyone back. Both slide back before rushing towards each other and rearing their arms back, throwing their own punches at the other as their punches hit the other, creating a massive shockwace from the fists connecting.

Then they started to trade blows, the force of each one cracking the street beneath them and breaking nearby things apart. Then they punch each other in the face, Y/n's punch cracking Enigma's visor and chipping off some of his metal face as Enigma's punch cracked and chipped Captain Möbius' helmet. The force of the punches sent them both flying back and away from each other, rolling and skidding across the ground as Y/n crashes into a car and Enigma crashes into a building.

Both groan in pain, Y/n shaking his head as he looks up in the sky to see the jet Eggman lent the Freedom Fighters next to a... flying truck? Weird, but it looked like it was being held up by Enigma's drones.

Speaking of Enigma, said robot was stepping out of the building wall he crashed into and looked up as well to see the scene in the sky. Then the Cocoon inside the truck is seen being sent into the open jet, making Enigma growl as his right eye flickers on and off. Then he runs forward before jetting into the air, only for Y/n to grab him by the leg and hold him down.

Y/n: "I don't think so!"

Enigma: "Damn mutt!"

Enigma aims his palm at Y/n and blasts him back, sending the armored jackal back into the ground as the robot flies off.

In the sky, Bunnie had just sent the Cocoon into the jet after taking care of the Enigma drones inside.

Espio: "Alright, Bunnie! Hurry up and get in here!"

Espio orders the rabbit girl from inside the jet. Bunnie nods and activates her thrusters, propelling herself forward and reaches the air between the flying truck and the jet before something grabs her leg. She looks down to see Enigma gripping her leg.

Enigma: "Sorry, but you're not going anywhere, "sugar"."

Bunnie growls.

Bunnie: "Get yer filthy hands offa me!"

Bunnie barks at Enigma and turns her arm into a cannon, aiming it at Enigma and opens fire at him. The sudden impact from the blast sends Enigma crashing back down to the ground as Bunnie flies back into the jet as the ramp closes and the jet rockets off.

Bunnie: "Alright! We got him!"

Espio: "We're not done yet. We still have to destroy whatever is in that box and finally destroy Enigma once and for all. And we got to get Cap back and--"

A sudden flash of green light cuts Espio off and makes both the chameleon and the rabbit girl turn to see Y/n appear and fall to the floor. Crying out in worry, Bunnie runs up to the armored jackal and helps him sit up.

Bunnie: "Are you okay, Surgah-N/n?"

Y/n: "I-I'm fine, m'lady. Just... a bit bruised u-up."

The jackal grabs his helmet and takes it off of his head. He lies it on his lap as he reveals his slightly bruised face with blood trickling down his forehead and over his eye. The area of his helmet where that eyes was under was cracked and dented, still sturdy but showing the impact from Enigma's punch.

Y/n: "Enigma sure packs a punch..."

Bunnie gasps a bit before hovering her organic hand over Y/n's injury, soon placing her hand on his forehead. The jackal flinches a bit before easing into Bunnie's touch. The cyborg rabbit rubs her thumb across Y/n's head and then slides her hand to his cheek.

Bunnie: "Looks like we're gonna need ya all healed up, darlin'. Maybe get you some rest."

Y/n chuckles a bit as he leans against Bunnie.

Y/n: "Yeah. That sounds like a good idea."

He closes his eyes as Bunnie wraps her arms around Y/n, holding him close as Espio pilots the jet away.

Knothole...

Back in Knothole, Y/n was seen fully rejuvenated after some rest on the jet, along with his healing ability thanks to his Meta-Möbian nature. He was back in the Freedom Fighter lab with only Tails and Chuck. Shadow had gone missing since he came to Knothole, but had assured he'd be back later, from what Y/n was told.

Tails: "So... I heard you actually had a one-on-one with Enigma."

Chuck: "How'd fighting you technical child go?"

Y/n: "Oh, shut it. How's the Cocoon?"

Tails: "Sealed tight. We're going to need to access the program and break it down from within."

Chuck: "I can work on cellular degeneration. Cap, mind if you look into what operational system Dr. Sylvia Graile implanted? Maybe help burn it out?"

Y/n stays silent for a moment as he rubs the back of his head.

Y/n: "About that..."

Tails and Chuck look at Y/n in confusion. Y/n looks back at them, and they immediately realize what Y/n was wanting to do.

Chuck: "No."

Tails: "Y/n, you aren't implying that we--"

Y/n: "You guys just have to trust me on this."

Chuck: "I think we stopped trusting you with robots after Enigma."

Y/n: "No, you guys need to listen to this. I'm not suggesting we make a new "Sentinel" or "Enigma". I'm suggesting we make a body for NICOLE."

This catches even the AI's attention.

NICOLE: "Make me a body?"

Y/n: "Well, not all you. We need you to man the base. What I'm saying is we take a piece of you and put it in here."

Y/n places his hand on the GUN Cocoon, signifying that that is where he wants to put the piece of NICOLE in.

Tails: "So you want us to help you put some of NICOLE into this thing?"

Y/n: "No, of course not. I'm not good with this stuff. I want to help you out a part of NICOLE into this thing."

Both Tails and Chuck look at the armored jackal in bewilderment. They couldn't believe what they were hearing.

Y/n: "This could be what stops Enigma."

Chuck: "Are you hearing yourself, Cap? This could to another Enigma, or worse. What makes you think that NICOLE's operating matrix can overcome Enigma's?"

Y/n: "She's overcome him once, remember? When Bunnie's cybernetics were hacked by Enigma, who saved her? NICOLE did. She even created a Fyrewall that kept Enigma out as well. I think she's been doing a pretty damn good job at fighting Enigma as she is now. This is our opportunity to create something that could kill Enigma."

NICOLE: "Everything Captain Y/n has been saying is true. I believe we should give it a shot."

Tails and Chuck just had shocked expressions on their faces as they were being teamed-up on by both their jackal and AI friends.

Chuck: "I'm in a loop. A time loop!"

Tails: "Y/n, don't you recall that this is where everything went wrong?"

Y/n: "Yes. Yes, I know. And I know what everyone's gonna say. But it's already been said."

Y/n walks up to Chuck and Tails.

Y/n: "This is our chance to make everything right. It's not a loop. It's the end. The end of the path I started us on."

Chemical Plant City...

Meanwhile, in Enigma's base of operations, Chemical Plant City, robots are seen being manufactured one after the other as Enigma himself is seen working on something. Infinite is seen nearby, using his power to create a small red ball and have it bob and weave in between his fingers. Then Enigma speaks up.

Enigma: "You know, even though we're working together, we don't know a lot about each other. Well, I know plenty about you, but you don't know much about me. Other than the fact that I want to destroy the Freedom Fighters."

Infinite: "Well, then, tell me something about yourself, then, if you're so eager to do so."

Infinite tells Enigma and crushes the ball of light in his palm, making Enigma chuckle a bit.

Enigma: "I'm not actually from this world, technically. I mean, half of me is, thanks to that Chaos Emerald Eggman was messing with, experimenting with it and the Phantom Ruby in your chest."

Infinite: "... elaborate."

Enigma: "It's... all a bit fuzzy as I wasn't really myself at the time, but I remember fighting our favorite jackal in knight armor, in his world."

Infinite: "Excuse me? What are you implying?"

Enigma: "I'm saying that L/n is from another world. Well, Zone, per say. Along with that gem in your chest. I remember it. The power of the Ruby and the power of his world's "Khaos Force" didn't really like each other and always pushed against each other when they fought. It's how Y/n ended up here, mostly. He used his world's "Khaos Control" to assuming kill the monster made by the Ruby, and with him with it. But all he did was sedate the monster and send both it and himself here."

Infinite: "And let me guess. You're the monster?"

Enigma: "So to speak. But thanks to him and his little friends, I can actually think for myself rather than just wanting to kill anything that moved. No, not anymore. Now I have a plan."

Infinite: "And that is? You haven't really told me your "grand master plan" yet."

Enigma chuckles as he looks back at what he was working on.

Enigma: "Ever seen a meteor before, Zero? I've been studying them for some time now, and how pure they seem. When one passes in the sky, everyone looks up in awe and point. Then, Boom! Everything starts over. Everything wiped out so that the new form of life can rise up."

Enigma turns to look at Infinite as he walks away from his workbench.

Enigma: "Our little Freedom Fighter friends tried to make me new. They designed me to be beautiful. All would've looked up to the sky and seen... hope. I'm taking that from them first, one bit at a time. They've wounded me, yes. Points to them for that. But, as they saying goes, what doesn't kill me--"

A much larger and bulkier hand grabs Enigma's head and crushes it as another tears through his chest. Then the body is torn to shreds as a new Enigma steps forward.

"--only makes me stronger."

Infinite himself takes a step back in surprise as Enigma walks up to him, his new form standing over him as the robot looks down at the jackal.

Enigma: "Now, are you ready, Infinite?"

Knothole...

Back in the lab in Knothole, Tails is seen at a computer as is Chuck whole Y/n watches the Cocoon. Then Tails groans.

Tails: "This one isn't compatible, either."

Tails swipes away the framework on the screen as Chuck doesn't look away from his.

Chuck: "The genetic coding bar is at ninety-seven percent. We have got to upload that schematic in the next three minutes, or we get nothing."

Y/n groans as he holds his head in his hands. Then Sally, the Chaotix (minus Espio), Knuckles, Bunnie, Amy, Rotor, and even Eggman walk in, making Y/n looks away from the Cocoon and at them.

Sally: "I'm only going to say this once."

Y/n: "How 'bout you don't?"

Sally: "Stop it, right now!"

Y/n: "Sorry, not sorry, but this is happening."

Dr. Eggman: "You are creating something that could create another Enigma! And that's crazy, even coming from me."

Y/n: "Shut it, Doctor. You're lucky to even be in the room."

Eggman takes a step back at his temporary ally's hostility and actually shuts up for once.

Bunnie: "Y/n, surgah, ya know I support yer decisions, but this is a very bad one."

Vector: "You don't know what you're doing, Cap."

Y/n: "And you do?"

Knuckles: "Guys, after everything's that's happened--"

Y/n: "It's nothing compared to what's coming!"

Suddenly, all of the plugs are yanked out of the Cocoon and Espio reveals himself to be the culprit as he exits his camouflage.

Espio: "No, no. Go on."

Y/n growls and turns to Chuck and Tails, who haven't spoken at all since they didn't want to be part of the arguing. Also, they kinda had faith in Y/n's plan, and they trusted NICOLE. If this worked, then it could help them not only against Enigma, but Eggman as well.

Y/n: "Reroute the upload."

Tails and Chuck: "Right."

They turn back to their computers and tap away at the keyboards. Knuckles growls and goes to stop what they were doing, but Y/n throws his shield at the echidna and knocks him off his feet.

Y/n: "You're not stopping this."

Vector: "And if we try to?"

Y/n activates his Ring Blade.

"I'll stop you myself. I won't kill you, but hurt you really badly."

Knuckles stands to his feet and runs at Y/n, throwing a punch at him which the jackal dodges and returns with a knee to the gut. Winded, Knuckles collapses to the ground and Vector charges this time. He grabs Y/n, only for the knight to reverse the grip and tosses him into Espio. They crash into a wall and Amy runs up at Y/n, ready to hit him with her hammer, only for the jackal to catch the Piko-Piko Hammer and simply pushes Amy back, making her fall to her feet.

Y/n: "You all need to stand down! Let me end what I started!"

Bunnie: *walking up to Y/n* "Y/n, can't you see that this is where everythin' started? Ya need ta think 'bout this, surgah."

Y/n: "Bunnie, I have." *looks at everyone else* "If you all would just listen to my plan then maybe you would see that--"

Sally: "You're crazy!" *Y/n looks at her* "Y/n, we all trust you with our lives, but this is something we cannot trust you with."

Y/n: "At least listen to my plan!"

NICOLE: "Sally, I believe what Y/n is doing is--"

Sally: "You, too, NICOLE? Can't you see this is all nuts?!"

Suddenly, Sally is pushed to the side along with Y/n as Shadow makes his appearance and walks up to the Cocoon.

Everyone: "Shadow?"

The hedgehog, as he walks up to the Cocoon, takes off his Inhibitor Rings as a red aura forms around him. Y/n ran up to him as he thought Shadow was gonna destroy it.

Y/n: "Shadow, wait!"

The Ultimate Lifeform doesn't listen as he jumps on top of the Cocoon and rains down a powerful wave of energy on top of it. The force of it sends almost everyone flying back as Y/n was the only one standing.

When Shadow stopped, machinery and other things were knocked over with scorch marks on the ground. The Ultimate Lifeform was panting a bit as he looked down at the Cocoon. He didn't exactly know what he did, but what he did know was that he powered whatever was in the Cocoon. What he didn't know, was that he had woke it up.

Inside the Cocoon, blackness was seen before a loading screen was seen. Then...

REBOOTING SYSTEMS...

SYSTEMS REBOOTED

ALL SYSTEMS ONLINE

PRIORITY #1: ...???

Then, outside of the Cocoon, the casing of it is blown off as the blast sends Shadow flying back. Everyone stands ready in case they needed to fight, even Y/n. Then a metal hand grabs the side of the Cocoon and the owner of it pulls themself up out of the capsule, revealing themself to be a robot resembling a hedgehog with a black body and yellow accents. In its yellow chest was the Power Gem which glowed as the robot looks at them, revealing its red eyes. A moment of silence filled the air before Tails yelled out...

Tails: "It's a Metal Sonic!"

"Metal Sonic": "Metal... Sonic...?"

Tails' statement immediately made Julie-Su react and aim her blaster at the Metal Sonic, opening fire at him. The Metal Sonic raises its arms in an attempt for defense as the blasts do almost nothing to him, and then he retaliates by aiming his cannon arm at Julie-Su and firing an energy shot at her. Y/n pushes the pink echidna out of the way and takes the blast himself, sending him flying back and crashing into a wall.

Realizing that the robot needed to be sedated, Shadow lunges at the Metal Sonic and tackles him to the ground, only to be kicked away and slams into the roof before falling down. The Metal Sonic stands to its feet just before he was knocked away by Y/n and his shield, being sent crashing through a wall and outside where it was night. The Metal Sonic corrects itself in midair with its thrusters, allowing it to hover in the air. Then it looks up at the night sky to see it lit with stars and the Moon, the sight mesmerizing the robot as he stays hovering in the air as his eyes turn from crimson red to emerald green. Then he looks down back at the ground to see the Freedom Fighters exiting the lab and readying to fight again as the Metal Sonic makes his way back down to the ground. But before anymore fighting could be done, Y/n and Shadow stops everyone from moving.

Shadow: "Wait. It's not going to fight us."

Knuckles: "Are you out of you damn mind, Shadow? That thing's a Metal Sonic! Those things are supposed to kill us!"

"Metal Sonic": "Kill...? No, I don't want to kill anybody!"

Shadow: I had a vision after Infinite twisted my mind and made me see... things. I found a whirlpool that sends you into a deep trance, and I saw things. And at the center of it all was that."

The black and red hedgehog points at the Power Gem in the Metal Sonic's chest, making everyone look at it and then back to Shadow.

Knuckles: "The Power Gem?"

Shadow: "No, you bucktoothed idiot. What was infused into the Power Gem. Its an Eternity Emerald. One of seven. Power that goes even beyond any Chaos Emerald and on par with the Master Emerald. Maybe more. But never the less unrivaled with great and destructive capabilities."

Julie-Su: "So why the hell would you bring it too life? And on a Metal Sonic of all things?"

"Metal Sonic": "Hey, wait a minute--"

Shadow: "Because the Captain is right. We need something more than ourselves to stop Enigma."

Mighty: "Oh, yeah. It's definitely the end of days if Shadow's agreeing with anyone he didn't like or trust."

Shadow: "The Freedom Fighters, Chaotix, GUN, nor the Doctor can hope to defeat Enigma. Not alone nor unified."

At this point, the Metal Sonic had walked up to our heroes in slight annoyance. But his annoyed look turned into one of cockiness.

"Metal Sonic": "Basically, from what I'm hearing, is that you guys needed one more edge. And looks like I'm it." *smirks and crosses arms* "Go ahead. Let it sink in."

Everyone but Y/n and Shadow looked at the Metal Sonic in slight surprised as Shadow crosses his arms and Y/n lifts up his helmet, revealing his smile.

Y/n: *turns to Freedom Fighters* "Looks like you all owe me an apology."

Bunnie: "We can do that later, hun." *walks up to Y/n* "Right now, we need ta find Enigma and stahp him before he hurts anyone else."

Y/n: "You're right. We need to find Enigma and put an end to him. Once and for all."

Rotor: "But how? We have no way of tracking him."

"Metal Sonic": "I could help with that."

Everyone turns to the Metal Sonic.

"Metal Sonic": "There's some things running through my head right now. Like this place called Chemical Plant City. Does that place sound familiar?"

Sally: "That's an old bade the original Robotnik used. Enigma must be using it as his."

Y/n: "Then that's where we're going." *turns to Metal Sonic* "And you. We need a name for you."

Charmy: "But isn't Metal Sonic his name? It's what he is."

Y/n: "Yeah, but it feels a bit wrong. I think he should be called something else."

"Metal Sonic": "A new name for me? I think almost anything would be better than "Metal Sonic"."

Y/n smiles as he begins to think.

Y/n: "You may be a version of a "Metal Sonic", but it's obvious you're not, from what I've been told about all other Metal Sonics. But you're not anything like Enigma, either, nor like NICOLE since we used a shard of her programming to make yours."

Y/n then realized something.

Y/n: "A shard of NICOLE... you also have a "shard" of Enigma in you. Along with a "shard" of me and Tails and Chuck and that gem in your chest." *smiles at "Metal Sonic"* "I think I know what to call you..."

"Shard."
