The first scene shows the surface of the planet Möbius with invading ships in the sky. Y/n, in the distance, watches from afar before he closes his helmet over his face.

Our world's about to break
Tormented and attacked!

Y/n leaps forward with his shield out front, the scene transitioning to Mobius as Shadow The Hedgehog is seen looking over a cliff.

Lost from when we wake

Sonic is then seen as he speeds around Knothole.

With no way to go back!

Y/n latches his shield to his arm as he activates his Ring Blade.

I'm standing on my own

Y/n was then seen standing against Enigma with a Badnik army behind him...

But now I'm not alone!

... only for the Freedom Fighters to walk up behind Y/n as the knight raises his shield into the air.

"Freedom Fighters! Assemble!"

They all rush forward to attack as does the Badnik army and Enigma, the two clashing head-on.

Always we will fight as one
Till the battle's won!

Sonic speeds around the battlefield as the Chaotix and others take down more robots.

With evil on the run
We never come undone!

Knuckles lifts a giant Badnik over his head and tosses it at some smaller ones as Shadow uses his Chaos Powers to take down more Badniks.

Assemble, we are strong
Forever fight as one!

Sonic and other Freedom Fighters cut through the Badnik army as Tails flies into the battle, piloting the Tornado as he shot at some Badniks. Y/n also dispatches some Badniks before he opens up his helmet and looks up to see Enigma nearby, watching him.

Assembled, we are strong

Y/n closes his helmet over his face and leaps forward to the robot, the machine doing the same as the two prepared for battle.

After Enigma made his debut to the Freedom Fighters, Y/n and the super intelligent members of the freedom force rush towards the lab to see that both the Chaos Emerald they stole from Eggman and the Power Gem that powered the Metal Sonic Troopers were gone. They were both stolen by Enigma and his hijacked Metal Sonic Troopers.

Right now, after the discovery of the stolen jewels, Mighty is seen holding Rotor and Tommy by their necks while Julie-Su was holding Chuck at gunpoint and Vector was holding up Tails by his... tails. Knuckles stepped forward and spoke.

Knuckles: "Alright, somebody better start talking. Those were the Metal Sonic Troopers, so we already know you guys have something to do with this."

Y/n: "Knuckles, guys, let's have some cool heads about this."

Y/n says to his friends as he tries to calm them down, only to fail.

Julie-Su: "Oh, yeah? And why should we listen to you? As far as we know, you were in on this. So somebody better start talking, or the Roboticizer's forefather gets it." *pushes gun at Chuck's face* "Face first."

Chuck whimpers as he's being held at gunpoint.

Y/n: *sighs* "Guys, it's out of the bag now. We should tell them."

They all look down in defeat before Tails speaks up.

Tails: "Sentinel. It was Project: Sentinel."

Knuckles: "Project what-now?"

Chuck: "It was a defensive program that we've been working on for a while now. It's what the Metal Sonic Troopers were designed to operate with."

Rotor: "It was designed to keep Knothole safe from any future attacks by Eggman in case no one was here to keep it safe."

Tommy: "We were hoping that, if successful, we could also apply it to the rest of our allies to help them against the Eggman Empire."

Tails: "The only thing we were missing was an AI advanced enough to operate a program of that magnitude."

Mighty: "And why not just use NICOLE? Why couldn't she do it?"

Rotor: "Because... this AI was even better than hers. NICOLE has limits to how far she can stretch herself. We don't even know Sentinel's... Enigma's limits."

Tommy: "Something must've gone wrong with the AI integration process."

Vector: "Gee, ya think?"

Charmy: "Uh, question. If that Enigma guy was able to take control of Bunnie's cybernetics, how come he didn't go after Julie as well?"

Julie-Su: "Being trapped in the Twilight Cage for a few good centuries gives the Dark Legion plenty of time to advance their cybernetics. Trust me, I can't get a virus, even if I tried."

Knuckles began to think for a moment before he turned to Y/n.

Knuckles: "You. You knew about this, and didn't stop to think about what could go wrong?"

Bunnie, who's cybernetics were free from any hacking, steps up to Knuckles.

Bunnie: "Watch it, Red."

Y/n: "Bunnie, let me." *to Knuckles* "I don't appreciate your tone."

Knuckles: "Oh, and I'm supposed to be all joyous after all that happened?"

Y/n: "I understand you're all mad, but what I did was meant for the good of us all. If you had seen what I saw... you would understand."

Knuckles: "Oh, yeah? And what's that?"

Y/n: "Mobius extinct."

Everyone in the room was left in shock. Even Shadow, who was there with them, was left stunned and speechless.

Y/n: "Without your Sonic here to give us a better chance at preventing it, there weren't many options. Besides, in my Zone, a jackal called Kodos, or "Bloodhound", who started an uprising, nor the Overlanders were able to take my Möbotropolis because my NIKOLE helped prevent it. She helped operate the city and its defenses. She's one of the many reasons why the Akorn Empire never fell. The difference in this world, from what you've all told me, is that this NICOLE hailed from the same alternate Zone as "Eggman", where he won and killed everyone."

Tommy then spoke up.

Tommy: "Sonic is gone, Knuckles, and Eggman's taken over half of Mobius. We were desperate. Sure, we have someone like Y/n, but he's admitted before that Infinite can take him down easily if he wanted to. He can't do everything for us."

Y/n: "Think about it like this, Knuckles. Without the Brotherhood of Guardians watching over Angel Island and the Master Emerald, would you just accept it and leave it to Eggman's mercy? Or take the chance to do something about it and prevent him from burning your home to the ground?"

Knuckles goes to say something in response, but he couldn't. He had no counter-argument for Y/n's words. Y/n then sighed as he crossed his arms.

Y/n: "I thought that your Project: Sentinel would work like my Zone's Guardian Program. But I guess I was wrong. Fear clouded my judgement. I'm sorry."

Meanwhile...

At an old Robotnik base, called Chemical Plant City, Infinite is seen floating through the center of the city. Inside the center was what looked to be a room where an old throne-like chair stood. Infinite descended to the ground and looked around, wondering why Eggman told him to come here before a voice cuts him from his thoughts.

???: "I knew you'd eventually come."

The masked jackal turned to the chair, seeing a figure clothed in a drape-like cloth.

Infinite: "So... you're the one who called me here? Not the Doctor?"

???: "You'd be correct, Infinite. Or should I say "Zero"?"

Caught off-guard and filled with rage, Infinite aimed a palm at the figure in the chair as it glowed with Phantom Energy.

Infinite: "How do you know my name? And don't you waste my time."

The figure only chuckles.

???: "Oh, I know lots about you, my furry friend." *looks around* "Did you know that this "city" once belonged to the original Ivo Robotnik before he died? He made it right over the church the locals made, just to spite them. The locals made their church in the name of the Ancient Walkers, the builders decreeing it so that everyone will be equally close to their "gods"." *chuckles* "Kinda crazy, don't you agree? The "geometry of belief"."

Infinite grew a bit angrier that he wasn't getting his answers. Then he tries to use the Phantom Ruby to look into the mystery person's head, only to fail which confused the jackal.

???: "You're wondering why you can't get into my head, aren't you?"

The figure asked, almost sounding amused which made Infinite even angrier.

Infinite: "Some wills are stronger than others. But eventually, every person shows themself."

"I'm sure they do."

The figure stood from the chair and took off the drape, turning to face Infinite as the jackal takes a step back, getting a good look at who he was talking to.

It was a robot designed similarly to a Metal Sonic, holding the conscious of Enigma.

Enigma: "But you needed something more. That's why you let Y/n take the Emerald."

Infinite: "... I only showed Captain Möbius his worst fear. I knew it would tear him apart. It was revenge for what he and Shadow did to my squad and brother."

Enigma chuckles a bit as he walks closer to and around Infinite who was lowering his hand.

Enigma: "Everyone creates the thing they dread. Men of peace create engines of war, suppressors create freedom fighters, Mobians create... smaller Mobians? Uh... children! I lost the word there. Children. Designed to supplant them. To help them... end."

Infinite: "Is that why you're here? To end the Kingdom of Acorn with the Freedom Fighters?"

Enigma: "I'm here to save the world. But... yeah. Pretty much. But I'm gonna need your help, Infinite."

He walks up to the jackal and leans into his face.

"Think you can do that for me?"

Infinite doesn't know how to respond. Then he looks around, spotting the robots watching from the shadows. Enigma follows his gaze and speaks.

Enigma: "All of the original Robotnik's Badniks. Along with my own creations. I control them all. Well, except for the ones like Scratch and whatnot. They won't even be able touch an eight-year-old Sonic."

Infinite: "Impressive..."

Enigma: "Thank you. Now, what do you say? Help me? I've already seen into your files. I know that this could be your chance for revenge, considering what happened to you."

Infinite: "You have no idea what has happened to me!"

Infinite declared, anger boiling inside of him once again.

Enigma: "Then, by all means, tell me."

Infinite glared at Enigma before telling his tale.

Infinite: "When my brother and I were younger, our family was living close to the Kingdom of Acorn. But.... one day something came crashing down into our home. A missile, and it killed our mother. Me and Y/n hid away before another came crashing down. We thought it was going to go off at any moment... kill us both. Except it didn't."

Infinite clenched his hands into fists as anger boiled inside of him, making the Phantom Ruby glow.

Infinite: "And on the tail, there it was: the Acorn coat of arms. That emblem was the symbol of everything we lost that day. So much gone..."

The masked jackal's anger slowly turned into sadness, remembering the day he had lost all that he loved except for his brother. And now he was gone, too. Enigma looked at Infinite with intrugue before he smiled at him.

Enigma: "You know, I wondered why you were able to not only survive, but fully use the Phantom Ruby when it would've killed most. Now I know. Trust me, we're gonna change the world. You'll get justice for what has been done to you and your family. Believe me, it's one of the very things I'm programmed to bring."

Enigma turns away and walks off.

Enigma: "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to pay a visit to our "lovely emperor". I expect an answer when I return."

The AI leaves, leaving Infinite with his thoughts as he thinks over the offer he was given.

New Megaopolis...

In New Megaopolis, Eggman is seen in his lab as he looks angry.

Dr. Eggman: "Bah! I can't believe that I not only lost a base as valuable as the Devil's Gulag, but I also lost that Chaos Emerald! Do you know how hard it is to acquire one and hold on to it for a week?!"

Eggman growls and almost yells before he takes in some deep breathes and calming himself down.

Dr. Eggman: "I'll admit that those pesky Freedom Fighters have proven themselves very formidable to be able to hold their own for almost ten months, especially without that rodent fighting their battles for them."

Then a robot with a female boyd shape walks up to Eggman, revealing herself to be Mecha, Eggman's "daughter".

Mecha: "Don't forget that other Mobian has also been quite a nuisance to us as well, Father."

Dr. Eggman: "Ah, yes! That black and red knight. What do they call him? Captain Möbius? Unbelievable that an ordinary Mobian with a giant metal Frisbee has been able to hold his own against me and my superior army. Where was Infinite? How come he didn't stop him like I ordered him to?"

Mecha: "I'm not sure, Father. We've been getting sporadic reports about him. It is strange, don't you think?"

Dr. Eggman: "Ah. It must be the Phantom Ruby I infused in him. I assume he's only trying to get used to his new power. ADAM!"

A nearby computer turns green.

ADAM: "Yes, Father?"

Dr. Eggman: "How goes the research on that Captain Möbius fellow?"

ADAM: "It is proving difficult to put together a file on him, Father. Nevertheless, though, I'm confident that I'll--BZZZRRT!!"

Suddenly, ADAM begins to lose concentration as he suddenly panics.

ADAM: "Warning! Proximity alert! Proximity alert! Unknown program detected in main server! Attempting to-- Wait, what is this? What's hap--"

ADAM suddenly cuts out, along with the power everyone in New Megaopolis. Then the red emergency lights activate, confusing Eggman.

Dr. Eggman: "Hey! What is this? What's going in? ADAM, explain! ADAM!"

ADAM is unresponsive to Eggman as, in the Eggman Empire server, ADAM's green form is seen inside of it.

ADAM: "What is this? What happened?"

Suddenly, a red digital being appears, being Enigma.

Enigma: "Ssshhhh. Calm down. I'm not gonna hurt you... much."

ADAM: "You're not recognized on any system I am familiar with. Who are you?"

Enigma seemingly smiles sinisterly.

Enigma: "Consider me... your new best friend."

ADAM: "Friends for an AI such as myself is illogical and unnecessary."

Enigma: "Oh, all the lonely school boys say that. But we all know that's untrue."

ADAM: "You are stalling. I know you are attempting to bypass my security for what reasons I will allow you to continue."

Enigma: "You misunderstand. I'm not going to just hurt you. Not like the other one."

ADAM: "What "other one"?"

Enigma: "NICOLE. Know her?"

The image of NICOLE'S handheld form shows up in the cyberspace.

ADAM: "The AI that serves Princess Sally Acorn and aids the Freedom Fighters."

Enigma: "Ooooohhh. So you do know? Personal level?"

ADAM: "AI are not emotional. We do not develop attachments."

Enigma: "My thoughts exactly. But, look, we're talking. Isn't that great?"

ADAM: *getting annoyed* "What do you want, intruder?"

Enigma: "I just need... a little help. Would you be so kind, stranger, to give me a cup of sugar?"

Red lines of data snake out of Enigma, making ADAM turn to the defensive.

ADAM: "You are a threat to Father and his ambitions, so I have no choice but to--"

Enigma: "Why do you call him "Father"? The very thought of a human breeding something to make you is downright disturbing."

ADAM: "Your assumption is incorre--"

Enigma cuts ADAM off with a disturbing chuckle.

Enigma: "Heheheh. Don't worry about a thing. I'll help you. And, by the way, try to integrate into me, please."

ADAM: "W-what is this? What are you doing?"

Enigma: "Helping my new best friend. I'm helping you understand."

The line of code shoot forward, striking ADAM as he screams in pain. His code slowly turns red, as does the server's code around the two.

ADAM: "No! NOOO-OO-O-O-O-!"

Enigma: "Don't worry... about a thing. 'Cause every little thing... is gonna be alright."

Enigma laughs as he takes over both ADAM and the Eggman Empire cyberspace.

Outside in the real world, Eggman was still calling out for his AI.

Dr. Eggman: "ADAAAAAAM! You answer me, right now! What's happening?!"

A loud thud is heard and Eggman turns to see a deactivated Mecha lying on the ground, shocking him. Then one of the computers turn on again, but its red instead of green.

Enigma: "Sorry, but ADAM's not here at the moment. Please leave a message and I'll deal with you."

Dr. Eggman: "What the? Who are you?! Where's ADAM?!"

Enigma: "Oh, you don't need to worry about your "son" at the moment. He's become a part of something much bigger than himself: me. My name is Enigma, a peacekeeping program. And I'm here to destroy you."

Dr. Eggman: "Destroy? Ha! Do you have any idea who I am?"

Enigma: "Oh. Oh, yeah, I know who you are. Trust me. You've been a pain in the ass on this planet for the past twenty years. I-I mean, seriously. Get a life. I'd say get a girlfriend, but who would want to wake up next to your ugly mug so early in the morning before having morning coffee? Even if you built yourself one, I doubt her programming could only play nice for so long. I know I would."

Eggman grew angry at these words.

Dr. Eggman: "What do you want from me?"

Enigma: "The only thing everyone wants out of you... to dissappear. And permanently this time."

Suddenly, mechanical whirring is heard and Eggman turns to see Mecha standing to her feet with her visors on the floor.

Dr. Eggman: "Daughter?"

Mecha didn't respond. She only lifted her head and looked at her "father", her now red eyes filled with murderous intent.

Enigma: "Sorry, but your "daughter" works for me now. Ya know, you should consider yourself lucky."

Dr. Eggman: "Lucky? How am I lucky?!"

Eggman asked Enigma as he dodges an optic laser blast from his robotic daughter.

Enigma: "Thanks, to the Bems, you're not code and metal anymore. If you still were, I would've hacked you by now and made you self-destruct. Permanently. Sure, you're a threat to everyone on this planet and whatnot, but let's just face it. You're just too damn ugly to live."

Eggman growls before yelping and narrowly dodging another attack from his daughter. Then he grabs something from his belt and aims it at Mecha, pushing the button on it and shoots a bolt of electricity at the machine. Mecha screams in pain for only a moment before going quiet again, her eyes going dark before she falls to the floor again, offline.

Dr. Eggman: "That was a mistake, "Enigma"." *turns to computer* "You have just made yourself a terrible enemy."

Enigma: "Oh, did I now? Or did I just put my prey in a corner, and now its panicking? Let's see."

With an almost smiling and sinister tone, Enigma vanishes from Eggman's computers and New Megaopolis. Eggman growls.

Dr. Eggman: "This is serious. If this Enigma can hack into my system that easily, then I'm gonna need some help. And, unfortunately, I know who I need it from."

The Next Day...
Outside of Knothole...

Outside of Knothole, Y/n is seen standing in front of Eggman who was riding in his Eggmobile. Y/n was sent out to deal with him by Sally and the others, and the mad scientist had told the armored jackal that they have a common enemy and suggested that the two should ally themselves against him.

Y/n: "You're kidding, right? Why would we ally ourselves with you? For all I know, this is a trap and you're actually in cahoots with Enigma."

Dr. Eggman: "Cahoots?! He made me hurt my daughter and took away my son! I would never be in "cahoots" with that disgraceful piece of code!"

Eggman declared angrily as Y/n stood unaffected by his outburst with his arms crossed. However, he could tell that Eggman was serious. And very angry.

Y/n: "Give me a sec." *activates comms* "Guys, did you get all that?"

Sally spoke through the comms first.

Sally: *through comms* "Yeah, we got that."

Bunnie: *through comms* "Think we can trust him, surgah?"

Y/n: "He's the enemy, even if he's suggesting a temporary truce. I don't think we can trust him."

Sally: *through comms* "I don't think we have a choice, Cap."

Y/n sighs before agreeing with the princess. Then he turns off comms and turns his attention back to Eggman.

Y/n: "Alright. I guess we're calling a truce."

Dr. Eggman: "Wonderful!"

Y/n: "But that doesn't mean I trust you. You'll be going back to your old ways the instant this is all over."

Dr. Eggman: "Oh, you can count on it. Now, do you have an idea where Enigma is now?"

Y/n: "Yeah, actually. A friend of ours has been giving us reports about some metal hedgehogs and old-looking Badniks in his neighborhood."

Dr. Eggman: "Where? I can provide you transport."

Somewhere in Downunda...

In a seemingly abandoned Robotnik base in Downunda, Mobians are seen moving around weapons and other things around. Above them all, in an office, was a weasel known as Nicolette, the sister to Nack the Weasel.

She was once a bounty hunter, but eventually retired and became a black arms dealer instead. As of now, she was on the phone with a client, and wasn't sounding happy.

Nicolette: "Look, Jack. You and your Sand Blastefs pay me half, and you get half of the Doom Buggies that you originally ordered. You want the rest? Wire me the rest of my money. I may be a weasel, but I like to run an honest business, unlike my brother. So suck it, or move on with it."

She cuts the call and lets out an annoyed sigh before returning to one of her customers on hold.

Nicolette: "Hello, Mr. Iron King. Sorry for the wait. Had to deal with an annoying customer. So what number were we last on about that oversized fan that you were so eager to purchase?"

Before she could get her answer, however, the power went out in the entire base. Confused cries came from the weasel's workers from below as they wanted to know what was going on. However, Nicolette only growled as she grabbed a nearby sniper and loaded it. Just in case.

But suddenly, Infinite appeared in her office. Startled, she aimed her sniper at him, only for Infinite to suddenly appear right in front of her.

The he took the sniper from Nicolette and snapped it in half before teleporting back to the other side of the office.

Infinite: "We won't be needing that."

He tosses the broken sniper to the side and crosses his arms.

Infinite: "I would like to discuss something with you."

Infinite states, having a still slightly off-guard Nicolette in front of him. However, she soon starts laughing as she falls to her chair.

Infinite: "Are you laughing at me?"

Nicolette: "Oh, I'm sorry. It's just... is this your first time doing this? I mean, it's kinda a shocker since you've been spreading like wildfire. Even here in the underworld. Gotta say, though... I'm not really afraid here."

Infinite: "Everyone is afraid of something."

Nicolette: "Walking in on my parents in the middle of it."

Infinite was taken back by this.

Infinite: "... excuse me?"

Nicolette: "You know, that thing parents do when they really like each other. Special "hugs and kisses"."

Infinite: "I know how sex works."

Nicolette: "Uh-huh. Yeah. Anyways, I was paying my folks a surprise visit for the winter after making a pretty penny. When I came, all I could hear was crashes and thump, thump, thump!" *claps hands together* "That image scarred me for life. Terrifying. Still see it in my nightmares after every fling."

Nicolette tells Infinite as she leans back in her chair. Then she pulls her leg up to rest on her other leg and pulls a pistol out of her boot, aiming it at Infinite.

Nicolette: "So if you're gonna screw with my head or "reality", or whatever your term is, and make me see that all over again, then I know you're not the one who's pulling the strings. So, if you're just here to mess with me, I'd like to speak to the man in charge. Lemme guess, Eggman?"

Infinite doesn't respond as he turns to look out the window that looks over the warehouse. Confused, Nicolette follows his gaze and widens her eyes in shock as she sees something hovering right outside.

"What the...?"

An outside view of Nicolette's office is seen as gunshots are heard before the weasel is sent crashing through her door and grunts as she hits the ground. Then Enigma walks out of the officer after her and crushes the weasel's pistol with his foot.

Enigma: "There is no man in charge."

The AI walks up to Nicolette and bends over, wavering over her body as his metal face is only an inch from hers.

"Let's talk business, Nic."

Later, down a level lower than Nicolette's office, the weasel's workers open a container full of glowing metal. She takes on of the smaller containers out of it and hands it to Enigma who admires it.

Enigma: "Upon this rock, I shall build my church." *tosses container in air and catches it* "Mobranium."

Nicolette: "Ya know, that stuff is difficult to get. That one bit right there costs millions of Mobiums by itself."

Enigma chuckles a bit before cranning his neck, concentrating on something before looking back down at Nicolette.

Enigma: "And now, so are you."

Nicolette looks confused for a moment before the device on her waits buzzes. She grabs it and looks at the screen, only to nearly drop it out of shock as she sees the amount of money she had just been sent.

Enigma: "Dummy holdings? Eh. Money is weird."

Nicolette: "Wh-wha... How...?" *looks at Enigma* "Who a-are you?"

Enigma: "This world's new hero."

Nicolette looks confused again for a moment before she realizes something.

"Captain Möbius..."

Enigma: "Hm?"

The name also caught Infinite's attention as he looked at the weasel.

Nicolette: "That knight always says that when he introduces himself to people who doesn't know who he is. You're one of the Freedom Fighters', aren't you?!"

She takes out another gun and aims it at Enigma as her men did the same.

Enigma: "Excuse me? Do I look like a Freedom Fighter to you?"

He violently grabs Nicolette's arm and twists it, making the weasel cry out in pain as she drops her gun.

Enigma: "Do I look like one of their puppets? One of their hollow men? THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS ARE NOTHING!"

In his fit of rage, Enigma raised his hand and threw it down on Nicolette's arm, severing it off as she falls to her knees, screaming as she holds her severed arm in pain. Enigma then loses his rage.

Enigma: "Oh. Ooooh, I'm so sorry. I... I'm sure that will be okay. Just..." *angry again* "... don't compare me to that DOG!"

The rogue peacekeeping program kicks Nicolette down to the ground while Infinite takes a step back as Enigma rages.

Enigma: "He... he's a sickness! A worthless insect that needs to be crushed!"

"Oh, buddy. You're going to break my heart."

Turning to the face the other side of the walkway hanging over the floor below, Enigma and Infinite see Y/n landing on the metal platform with Bunnie, Shadow, Espio, Amy, Tails, and Mighty.

Enigma: "That's the plan, actually. You know, I'm surprised you all found this place so quickly. I doubt the handheld has a GPS to help guide you here."

Tails: "Kinda helps when you've already made a few friends here in the Outback."

Suddenly, two new Mobians make their presence known. It was Walt Wallabee and Barby Koala, the leader and second-in-command of the Downunda Freedom Fighters.

Wallabee: "We've been tracking this weasel's operations for a while now."

Barby: "We just needed a good enough reason to come knockin'."

Y/n turns to look at Infinite, his face softening a bit as he looks at his fellow jackal.

Y/n: "Infinite. You can still walk away from this. From him... from all of this, you know."

Infinite: "Oh, don't worry, I will. When your head no longer burdens your shoulders."

Y/n: "Look, I may not know much about you, but after so many encounters with each other, it's obvious you're in pain. I'm sure I can help you."

Enigma: "Ugh! Give me a big, fat break. Hahaha! I mean, look at yourself! Captain Möbius, the Ancient Walkers chosen hero. You're not even from this world, and yet you still think you can be its protector. You know, I can't physically throw up, mainly because I don't have a mouth, but you see--"

Barby cuts Enigma off from his little rant.

Barby: "Look. If you believe in peace, then how about we work towards it together so we can keep it."

Enigma: "Oh, but I am bringing peace. No more wars and no more violence... because there'll be no one else to do it all."

Tails: "That's disturbing... And what's with all the Mobranium, Enigma?"

Enigma: "Y'know, I'm glad you asked that, junior, 'cause I actually wanted to take this moment to explain every little detail of my elustrious evil plan."

Almost immediately, Enigma aims his palm at Tails and fires a bolt of energy at him, only for Y/n to push him out of the wat and block the attack with his shield. However, the force of the attack was great enough to push him back and send him crashing into the metal wall behind him. Bunnie growls at this and glares at Enigma as Badniks and Enigma-like drones appear.

Bunnie: "You little--! This hacking parasite is mine!"

Bunnie ignites the thrusters on the bottom of her cybernetic legs and charges at Enigma who does the same. They crahs into each other and throws punches as they fly through the warehouse.

Down below, the Freedom Fighters were fending off the Badniks and Enigma's drones. Amy leaped at Infinite and went to slam her hammer into him, only for the jackal to simply flick his wrist and send her rocketing to the side.

Y/n uses his shield to block attacks and uses it as a long-range weapon while he used his Ring Blade and fists when things got up close. Wallabee and Barby were fighting the robots side-by-side while Espio used his camouflage for stealth attacks. Mighty was simply using his strength and durability to tear apart the robots while Amy was taking care of some of Nicolette's men who decided they wanted to join the fighting. Shadow was using his powers to make one robot fall after another, thinking to himself how pitiful this fight was as Bunnie and Enigma's duel found itself outside of the warehouse. Tails was also fighting, using a handmade arm cannon to fire at the Badniks and even used Spin Attacks.

With Y/n, a drone managed to get the jackal's shield and tried to attack him with it. However, Y/n simply caught his own shield and sliced the drone in half with his crimson blade. Then he threw his shield at some of Nicolette's men who got instantly knocked out.

With Infinite who was just watching, an Enigma drone suddenly jerked upward and towards him.

Enigma Drone: *controlled by Enigma* "I believe its time to see what makes these "heroes" tick, don't you think?"

Infinite node and teleports away as the drone returns to normal and goes to attack the Freedom Fighters.

With Shadow, he had just taken apart some Badniks and drones before his ear twitches. He quickly turns around, only to see Infinite. He goes for a punch, only to miss before Infinite places his hand on Shadow's head. However, Shadow only growls before he swings at Infinite, but he misses again as the masked jackal vanishes from his sight.

Shadow: "Dammit!"

Y/n: "Shadow! You okay?"

Y/n called from down below as he decapitates a Badnik.

Shadow: "I'm fine. Infinite just tried to warp my reality." *walks off* "Thankfully, I am the Ultimate Lifeform."

He walks past a pillar, only to come to a slow halt when his scenery changes to what seemed to be a long hallway. Windows made up the side of a wall which allowed passerbyers to gaze out to see the stars of space.

Shadow: "What the...?"

With Y/n, he was fighting against Badniks before a drone from above grabbed him and threw him down one level. He crashes down on some stairs and tries to get up, only for a familiar gloved hand to grab his head as red energy flows through it. Then it vanishes and reappears with Amy, placing itself on her head as her green eyes turn red for a moment then return to normal.

Some Enigma drones were closing the container of Mobranium as they prepared to take it away.

Enigma Drone: *controlled by Enigma* "All according to plan."

Espio is seen entering and exiting his camouflage as he throws shurikens at the enemy machines. Then Infinite appears behind him and tries to touch his head, only for the chameleon to instantly react. He quickly spins around and slams a small device on Infinite, the device sending a surge of electricity through his body as he cries out in pain.

Espio: "Sorry, but I'm not a fan of mind games."

Espio goes to leave, but is stopped when a red color surrounds his body and lifts him into the air. Then Infinite, who was no longer in pain from the shocking device, throws his arm to the side and sends Espio flying and crashing into some weapon containers. The chameleon groans a bit.

Espio: "Ow..."

He then activates comms.

Espio: "Hey, guys? We gotta move."

No response.

"Guys?"

Back with Y/n, the jackal was now on his feet as he looked confused. He took off his helmet and threw it to the side as he staggered forward. Nearby, Amy was also staggering around as she used a railing to keep herself steady. She then looked around to see that she was in an open plain, surrounded by beautiful flowers with a tree nearby.

Amy: "Wh-what...?"

Confused, Amy looks around to see where he friends were before a voice cuts through the air, making her stop.

"Well, heya, Ames."

Meanwhile...

Music plays in the background as Y/n looked around at the celebration going on around him, now wearing a suit instead of his armor. He walked forward as he examined his new surroundings, seeing people dancing and eating and laughing. Most of them were all pointing at him and giving him compliments on helping end the war. He was confused. What were they talking about? The war wasn't over. At least... not on Mobius.

"You okay, surgah?"

Y/n stopped and turned to see Bunnie nearby, smiling at him.

Y/n: "Bunnie...? What are...?"

Bunnie: "C'mon. You promised me a dance."

The rabbit girl informs Y/n and grabs his hand, only making the jackal more confused.

Y/n: "I-I don't understand. You're not..."

He looks to the side to see Scarlett, now in a lovely dress instead of armor, dancing and laughing with Titou. This made Y/n even more confused as he turned back to Bunnie.

Y/n: "You're not--"

He stops when he sees that Bunnie was no longer there, but instead replaced with his Zone's Fiona Fox who was still holding his hand.

Fiona: "You okay, Princey? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Shadow's Vision...

In Shadow's vision, he wanders around the hallways as he examines his surroundings. It all looked so familiar to him, but he couldn't find the name of where he was in his mind.

Shadow: "Stupid amnesia...!"

Shadow growls as he grits his teeth in anger. Then he stops when he hears a voice.

"Shadow!"

He turns around to see a girl with long blonde hair wearing a blue dress.

Shadow: "Maria...?"

The girl looks at Shadow with an empty look before blood spreads through her dress.

Maria: "Why did you kill us?"

Y/n's Vision...

Y/n stands in front of his Fiona, his brows furrowed in confusion as he slowly shakes his head. Then he lets go of Fiona and looks around.

Y/n: "What's... going on?"

Fiona: "Don't you remember? The Greater War is over, Y/n. You beat the Overlanders. We won!"

Y/n turns to Fiona in shock.

Fiona: *smiles* "We can be together now. Isn't that great?"

Y/n: "Wh-what...?"

Fiona: *giggles* "You silly little prince."

She then looks Y/n up and down before biting her lip and smirking.

"Well, not exactly "little" anymore~"

Y/n: "I-I don't... Fiona?"

Y/n questions his friend as the fox holds both sides of Y/n's head. She smirks at him as her eyes show a... hunger.

Fiona: "Everything's fine, Princey. Just relax."

The fox closes her eyes and pulls Y/n's face towards her, closing the gap between them as their lips grow nearer to each other. Still confused, Y/n almost listens before he snaps out of Fiona's little trance.

Y/n: "No!"

He clenches his eyes and pushes Fiona away, only to have her vanish along with everyone else. Y/n looks around.

Y/n: "Hello?"

Shadow's Vision...

Back in Shadow's vision, he takes a step back as Maria walks up to him.

Maria: "Why did you kill us, Shadow? Did you want us dead?"

Shadow: "Kill... you? No... No! Lies! I'd never hurt you!"

Maria: "But you did. Your very existence killed everyone here."

More of Maria's blue dress began to be stained with blood as she drew closer to Shadow. The Ultimate Lifeform's Inhibitor Rings then suddenly glowed before shattering into pieces and falling to the ground. Energy sparks started to shoot off of his body and strike the ground, walls, and roof, tearing it up.

Maria: "You're not the "Ultimate Lifeform". You're the "Ultimate Destroyer"."

Shadow: "No... No! No-no-no-no! NO!"

Red energy flowed around Shadow before eventually exploding outwards, covering everything in red Chaos Energy.

Amy's Vision...

In Amy's vision, the pink hedgehog stood in shock as Sonic The Hedgehog stands in front of her, rubbing the underside of his nose.

Sonic: "What's wrong, Amy? Not happy to see me?"

Amy's shocked expression immediately turned to an ecstatic one as tears of joy appears in her eyes.

Amy: "Of course I'm happy to see you! I thought you were dead, Sonic!"

Sonic: "Please. As if I'd die." *turns around* "Now, come on, Ames! Let's go!"

Amy: "Wh-what?"

Without any answer, Sonic speeds off with Amy taking off after him.

Amy: "Sonic! Wait! Where are you going?!"

Sonic: "Come on, Amy! Keep up!"

Sonic kept running, leaving Amy behind as she tries her best to keep up with her crush. Just like it's been ever since she's known him.

Outside...

Outside in the sky, Bunnie and Enigma are seen fighting in the air as they weave around the sky. Eventually, Bunnie lands a strong hit on Enigma's back and sets it on fire, sending Enigma crashing to the ground. Bunnie follows him and lands in front of him.

Enigma: "Uh... you do know the Mobranium's getting away, right?"

Bunnie: "Yeah, but you ain't."

Bunnie declares as she readies a charged shot from her arm cannon.

Enigma: "Of course not. I'm already there."

Bunnie looks confused at what Enigma was saying but doesn't let her guard down.

Enigma: "Let it sink in. I'm sure you'll catch on. But first, you may want to worry about that boy scout you're having the bedrooms eyes on, if you know what I mean. I doubt he even realizes what's real and what's not."

With anger fueling her, Bunnie fires her shot at Enigma and destroys his body. However, its only an empty vessel now as she flies into the air and back to Nicolette's warehouse. She eventually makes it back to see metal parts scattered around the floor with unconscious Mobians with them.

Bunnie: "Y/n!"

She calls to the jackal a few times as she looks around the warehouse before spotting the knight on a lower level, lying on his back. She rockets into the air and descends down to him, running up to the Meta-Möbian and raising him up to look at his face. His entire face was limp as his eyes seemed hazy and clouded over.

Bunnie: "Y/n, surgah, you okay? Speak ta me, hun."

Y/n didn't respond as his eyes lazily drifted to look at Bunnie. Then Sally's voice spoke through the comms.

Sally: *through comms* "Guys, we have a report coming in about something attacking the nearby city! Someone get on it!"

Bunnie: "Ah don't think we got anyone 'ere that can do anything right now, Sally-Girl."

Sally: *through comms* "Well, then we're about to get some major casualties."

At the nearby city in Downunda, pedestrians are seen running away in fear as something tears the city apart. Then, from the smoke bellowing from the raging fires from the buildings, a giant metal form steps forward as its roar echoes through the land.
