The year was Universal Century 0079; humanity had taken to living in space colonies known as "Sides" once the Earth was vastily populated. Everyone was happy; that was until the inhabitants of Side 3 declared themselves the "Principality of Zeon" and attacked the other colonies that was controlled by the Earth Federation. And so began the One Year War...

The One Year War was the single largest and most devastating conflict in the galaxy, in both the number of military casualties, civilian deaths, and devastation across the entire Earth Sphere. Caught in the middle of the war was a young man called Amuro Ray; who discovered the outcome of the Earth Federation's top secret "Project V": a giant mobile suit known as the "Gundam". Joining the fight; Amuro waged a war not only with Zeon itself, but one of it's pilots: Char Anzable, the "Red Comet". It was battle that would last many years until the war was won in UC0080 with the signing of a peace treaty between the two sides.

Now the year is Universal Century 0096; 17 years after the end of the One Year war, Earth is still recovering from the countless attacks endured during the fighting. The Galaxy is in peace once more...

Until; a new enemy known as "Zeon X" appeared, once again plunging the Earth and it's people into war. And with Amuro Ray nowhere to be found following his final encounter with Char Anzable; a new hero must stand up to Zeon X and activate the power of the Gundam...
