In the Yiling mermaid territory of Erhai lake, Wei Wuxian is a very exalted mermaid. With his beauty that even transcended the mark of 'exquisite', he is a celebrated member of the Yiling mermaid clan.

It did not take long for the reaction he had expected to be thrown at him.

Wei Wuxian swam away and raised himself up from the water surface and displayed his gleaming scales. The partially cardinal scales accompanied by few patches of rust and black ones had created a blanket of plausible beauty that was embracing him exquisitely.

Glaucose cosmoid scales were embellishing his mermaid tail in a gleaming, winding fashion. The xanadu fins were fluttering like two alluring butterflies. Under the embrace of the soft sun glitter, his pale skin, as smooth as a mother pearl, rendered him with a breathtaking pulchritude.

However, Wei Wuxian's immense pride in his beauty began to falter with a pitiful quiver. His heart bled with every rejection from the Jade. Until he topples Lan Wangji's determination, the shame he has been inflicting on himself will never perish.

The Gusu Jade raised a questioning eyebrow, demanding an explanation.

Wei Wuxian flashed an enigmatic smile and ran his hand sensually along his shimmery scales. Latching himself like a silk cloth on Lan Wangji's leg, he muttered softly- " More than a man. Love?

Till now, Wei Wuxian was the one to play with temptation and use it as an intoxicating essence.

Oh how the tables have turned. He wants the Jade to come into the water and the other wants him to go up to the land. He and Lan Wangji were standing at two ending points of a bar. One needs to slide down to reach the other.

"Ah...you! You bastard. Let me go I said!" His pleas had little strength before the mighty Lan Wangji. He looked so feeble, so weary; like a little fish fluttering near a sea monster.

Propping his torso up, he bit hard on Lan Wangji's shoulder and slurped a mouthful of blood. Strength immediately bulked in his muscles and he clawed at the smooth and white skin of the Jade.

Lan Wangji only pulled him closer; keeping him glued to his body in a tight embrace, taking every painful cleave on his skin. Blood began to ooze out and littered the two blindingly beautiful bodies of the mermaid and the cultivator.

"If Wei Ying truly wants me to leave him, then why is he not poisoning me?" He said sedatedly and caressed the mermaid's body softly, kissing every stretch of skin lovingly.

Tears started pooling in Wei Wuxian's eyes and his lips began to turn purple.

Mermaids are utterly vulnerable to stress.

"Relax. I promise that you will live your best life here Wei Ying. We will look so good together. What do you say?" Lan Wangji's voice was addicting and glaring. Wei Wuxian shivered under the piercing gaze of the amber eyes.

"If you do not let me go, I will kill myself." Wei Wuxian threatened, very well knowing that it will have no effects on the human. Humans never care about other creatures. They only seek for pleasure and then discard the means of pleasure from their peaceful paths of life.

Lan Wangji pulled him closer in a gruelling hug. It was enough to punch out air from his lungs. Tears gathered in his rainbow mermaid eyes and they fell on the Jade's shoulder drop by drop.

"Don't even dare to. Or else I will make sure to slaughter your clan. Lans owns Erhai lake, Wei Ying." Threat dripped from the Jade's deep and authoritative voice. "Don't cry Wei Ying. You are safe here. Trust me." His tone softened magically, almost cajoling.

"So. You Lans are capable only of harnessing such petty methods to feed vengeance? This is how you take revenge on us? For something that nature makes us do?" Wei Wuxian choked out.

"How many lives have you ended with your beauty? More than thousand I suppose?" Lan Wangji asked and brought Wei Wuxian's mouth to the wound on his shoulder, offering his blood for the mermaid to feed.

"Why? Don't you humans slaughter millions of lives every day to just fetch your sinful tongue with some paltry appetite for so-called delicacies? You can do whatever you want but when we do it, it's our sin? You humans cannot control your lust and then blame us for devouring your bloody life? Shame on your race. You all are bastards. Including a bitch like you." Wei Wuxian snarled on Lan Wangji's ear and tore apart the already wounded skin on the Jade's shoulder.

"As I said. You can trust me. I will make sure that you and your like creatures are not harmed. Not until you are in my territory. And stop revolting Wei Ying. Drink my blood and don't compel me to force you." In a swift motion, he pressed the mermaid on the bed and inserted his bleeding finger into Wei Ying's mouth, forcing the other to gulp his blood.

"Why are you resisting? You know you will have a better life here. Better than the clan that just envies you. Wants you gone. I will forever cherish you. Forever keep you safe..." The Lan spoke softly and went downwards to lick Wei Wuxian's sensitive spot between the soft and pliant legs.

"Do you think I will be happy from being away from my homeland? Away from the place I was made by nature to reside in?" Wei Wuxian threw the question in an unexpectedly calm fashion and the lips worked harder between his legs. But he laid on the bed like a dead fish. Not eliciting even an ounce of reaction.

"They tried to kill you. They had tried to hand you over to the Wens. They had tried to poison you. They had tried to get you devoured by a shark. They had tried to make you enmesh in those fishermen's net. Numerous mermen had tried to force themselves upon you. I almost lost you in many ways. Not anymore."

Wei Wuxian could not produce a word more. His tongue felt itself at lost. These were the words he had told Lan Wangji amid the throes of pseudo seductive words. To his utter terror, he had spurred out numerous words of honesy, and confessed numerous unprofessional feelings before the jade. These honest words flowed and dripped from his tongue by themselves, when the scrutinizing amber eyes pressed him to spur about his well being.

And he realised, like a terrifying thunder, that he had been seducing Lan Wangji not for days or months, but for years.

Years.

Many years. More than a decade.

Many men had come to the Erhai Lake, but he did nothing to even go near them. He swam tens of miles to meet only Lan Wangji. And Lan Wangji alone.

His eyes and lips felt heavy. "Water..." He choked out hoarsely before passing out once again.

The next time he woke up, he was not on the hard, wooden bed, but floating on the water surface while clutching the end of a mammoth water tub. His tail felt heavy, but pleasant. His mermaid essence began to restore in his cells and his body and heart felt a lot relaxed in the cold and rippling water.

Warm sunlight was creeping pleasanty into the room through the large window, and he bathed under it with pleasure.

The doors suddenly creaked open and Lan Wangji entered with a large ceramic pot gleaming in his hand. He sat on the floor beside Wei Wuxian's face and the mermaid immediately swam away to the other side of the tub and sank deeper into the water.

A sigh, and then clicking sound of the lid being lifted up. A rusty smell diffused in the air and Wei Wuxian's mermaid instincts got sharp and alive.

Blood and flesh.

He unconsciously swam towards the pot and peeked up from the water surface. The deliciously raw aroma made his stomach growl.

The pot was all red and red. Awful to human eyes but appetizing to the mermaid senses. Fresh and raw.

With shock, Wei Wuxian looked up at the Jade, and the other smiled softly.

"Anything for my love." Lan Wangji spoke tenderly and kissed Wei Wuxian's lips deeply. The mermaid allowed the pleasant feeling to intrude his mouth.

"Those Wen and Tai rapists and murderers deserve it." Lan Wangji further added, lips hovering above the mermaid's blushed, red ones.

The two tongues mingled softly, hungrily, and the two torsos rubbed against each other impatiently.

"You will bring your wife one day. And then I will become just a cock warmer for you. Such a beautiful life it will be. Right Lan Zhan? After all, a human can bond selflessly only with another human. Other creatures are just an entertainment for them." Wei Wuxian's eyes were submissive, and melancholic. They were surrendering, but mellow. Nothing like the sharp gleam they once held.

"Lans love only once. Their determination never quivers." Lan Wangji said and handed a sharp katana to the mermaid. A word was written on its hilt -

The word Wei Wuxian utters the most when he is bored.

"If something like that happens, smear this sword with my blood." As soon as Lan Wangji finished his statement, the mermaid pulled him for a deep and a promising kiss, his tears mingling along the rhythm of their lips.

The tears were not of sorrow, but of something inexplicable.

Mermaids never feel love for humans.

They only feed on their flesh and blood during the lunar eclipse once in a month, and mate with them to sustain their lives.

They never fall for this cruel race.
