"Stop beating yourself up, (Y/N)." Your best friend said over the phone.

"But it was my fault, (b/f/n)!!" You flopped down on your bed. "I was the one who - "

"Just stop, okay?" He pleaded. "I hate seeing you like this. I don't want you to suffer."

"Well guess what? I am suffering. And I don't think that will stop!" You yelled, hanging up the phone and burying your muzzle into your pillow.

You hear the phone ring a couple of times, you not being in the mood to pick up any of the calls. You did not want sympathy from your friend right now, neither did you want ponies looking at you like you were this poor little filly, which you are not.

But you couldn't help feeling like one.

You couldn't help feeling like a little filly who just lost someone they loved and couldn't stop crying about it.

"I would give just about anything to be a filly again." You whisper to yourself, staring at the ceiling. "Especially so if Flutter would be with me again."

"I need to take a walk." You suddenly say, leaving your phone in your bedroom and walking downstairs. You then pushed the door open, wandering out into the streets and walking.

Where, you ask?

Well, you didn't exactly know. You didn't know where you wanted to go, nor what you wanted to do - you just went to wherever your hooves took you.

Then, suddenly, you were in the woods. You didn't know why or how, since you weren't paying attention to where you were going. The walk into the woods usually takes 10 minutes, but it felt like one to you.

You looked around, staring at the trees of the Everfree Forest. All of the trees were bare, meaning that it was just after the winter season. You were now regretting the choice of leaving the house without a jacket. . .

But then you pushed that thought aside and instead thought about back when you were a filly -

You were in filly school, waiting impatiently for the bell to ring so you could go home. Suddenly, you felt someone tap you on the shoulder. You turned around, seeing the blushing face of Fluttershy.

"You wanna play after sc-school today?" She quietly asked you, smiling.

"Sure!" You whispered back, hearing the bell ring. A smile crept across your face, hopping out of your chair and motioning for Fluttershy to follow you. She smiled, following you out the door and outside.

Soon, you two were in the woods, laughing and playing. You were having the time of your life, overjoyed at the presence of one of your best friends. You two played hopscotch, raced, played with animals, basically everything.

A few minutes later, you were sitting beside Fluttershy, chomping on some apples underneath the shade of a tree. You looked into her blue eyes and said, "Flutter?"

"Yes (y/n)?"

"Are we always going to best friends?"

"Of course, (y/n)!" She snuggled up against you. "Don't worry, you'll never lose me."

You then heard something behind you. You snapped around, looking to where it came from. "Hello? Anybody there?"

Suddenly, you were pushed to the ground, a yell of surprise escaping from your lips. You opened your eyes again to stare into red eyes, pink hair going on your face.

Pink hair...?

"F-fluttershy?"

"(y/n)??" She let go of you, you standing up again. "Is that really you?"

"F-fluttershy!!" You looked at her - from her darkish yellow hooves all the at to her wavy pink hair.

"I can't believe it's you!!" She hopped around, smiling her biggest smile (fangs included). 

"I can't believe it either!!" You ran up and hugged her as tight as you could. "I've missed you so much!!"

You felt your hooves slowly leave the ground. "I've missed you too (y/n)! - but hold on!"

Suddenly, you two were soaring in the air ( MY FIRST ONE  SHOT OF THIS BOOK REFERENCE - comment if you got it XD ) , your (h/c) mane going into your eyes, you amazed at being up here. You looked at the ground below - ponies wandering from building to building, Twilights castle, the Apple farm - all of the ponies looking like little ants from all the way up here, in the clouds. You were so distracted at what you were witnessing that you didn't even notice that Fluttershy's wings were now very bat - like, flapping faster than ever before.

You held on tight to Fluttershy's waist, not wanting to let go, for two reasons - you didn't want to die, because if you let go that was bound to happen - and because you never wanted your Flutter to leave you again.

Soon, Fluttershy lowered you two into a tree. But it wasn't just a tree, because this one had building in it. It was small, but clean, fit for only a few ponies to be inside. 

Once you two were safely inside, you both sat down on an old, rickety bed. Neither of you said anything for a few minutes. Then, you heard her say, "You okay?"

"Um..." That was the question, wasn't it? Were you really okay? Did you really forgive yourself for  what you did? Did she forgive you? "I guess so."

"Listen, about what happened - " She tried to start, but you cut her off.

"Frankly, Flutter, I don't want to talk about it."

"Then please, let me talk about it." She took a deep breath. "You took me to that zoo for fun. You wanted us to have a good time together, for me to see exotic animals that i haven't seen before. And I knew I was going to have fun! . . .  What I'm trying to say is, it's not your fault that that bat bit me. It's really not."

"Yes it is."

"It's not."

"It is!"

"(y/n), its not your - "

"Yes it is!! I'm the one that begged you to go!! I'm the one that pulled you towards that bat exhibit! I'm the one that made all your family and friend's hearts break!! I'm the one - "

You couldn't finish your sentence, because Fluttershy had suddenly crashed her lips onto yours.

It surprised you at first, finally feeling her lips for the first time in a while. But then, you embraced it - turning the kiss into a more passionate one, intertwining your tongue with hers. 

You wanted to yell, you wanted to be mad at yourself but - you just couldn't. You just couldn't bring yourself to push away this beautiful mare, no matter what she was now. A bat, a vamponie, a pegasus, a pony - you loved her no matter what.
