Flurry Heart's P.O.V
A perk of living in the palace is knowing where and when the guards make their rounds. I could easily sneak out without being noticed. I threw on a cloak to cover my wings and face so no one would know I was the princess. I had to make sure I was home before lunch. I opened my door and looked to make sure no guards were doing extra rounds. Luckily none of them were.
I ran down the hall and to this door that lead to a secret back hallway. The guards never really patrolled this area so I was okay. I opened that door and ran down that hall. The hallway lead to a stairwell that lead to a door, which opened to the outside. I ran down the stairs and right to the door. I was so close to freedom!
"Stop!" A guard yelled. I turned around and found a guard right at the top of the stairs. "Your majesty, I'm sorry I didn't recognize you. What are you doing trying to leave the castle?"
"I was just going to the gardens."
"But there's a quicker way through the west end of the castle."
"I wanted to take a longer walk. Now if you please, I would like to be alone, on my walk."
"Ok your majesty. Good day." The guard said and with that I was free again.
I threw open the door and took a breath of fresh air. I could always walk out on my balcony or go out in the garden when ever I wanted to but I never really got outside the palace. The only time I was outside the palace was for conferences, meetings with civilians, or going out with the other princesses or my mom and dad. So this was a change.
I walked around the palace to the front of it and I didn't know what got into me. I just froze. All I saw was this beautiful empire with ponies everywhere. I never knew how lively the empire could be. I smiled. I started walking again to where the shops were and where the ponies were talking and playing. I heard some conversations about the princesses, me, enemies of Equestria, and sports.
"So that is what normal ponies talk about!" I thought to my self. "Me and my family usually just talk about politics."
I looked around some more and found that my life was so different from theirs. They could be free while I had to stay in a castle all day. We were so different and my parents said that we were all the same. Well they lied.
As I was ranting to my self, I wasn't watching where I was going until I ran into him. The perfect pony. Blond hair blue eyes, just amazing.
"I'm so sorry!" I said thanking the cloak for covering my blushing face.
"No, no it's fine." He said, "hey? Are you new here?"
"Kind of. I'm not usually in this part of town."
"Oh, then how about I show you around!"
"That would be great-" I started to say but then I heard the clock strike noon. It was lunch and if I wasn't there my parents would freak. "I'm sorry, maybe another time!" I said running away.
"Oh.. um okay, bye." I heard him mutter as I ran. I had to make it home on time.

Hello! Sorry it took me forever to update, I've been really busy. I have school and sports. I also want to move rooms. Yeah. So I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
