#8: Call me for 'Round Two'

Please don't make any dirty remarks to the title, it is a reference to a game that will take place later in the oneshot.

'''''

Before I begin introducing the oneshot, there's something I feel I need to address.

Something kinda traumatic happened to me and I'm trying to prevent it from happening again.

No, no one died, or anything. But a close friend of mine did betray my trust.

He hurt me, pretty badly, by doing this.

So, anyone who knows me at all knows how I try and stay as innocent as possible. I remove myself from any and all situations that could go down that path. To the point where the people around me always warn me, so that I don't have to determine what to do, by myself.

They'll tell me, "Katelyn, I don't think you'll wanna play the game ("Cards Against Humanity,' I think was what it was called), you might wanna stay in the hotel room."

I remember that when I was in Drama Class, there was this black girl who practically adopted me. Whenever anyone said a cuss word, even though I was fine with it, she'd either shut them up or run over and cover my ears.

Anyway, about 3 days ago, my 'friend' who I've known for almost 5 years, sent me two really dirty jokes.

When I confronted him about it, his 'excuse' was that he thought that I won't be so innocent for long and he took it as his job to introduce me to the 'real world.' He then insisted that he knew I had laughed.

In reality, I was sobbing. He violated my trust, and I don't think things will be the same again. I'm still gonna be friends with him, but if he does it again, I'm blocking him and cutting him off from my life.

I don't need or want that stuff plaguing my phone or my mind.

(He didn't apologize until I threatened to block him. And his 'apology' was "lol XD sorry it was a joke)

'''''

The point of me writing this is so that you guys know that I'm okay with y'all cussing or whatever in the comments, that's your choice, so yo-do-you. But please don't say anything dirty or 'pervert-ish' because I don't like it and am really affected by it.

No, this hasn't happened before, in any of my stories. No one has commented anything dirty. But after my 'friend' did that, I know that it's best to lay down some rules.

So, Rule #1: Respect others' descisions (For instance my lack of cussing)

Rule #2: No dirty jokes or references

Rule #3: Positive vibes only :)

Thank you for your respect and support!!

Now, onto introducing the oneshot!!

This one is a Felinette! Yay!!

I've never done a Felinette, before, but hopefully this turned out okay!! XD

So, in this, I made Felix a bit nicer....I know he's supposed to be rude and sarcastic and whatnot, but my hopeless-romantic tendencies demanded for me to write him as a little more nice and chivalrous.

I know that in a real Felinette situation he would have probably cussed once or twice, but I don't want to write cussing, 'cause I don't do it. So, sorry! But it's my choice, so please respect that.

Btw, I think I made Mari as a bit of a mix with...Sherlock Holmes...? Idk how that happened, but I think it works!! XD

Also, I wanna dedicate this to bizzzyyyy because:

1. They requested this

And 2. This is an apology for not having read your Felinette fan-fiction earlier! I just got so busy!! I'm so sorry! I'm reading it now and I really like it!!

Guys, please check it out! It's called "Intensity" and it's on bizzzyyyy's profile!

Anyway, enjoy!

Marinette felt like crying.

How dare he do this to her?! What had she done to deserve this?!

And on their anniversary, no less!!

What was Nathaniel thinking?!

Marinette's heart grew heavier as she could feel even more sympathetic stares from the surrounding happy couples.

She was alone. It was Marinette's and and her boyfriend, Nathaniel's 5th month anniversary. And he didn't even bother showing up to their reservations. Let alone telling her where he was

She felt hot tears sting at her eyes. She bit her lip, willing the tears to not make an appearance.

Did she do something wrong? Was that why Nathaniel didn't show? Was she just not good enou--

"I'm terribly sorry that I'm late, Darling, the traffic was terrible!" a deep voice interrupted her thoughts. She sighed. He remembered their date!

She looked up and gasped.

That was not Nathaniel.

Where Nathaniel was a red-head, an artist, geeky, and had an eccentric choice of wardrobe, sitting before Marinette, on the other side of the table, was a tall, well-groomed, blond-haired man.

It was obvious that he was wealthy and had an excellent sense of style. He wore an nice pair of slacks, a dress shirt, a waistcoat, and sensible shoes. He had a stern and emotionless face, but he didn't look unkind. He was definitely a man of high status in society.

What was he doing here?

Marinette looked inquiringly to him.

He leaned forward and spoke softly, so that the other couples wouldn't hear.

"My name is Felix. I'm here to save you, Mademoiselle."

"Did...did Nathaniel send you?" she whispered back.

"No and I don't know any Nathaniel. But if this is the man who left you here alone, then I'd gladly like to meet him and teach him a thing or two about chivalry."

Marinette sighed.

"Well, thank you for sitting there; I was just about to leave. In fact, I would have left sooner if these reservations hadn't been so expensive!"

A brief flash of concern flitted across his otherwise emotionless face.

In a medium-loud voice he said, "So what'll it be, My Love? I'm assuming you'd prefer the Chicken Cordon Bleu?"

Marinette jumped slightly at him calling her "My Love". It was so unexpected as the two were strangers, but he said it with ease, as if this was a regular thing he called her.

Yet, Mari found that she liked the pet name. It was very different from the one that Nathaniel had dubbed her, 'Little Blue.'

Like, seriously, Nath?! You couldn't come up with anything else?!

Felix cleared his throat, bringing Marinette's attention back to him.

Oh, that's right; he was waiting for her reply!

"Umm," she looked down at the menu. Scanning the list of meals, she concluded that Felix was indeed right; the Chicken Cordon Bleu did sound good. "Yes, I think I'll have that...Honey, " she added the pet name, almost as an afterthought.

Did his eyes widen when she said that? Marinette honestly had no clue. She couldn't read this guy; he was so mysterious and showed no emotion. And...she was strangely intrigued by him because of it.

She cleared her throat, "So what are you going to order?" She smiled, dazzlingly.

What? I mean, if she wanted to prove to the other couples in the room, then why shouldn't she play along with his act? It's only fair.

"I think I'll have the same as you." Felix waved over the waiter, who took their orders and promised that they'd be out in a bit.

An awkward silence filled the air between them after they had nothing to talk of anymore.

Marinette shook her head. She didn't ask for this! She didn't ask for Nath to abandon her, for the handsome stranger to sit with her, or for him to act this way!

All she wanted was to enjoy this more than she would if she were on her own.

"So," she began. "Would you like to play a game?"
He quirked an eyebrow.

"A game?" he scoffed, incredulously.

"Yes. I would actually like to have a little fun tonight, instead of moping because of my terrible boyfriend."

After a pause, he answered, "Very well. What would you like to play?"

She hesitated.

"Tic-Tac-Toe?"

"How old are you, eight?"

"The 'I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 100' game?"

"You can't be serious."

"Fine," she grew impatient. "What about 'I spy'?!"

"Do I look like a child to you?"

"Well, you're acting like one, Felix!!"

Marinette could have sworn her heart stopped when he cracked a small smile.

"Very well. What about I come up with a game as a means to entertain you?" he asked.

After a pause, Marinette agreed.

'''''

Marinette was desperately trying to staunch her fit of giggles.

She had not expected this to happen!

As it turns out, Felix had a good idea to play for a game.

It was such a good game, that even after they had gotten their food, they continued to play it.

"Okay, okay, your turn to play "Deductions", Marinette. And do try to make it interesting this time," Felix joked.

At least, she thought he was joking. That guy was very hard to read!!!

Marinette eyed the people around her, trying not to draw attention to herself as she did so. Finally, she set her eyes on the couple to her right. They didn't look too happy to be there.

After a minute or two of studying their behavior she turned back to Felix.

"Well?" he prompted, looking bored and annoyed.

"Okay, so Lila is obviously using and cheating on that man, there," she pointed, inconspicuously.

"How can you tell?"

"Do you see that 'promise ring' on her right ring finger? There's a slight tan line, and the outside of the ring is dirty. It shows that she doesn't care about it at all and takes it off frequently."

At this, Felix looked slightly confused. Just a little.

"How does the tan line show that she's cheating?"

"Why else would she take the ring off so frequently? Her hands are proof that she's never done a day of hard work in her life; there are no callouses or hard lines on them. Even lotion can't save you if you've done labor using your hands! I'm telling you; she takes it off so that the other men that she uses don't know that she's 'taken'!"

"Okay, but what does how dirty the outside of the ring is have to do with this?"

"Felix, as always, you see but do not observe. The status of how dirty the ring not only shows how much she care about it, or rather the lack of care she has for the man. It also shows how frequently she hides it. You can see the scratch marks and dents o the edge that shows that she hides it somewhere where is gets squished a lot, so I'd say a handbag."

She turned to Felix."So? Did I entertain you?"

He nodded, stiffly.

"Yes!" she pumped her fist. "It's your turn, now!"

"Actually, seeing as we've been here for 2 hours, how about we call it a night? I'll walk you back to your car." He stood up, adjusting his waistcoat.

Marinette blushed profusely. She hadn't realized how late it had gotten!

"Um, yes, I guess you're right."

She gathered her things and together they walked to the restaurant's lobby.

Felix paid the bill, ignoring Mari's protests and took her hand, and walked out the door with her, arm-in-arm. (A/N: I bet Mari was blushing pretty badly, don't you? That sure was one way to shut her up about the bill! XD)

When the pair got to her car, Marinette turned to him.

"What is it?" he queried.

"I just wanted to thank you for saving me back there."

"It was no problem, Mademoiselle. You didn't deserve that to happen to you."

She lowered her head, grumbling, "I'm going to kill Nathaniel."

"Speaking of 'Nathaniel'..."

She raised her eyes to meet his. "What? What about him?"

"You should break up with your boyfriend."

Marinette blinked.

"What did you think I was gonna do to him? Give him a present? Should I make him a dress, while I'm at it?" she asked incredulously.

There was a moments' silence before something amazing happened.

It was so amazing that fangirls would sigh and oneshots and fanfiction would be written about that event for many years to come.

Felix laughed, loudly.

It sounded like it had surprised even him! It bubbled out of him and he couldn't stop for several moments.

Once he did stop, he faced the bewildered girl.

"That was great, Marinette."

She smiled, breathlessly.
He grabbed her hand, pressing something into her fingers.

"Call me for 'Round 2' for a game of 'Deductions', sometime, will you?"

And with that, he walked away.

Marinette unfolded the paper, staring at the phone number written on it.

"Definitely."
