Fourth's POV
Of all the people that mom had to hire to tutor me, it had to be Gemini, the very person that I had always tried to avoid running into at our school campus.
He always had this way of walking and the way he held his chin up like he looked down on everyone. I wanted to take a swing at him every time I happened to cross his path.
Given that he is set to graduate with highest honors come graduation time, but still he didn't have to behave like he was above everyone else at school.
When he pressed the buzzer at our gate I wanted so much to fake illness so that I would not have to go through our tutorial session.
I ran to my window and watched as our housekeeper went to open the gate and let him in.
I had no intention of going downstairs to meet him. Let the housekeeper or my mom escort him up to my room.
I was sorely tempted to lock my door.
My whole body tensed up when I heard two sets of footsteps going up the stairs leading to my room.
I could hear my mom's voice and Gemini saying something to her in response.
I heard a soft knock before mom opened my door and walked into my room, followed by Gemini. I saw him look around my room, taking note of the clutter on my desk and the rumpled bed sheet on my bed. I would dearly love to go to his house and survey his bedroom to see if it was neat or if it was as cluttered as mine was.
"Fourth," my mom was talking to me now. "Gemini is here to give you your tutorial lessons in English grammar."
Gemini stepped forward and held out his hand to me. I pretended not to notice it. He let his hand fall back to his side when he saw that I wasn't going to accept his offer of a handshake.
Gemini unzipped his backpack and took out a booklet.
"I have prepared a booklet of exercises that can help you to review the lessons on our English class from the start of classes to the present," he said, handing over the booklet to me.
Instead of accepting the booklet, I tapped open my phone and started looking for a game to play on it.
My mom took the booklet from Gemini and set it with some force on to my desk.
"Get started on it, Fourth," she commanded me.
Then she turned to Gemini.
"I will come up to check on his progress later," she said before heading out the door.
Gemini bowed to her and then turned to me.
"You heard your mother," he said as he took one of the two chairs by my wooden desk.
Instead of sitting on the other chair beside it, I walked over to my bed and sat on it and started playing a game on my phone.
