Fanaa ( Part 10 )
Sabar kiya, Dard sahaye...
Teri chokahat pay bethay rahy!
Bhoolay hum, Bhoolay tum,
Aur zamane ki sunntay gaye!
Meri tunay na sunni kabhi,
Kyun main tum ko pukaroon!
Ansu bethay qaid palkoun pay..
Kasy in ko baahaon!!!
Ishqiya, Mene haaan!
Main haara, Main haara, Main haara!!!
__________
"Ayirah sab theek hojayega. Bus khamosh!" Taking a deep breath he stated. His mind was a frenzy now but he knew ayirah was getting emotional.
"Kuch theek nahi hoga, aise to bilkul bhi nahi. Mujhe abhi kay abhi Baba kay ghar chor kar aao."
Looking up she stated with fury.
"Wo kuch dino main America wapis chale jayengay, tab kiya karogi tum?"
He sighed as she pulled out of his embrace.
"I don't give a damn! I just can't stay in this hell anymore."
Staring deep in his eyes she said.
"Tum kahin nahin jaa raheen and that's final ayirah." Glaring back at her he finalised.
"Main Baba kay pas jaa rahi hoo. Mene yahan nahi rehna tumhare sath. Bus. Aur agar tum nahi chor kar asaktay to main khud chali jaungi!"
She was just not calming down.
"Don't create a drama ayirah." He warned.
"Or jo tum kar rahe ho wo? She held his collars.
"I am sorry. Ainda nahi hoga." Giving in he apologised.
"Ainda ayega bhi nahi yashab. I am leaving. And you please keep your secrets to yourself."
She said with finality in her tone and picking up her cellphone she had called Mr hadeed.
"Baba mujhe apke sath jana hai, mujhe leke jayen!" Saying this she had disconnected the phone call worrying Mr hadeed all the more.
"Ayirah tum theek nahi kar raheen. Unhe involve mat karo. We can sit down and solve out everything. "
Holding onto her arm he said trying to mend things.
"Tum mera dimagh kharab kar chukay ho and to solve everything out I need some space and time, islye mujhe bilkul mat rokna !"
Saying coldly she walked out quickly gathering her stuff..
______
"Ayirah bachay kiya kar rahi ho tum. Teen din se aker yahan bethy ho, rozana yashab ata hai or tum ussay milti hi nahi ho. Kal main chala jaunga peeche kiya karogi. Wapis chali jao please."
Mr hadeed tried to put in some sense into her brain.
Ap khush hojayen kay main apke sath nahin jaa rahi. Lekin main filhal wapis nahin jaunhi. mujhe Kam az kam kuch din akele rehnde den please."
She sighed.
"Akele kese rahogi bache? " He was genuinely worried for her
"Mere helpers bohat hain. I will manage. Please Let me be for a few days. I need to get my mind straight Baba." Holding onto his arm she placed her head on his shoulder as a lone tear escaped her eyes. She was not getting a grip onto her feelings. Her heart would say to go back and give yashab a chance while her mind would deny it all.
"Eero bachay? Yashab ne kaha kiya kuch to batao." Mr hadeed asked.
"Wo kuch kehta hi nahi hai Baba." She scoffed.
"Khush nahi ho tum iss rishtay se? Kiya mene ghalti kardi?"
He asked looking at her sad face.
Kuch pata nahi hai, Baba mujhe kuch nahi pata. Mujhe koi khushi mehsoos hi nahi hoti. Yashab Acha insan hai per shayad main buri hoo. Main yahan se door jana chahti hoon. App mujhe America le chalen apne sath. Baba me thak gai hoo. Main it negative hochuki hoon kay mujhe kisi ki achai nahi dikhti. Me apne sath auro ki zindgio main bhi negativity phela rahi hoon. Yashab mujhe deserve nahi karta. Main.. "
She was finally letting it all out as tears were also flooding out of her eyes but her words died midway listening to his voice and feeling his presence as his leather and musk scent took over.
"Uncle, airah kay physio therapist milna chah rahay the. Wo isko kafi dino se calls kar rahe hain per iski phoen off thee. Main unhe sath laya hoon because she has already missed a three days session.
His words were calculated.
She turned to look at him and his eyes held redness. He seemed angry but was trying to stay calm. His fuming eyes did send a chill in her body. Unable to further look into his eyes she lowered them instantly.
"Eero jao, therapist se mil lo." Saying this hadeed walked out of the room to give the two a little space.
"Mujhe nahi karani physiotherapy. " Wiping her red and wet face she declared.
"Sahi se chal nahi paogi or America, sab se door nahi jaa paogi."
His voice was low this time but words clear. So he had heard each and every word.
"Eavesdropping is a bad habit. " She taunted.
"I agree but knowing half truths and believing them is worse."
Forwarding his hand for her to take he said and looking at him she slowly gave in.
They both had silently walked till the drawing room where the therapist was sitting.
_____
"You can't afford to miss a single minute of your therapy session and you escaped three days. That not good for your recovery ayirah."
The old doctor scolded ayira abit because it was his dedication that he had tracked her down otherwise she had her phone turned off.
"Sorry. It won't happen again." She apologised.
"Are you walking?" He further asked.
"Waking out alot lately." Yashab murmured but Clearly loud enough for her to hear.
"I am trying my best." She managed to answer.
"Yashab, make her practice walk half an hour daily without stopping. And make that time right before I come for therapy. "
Doctor instructed.
"Sure sir." Nodding yashab smiled.
All the time till he doctor was present yashab was there along with her. Holding onto her where ever needed and luckily she had not protested in front of the doctor.
"So I assume I will be coming here from now on for the sessions instead of the old residence."
The doctor confirmed before leaving.
"Yeah, actually I..." ayirah started to answer when she was cut through by Yashab.
"Just for a few days doc! Hope you dont mind the inconvenience. "
Smiling professionally yashab had walked the doctor out and after that he had silently left for his home.
______
Mr hadeed had left the next day and ayirah had gone to Airport to see him off.
She had started crying when the flight departure announcement was made.
"Sorry uncle got stuck, have a safe journey." Yashab had also made it last minute and ayirahs sobs subsided seeing him.
"Take care of her yashab." Hugging them both Mr hadeed said.
"I will!" He replied with clarity.
"And mend your issues quick you two." Heading inside for departure Mr hadeed said and yashab had nodded while ayirah's stayed still.
__
"If you don't mind I can give you a ride home." Yashab had said looking towards her.
"Okay." Agreeing she gestured her driver to leave while she silently sat with yashab.
"Dinner karogi mere sath?" He had asked after a ten minutes silence.
"Haan bhook lagi hai kafi." Nodding she agreed and he had without a second thought diverted to a desi restaurant.
Holding her firmly in his grip he had pulled the chair for her and made her sit.
"Kiya khaogi?"
"Kuch bhi. Jo jaldi mil jaye." She replied.
Nodding he had asked the waiter to bring them biryani and karahi.
"Ayirah ye sab kiun kar rahi ho?" He finally managed to start a conversation.
"Main sab kar rahi hoo aur tum yashab? Tum kuch nahi kar rahe?"
She sighed. She was getting the purpose of this suddwn dinner.
"Mene mana hai meri ghalti thi usdin lekin tum jaan gai na kay main lareb kay liye gaya tha, zaroori tha. Mene mazrat ki na tumse to tum ye zid chordo or ghar chalo."
Holding onto her hands he pleaded.
"Wo mera ghar nahi hai. Aur Main akele theek hoo." Pulling her hands back she stated coldly.
"Uncle jaa chukay hain or mujhe tumhari fikar rahegi ayirah."
Pinching the bridge of his nose he said Getting frustrated.
"Meri fikar karne ki tumhe koi zaroorat nahi hai or ab mujhse wapisi ki umeed mat rakhna."
She had started to rant put when the waiter came and placed te food on the table.
"Main nahi karunga to kon karega. Mujhe batao, how can I fix everything. "
He sighed as she silently dug into food ignoring him.
"Aik proper conversation tum mujhse kar nahi saktay, Sach mujhse bol nahi saktay or baat karte ho sab fix karne ki. Ye tumhari league se bahar hai."
Glaring into his eyes she whisper growled.
"Mera past aik draona khwab hai mere liye, mene nahi baat karni uske baray Main. Tum samajh nahi sakti kia."
He was quick to respond with sharpness.
"To theek hai chor do mujhe mere haal per kiunke meri nazar Main jis rishtay Main aitbar na ho, wo rishta rehna hi nahi chahiye!"
Saying this angrily she stood up to leave when she stumbled and before she could fall he had come forward and took hold of her.
"Khud ko sahi se sambhal to sakti nahi ho lekin baten bari bari karni hai."
He whispered while walking her towards the car. He had ordered the waiter to pack there food.
Dropping her home he had given the packed food parcel to her and had left.
And late at night when she felt hungry she had eaten up the food and while doing that tears had rushed down her cheaks.
____________
And despite her stopping him a million times he would daily come visit her.
Holding onto her he would make her practice some exercises and make her walk before her physio therapist would show up.
And he would stay with her till her therapy was complete.
Quarrelling for about a week ayirah had finally gave in. She had understood that he was a stubborn man. He wouldn't speak a word but he would always be there for her in every single situation and now all this would make her lose her mind even more.
He was slowly capturing her heart. He was gradually taking over her mind and she couldn't do a thing about it.
Guess she was finally falling in love again.... But yes maybe again with a wrong a guy!!!
______
Today was ayirah's routine check up at the hospital. Getting up early morning she had gotten ready to head to the doctors at the right time. The thought of her going alone to the hospital was bothering her inside out. How badly she was wishing for yashab to show up though it was a weekday and she had not told him about the appointment and he usually came to visit her after office.
"Tell the driver to get the car started I will be out in a moment."
Brushing her hair and gathering all the test reports I a file she said to her help.
"Mam what about breakfast?" She questioned.
"I will skip it." She had said in a haste.
"Or dawai nashtay kay baghair khalogi kiya?" And yes her heart had missed a beat hearing his raspy voice from behind.
"Tum, phir se!" She rolled her eyes hiding her inner feelings.
"Nashta laya hoon, khaalo phir chaltay hain doctor kay pas."
Forwarding her a croissant and a bagel that he had brought from a famous patisserie he had said to her and Nodding silently she took it.
She was always surprised about how he knew things she spoke about.
Well it was Yashab Harris. He knew all about his dear ones!
_____
The doctor had been happy with her progress but had warned her to never tire herself or never miss the adequate amount of exercise.
"Everything needs a balance ayirah."
Dismissing them with a professional smile the doctor had said to them. The doctor's words hitting them both hard.
Coming out of the doctors clinic yashab had walked towards the pharmacy to get her medicines while she waited in the waiting area.
Beside her a beautiful woman of her age sat with am infant in her arms who was weeping hard and the girl was trying to calm her down.
"Kiya masla hai isko?" She asked the woman. Her heart was hurting seeing this small child sick.
"There is an issue with her left leg. The doctor suggested we go for a surgery but there is no assurance that it will be successful. "
The woman told her and ayirahs heart melted for the little child.
"I wish everything gets well for her." She smiled giving the little baby some love.
Exchanging greetings the woman bid her farewell saying her husband was here and walked off and ayirah's eyes followed her until they stilled and went rigid.
It was jamal haiq, yes it was him! She was seeing him for the first time after her accident maybe or maybe after the time he rejected her, he tore her. It was him! That little infant was his!
"Oh no! Please!" Squeezing her eyes tight she looked upwards as tears rolled down her eyes.
"Ayirah!" Yashab had seen jamal haiq and also ayirahs condition. Coming over he held her hand but she seemed lost, very lost.
"Chalo." Giving her support he had walked her out of the hospital from a different side and door to where jamal haiq was.
.....
"My wife Sara." After a periods of dead silence he finally muttered in a low voice. Maybe just maybe he was Gathering courage to voice it all out.
And right now it seemed the perfect time to talk about it.
He thought it was time for.her to know about his past when her past had just showed up on her face!
"Your ex? " realising what he had just spoke She corrected...
"Yeah. "Taking a deep breath he replied.
"What about her. Did you love her.? "She asked in a trance.
"Uhmm, well She wanted to marry me and I was not willing to so she accused me of harassment and uh, and voila all believed her over me and forced me to marry her."
Inhaling sharply he let it All out. He had silently stopped the car on the side.
"What? How come?" She was shocked to her core. She looked at him bewildered. It was hard to process what he was saying.
"Well unfortunately this is what it is. Bitter reality, Women can do that too."
He scoffed as hurt reeked from his voice.
"Then..." She questioned.
"After marriage I ignored her totally. She was willing but I never gave what she wanted. I was afraid of physical intimacy after that so hence I hesitated coming closer to you, its not your fault, It was my insecurity."
He told her the bitter reality of his life. She was stunned. It was too much to digest or process right now.
His words and truths had just made her forget her miseries just now.
"And, and uh..." She tried to speak up.
"That night was amazing, thankyou, I had needed you and you did not back off and I am sorry for leaving the next day."
Starting the car engine he stated with his focus on the road.
Her eyes had roamed in his face longer then they were supposed to.
Sighing she diverged her eyes towards the windscreen too.
There was silence again!
