[1] Fate
It all started the day I thought I had understood things.
No. I hadn't.
I didn't understand the vast conspiracy of this universe against me.
I was given birth without my permission. Then, I was made a human without a thought. Abruptly, I was abandoned too without my knowledge. Finally, when I was kidnapped against my choice for the good.
It didn't end there.
The further was getting thrown metres away like a rag doll without my mental presence being strong.
Oh. I died. I nearly died.
Because that wasn't the climax. Wasn't it? Just a beginning to some more horrible events happening in my life without my permission.
No one cared about my consent. Did they? But that didn't mean, anyone had the right to keep planning out my life. Shaping and changing it!
Not even Moon Goddess!
What did she think she was when she made me the exchange of the night?
My demons were slow clapping.
The biggest shock of life wasn't getting to know that I was the female about to cross the border, neither the fact that I was literally thrown twice to reach this dangerous side of the world. This unfound, unknown and underrated side of the world.
The bigger shock was being a member of this Werewolf world, technically and literally.
Like being claimed as a mate to a Lycan?
The biggest shock was meeting this monster during the heavy storm and nearly dying under his giant black furry body.
The real death came when along with the raindrops, slid his drools all over my neck, making me choke in terror.
Until. . .
.
.
.
What happened after that?
The sharp twitch in my eyebrows was backed by humongous jolts of pain.
Shaking my head restlessly and slowly, my eyelashes managed to part away. With shallow breaths and beating heart, I held the courage to open my eyes and hoped, I was back at home.
With Gran.
All hopes were squished under Moon Goddess' pretty white milky toe.
Because all I could see was bright light entering the dark room I was in, forcefully.
Blinking and blinking, I breathed.
And slowly, the breaths turned harsher as each memory started pouring back in mind, making me relive it again and again.
Footsteps.
Loud and hurried.
Someone grabbed my hand.
I screamed, squeezing my eyes shut and pulling my hand back. I was afraid to see any being of this side of the world.
My legs started moving in restlessness. This person wasn't leaving my wrist.
More gasps escaped me along with the screams.
"No!" I let out the loudest one. "Let me go! Please let me go!"
Sniffles escaped and slowly turned into loud sobs as Mom's howls started echoing in my mind back.
"Mom! Gran!" I screamed hard.
Another hand went for my mouth, pushing something inside. Before I could even spit it out, the mouth was covered by a hand forcefully.
"Swallow it, now!" The rough growl escaped the being nearly hovering over me, making me stun.
I gasped and freeze in my spot. My heart was still beating faster than anything, the monster knew it. The voice was rough and unrecognizable. But the growl that had accompanied soundly deadly than ever.
My hands shook as I slowly swallowed the thing and squeezed my eyes more. The tears slid down the corners to my ears, mixing into my hair.
My whole body shook in terror as the worst of imaginations started forming in my mind.
Maybe, the beast was giant than I had seen the last time. The walls were greasy and dark. The room must be little. The bed I was on must be dirtiest. Maybe, it was a den. Soon, I would be clawed brutally.
Thomas was right when he said, 'You wouldn't know what killed you.' Because I didn't have the guts to even open my eyes anymore and see the scenario.
I was scared, I kept telling my heart. I was so scared.
The tears, the beating heart, the shaky legs, the runny nose--they were my only support here.
Not even my guardian angel. He had been drunken and passed out since the day I was kidnapped by Pete. Had he been awake, he wouldn't even have let me reach this situation.
Slowly the sobs silent as my eyelids turned straight and the hand on my wrist started loosening.
A heaviness started spreading all underneath my forehead and eyes. My body started sleeping.
And the horrors calmed down unlike my heart that was still beating.
For me to face them horror any soon.
___
Whole body felt stiff as I tried to stretch it. Arms were the most tightened ones. As if I was tied.
Tied.
Tied.
My eyes opened immediately and heart reached my throat. Lots of scenarios started forming in my mind even before I could take a look around.
Raising my head, the bright light was same like before, blinding me. But this time, I could see through the silhouette of the walls. They weren't dark. They were greyish dark. The bricks. Big in size. Like old times.
A chill ran down my spine.
Gulping hard, I slowly moved my eyeballs further around.
The room was bigger than I had expected it to be. It was no cave but a real hall room. I could see the two doors, more like entrance with no doors to two other rooms. I wondered if they were toilets or some corridor. No furniture was in sight except for a arched wooden chair beside the fireplace that looked so old and gothic with all the darkness and no paint or wooden work.
Moving my eyes further, it was the wall behind me extended to the wall with the two entrances. The floor was concrete like old times.
Another chill ran down my spine.
At my left, the room was darker. I could barely see a wooden cupboard that wasn't even painted. Ahead, a little wooden table with two metallic jugs on then with crazy ancient designs on them. Their mouths were blossoming like flowers and my stomach churned. They seemed clean and shiny yet so used.
My eyes curiously moved on to the other wall with a window that was covered by a maroon curtain. It was tied by a rope.
My eyes filled up.
My heart started drowning.
Under the window, there was a wooden chair, bigger than a normal one.
My eyes widened and goosebumps risen all over my body. The familiar red dress was bright and fluffy than ever, spreading all over the carpet on the floor underneath the chair.
I gasped, moving my arms only to realize my right hand was covered thick bandages. This meant like nearly fifty wraps, I couldn't breathe after observing it.
Anxiety started filling up in my veins when with my left hand, I raised the furry blanket from my body.
Oh Lord!
No. No. I wouldn't scream.
Sobs started escaping my mouth as I tried to look outside the door. All I could see in that brightness was muddy ground.
I hiccuped, clutching the blanket tight to my chest, feeling the chills all over my body.
I was naked and frightened.
This was not nice.
I wanted to cry until death.
Looking around again, I tried to move my legs only to realise more. There were one bandage around my whole waist and lower, covering my hip bone. My right knee was thickly bandaged with the same reddish cotton kind of cloth. It seemed rough from outside yet couldn't feel the same from underneath.
Though, they were so tightly tied, I couldn't feel anything anymore except for this terror.
My hair were spread around my naked back, protecting me from the coldness I felt in this room.
Saltiness reached my tongue as I wiped my face with knuckles.
And suddenly, the footsteps occurred.
I froze, clutching the blanket to my front tight, leaning back on the furs beneath my head in fright.
My body shook as I controlled the sniffles.
A silhouette appeared on the door, making my heart shrink.
Tall and curvy.
"Awake, I see."
The voice was feminine yet so foreign. The accent was too thick for me to catch upon the words. As if someone was speaking English with broad mouth and tongue spilled out.
I sniffled in fright.
The aura was strong enough for me to stay frightened. My eyes couldn't raise up to her knees.
And slowly, she took a step inside.
The dark figure started showing colours.
A dark brown blouse fitted tightly with a brown falling skirt until the knees with no extra cloth. Two dark threads hanging around her neck. The tanned skin looked toned with taut muscles everywhere.
My eyes raised only to get jolted with shock of meeting a dangerous stranger.
A pair of hazel eyes was staring at me.
The face was long and heart-shaped. The dark hair were tightly braided back with partition done in the center. The braids looked so sick with all of them rolled against each other.
I would get a bad headache from a mere high pony tail.
She wasn't blinking as she came closer.
For some reason, I knew she was young. Her health was better than mine. The figure. The height. The curves. Yet her face lacked the maturity.
Her small thin lips didn't move much when she spoke, "I have never seen the eyes of that colour before."
She sounded stern yet so soft. I was conflicted and scared.
Observing the tears on my cheeks, her eyebrows furrowed.
"Are you in pain?" She asked while coming closer, towering over me.
She was surely above five eight.
I gulped hard as she waited for an answer.
But nothing was coming out of my mouth at seeing her thick eyebrows and pointy ears. She looked like a not-so-evolved human.
It scared the shit out of me.
My lips trembled.
Her hand forwarded towards me, making me jump and clutch the blanket tighter.
Her eyebrows narrowed and furrowed again. "Why would you wrestle so much?" She asked calmly.
"Who-Who. . ." I squeezed my eyes at listening to my hoarse and cracking voice. "Who. . ."
She nodded, bending herself closer to me.
I stayed unmoving, blinking in fear. "Who. . . Who-Who removed my clo-clothes?"
She moved back, looking confused and blank. Putting hands on her waist, she nodded in thought. "Of course, I did, Aunt. . . Wait. What did he say your name was. . .?"
My eyes widened.
"He. . .?" I choked out shakily.
She nodded, humming absentmindedly. "Your mate. My uncle."
I gasped, lowering my eyes to look around hastily.
My heart started pounding hard, making my ribs hurt. I could hear the beatings loud in my ear.
Your mate
Your mate
Your mate
"You are more shaky than he told me, you would be. . . Still crying and restless. Why won't your heart rest now that you have met your mate?" She enquired like an innocent child, holding blankness and curiosity on her face.
My lips curled up as a sob escaped me. My shaky hand reached my forehead and further cupped my trembling mouth.
"Where-Where am I?"
She gasped silently, tilted her head. Her point ears scared me more. "Where else would you be, Aunt? The territory of Alpha Ruth. The Lycans!" She said, letting out a wide smile, making the hair on the back of my neck raise.
Her canines were already protruded a little, like fangs. Like of a snake or a cat.
My blood turned cold.
A hole started forming in my pounding heart. Ants started crawling on my arms.
My head started twirling crazily.
I blinked.
"You were restless the last time you were awake. Mother made you sleep again." She said, smiling against with those sharp teeth. "She called you a Foxy. You look like the one I had once chased beyond the river."
She gasped suddenly, grabbing my wrist, making me scream inside my mind.
My heart shrank to bits.
"Why wouldn't I feel a wolf in you? She really called you a fox for a meaning. She always mean what she says," said the girl who was one of them.
One of them.
"A human it is, my father announced with a distaste." She said while staring at the red Ruby on my neck. "He hates the red colour. Little does he remembers, it's his eyes that red. Not the world."
"Al-Alpha. . . King. . .Kingsto-"
She gasped at me. "Don't take his name. He'd hear you and we both will be in his eyes."
My tears dried on the cheeks and the new ones formed at her words.
"Even the birds wouldn't flap wings without his permission here," she whispered while looking in my eyes. She smiled again, showing me the canines. "I cannot wait you to do the rituals. Ah! The family will dance again. We had not danced since last two years. Since one of us died. . ."
Her eyes turned angry while she stared at me. "All of them, whoever arrives here every year. All of them resists at the ritual. If you do it too, father will kill." She said, emphasizing each word heavily, forcing her accent thick.
It sounded a mix of Russian and Posh English. I couldn't even care anymore. Everything was frightening rather than fascinating.
"A War would happen, he says." She nodded blankly. "We do it for the family. Now, you are family too."
She smiled again. For some reason, it seemed creepiest this time.
"Uncle would be dancing at the banks of river in delight. He has been roaming this territory like a rogue, all his life. He seems restless from past two days just like you."
My stomach churned and goosebumps risen all over my skin.
"I have never seen him like this," she said, chuckling like an innocent kid.
My nostrils flared while she tilted her head more and looked at me.
"What is your name?" She asked as if to revise it. As if she knew it already. "M. . ."
A sob broke out from me when she gasped and said, "Misty! Misty! How can I forget it? Every fourth tree on this territory has that name on it. Uncle is a mad rouge, mother always says."
I gulped hard, sobbing more.
She finally observed my sobs and straightened a little. "Oh! Aunt Misty. . . Why would you cry again? The others who did cry, were hurt. Father says, only cowards cry. . ."
I sniffled hard, lowering my head.
"Made solely for Uncle Karam is terrifying in itself. But if you are chosen for him, then you are not a coward at all." She said, howling lowly, making me flinch. "So, no tears, Aunt Misty!" She laughed, showing her canines and braids.
Her senseless words were making too much sense in my mind and it was numbing each vein in my body.
I was shaking in trauma.
The tears wouldn't stop.
The spine was chilled.
I was dying in fear of living the upcoming days and nights. I wanted to die.
Because the crazy waves of shivers over my heart wouldn't stop after having heard his name.
My soul was wanting to leave my body and run away. It was scared of its fate ahead.
The mind was full of echoes.
Karam.

Thank you for all the great comments and scenes you all shared. My country is in lockdown too from tonight and it's scary. But soon, this will all pass. We will remember these days and nights like an unforgettable apocalypse movie.
We must stay at home, safe and clean, mentally and physically fit, smiling and dancing.
No panicking. Only alarmed and positive for a better future.
Hope, you all liked the update.
