Sunny day
A/N: a quick, no-edits-allowed five-minutes-only poem; rough around the edges to say the least
I miss the summer days of years long gone
Hiding from the sun under tree's canopies
I miss when freckles made me cute
I miss when every breath felt like a breeze
But now here we stand
Taller than before
And I'm not sure I know who you are anymore
Our wild strawberry-picking days are over
Now that we're older
I wish that I could turn back the time
To when happy and carefree
Were just normal emotions for me
Do you feel it too
The longing to skip and dance and sing like we used to
Because I sure do
Tell me who you are
And about where you've been
I hope we can get it together again
I hope we're not lost already
I hope we'll see another sunny day
