I took a photograph
Of you when we were younger
Not as callous
And more naive
You're laughing in it
With a daisy chain crown
And clouds sending dappled sunlight
Across your cheeks
Freckles dotted across your face
And your smile
Was so wide I thought your face would tear
I guess the wear
Has worn it away
But please one more smile
Just so that I can say
I made a masterpiece
Twice
When really you're the masterpiece
But I can only capture it
When you let me.
