MAXWELL KENNER HAD BEEN CONTINUING TO GLACE OVER AT JACK. Jack had chosen to sit in the back seat, with Max. Callum drove quickly.
"She said she wanted to punish them all," Jack speaks.
"It seems like the Glaskafig was just for one person," Callum speaks.
"What if she can make more? With her magic?" Max questioned.
"She would need billions of them. She's immensely powerful, but that's a big lift for a conjurer."
"What about her sons?" Max asked.
"No. They are shape-shifters." Callum answered. "I mean, honestly, the only place that has that kind of manufacturing capacity-"
"Look out!" Both Max and Jack called out. An arm watched to keep the other from keeping forward when Callum stepped hard on the break.
A small distance, likely a foot or two, was a piano. In the middle of the road.
"Okay, let's just, go around it," Max says.
But, both Callum and Jack got out of the vehicle, making Max follow in pursuit. "Fine. Yeah, let's just go out into the street, and follow the piano that wasn't there prior to us arriving." He says sarcastically.
The piano was being played.
"This something that happen to you a lot?" Jack asked Callum.
"Unexplained player pain in the middle of a German Highway. No. This is rare." Callum answered.
"So, see, this is the part we're we hope back into the vehicle and either drive around it, or, right through it," Max says.
The piano kept playing. Jack took a step forward, leaning forward to read the name on the box.
"It's for you," Callum told Jack.
"Chuck it into the woods," Max deadpanned.
"Well, I'm not touching that thing," Jack says, as he steps backs. "Just her back in the truck. We'll drive right around the haunted piano. Like Max said."
"We have to open it," Callum say.
"You would not survive a horror movie," Max shakes his head.
Jack sighs. "This...this is how it starts. You're doing it." He stepped back, pulling Max with him.
Callum walked closer, reaching over and pulling the top open. The paint playing intensified, the bomb dissonant, before it stoped.
"Oh, see?" Jack stepped back, when seeing the snow globe was inside the box. He sighed as he held his phone in his hand. "Dylan." He says.
Dylan has face-timed Jack. "Did you sent me this stupid present instead of coming to this thing?"
"Wait what?"
"Because if you don't want to come, I don't care."
"Wait, Dylan, that's not it." Max jumped to defend Jack.
"I wanted to be there. I really did." Jack says. "Then something-"
"Just stop, okay? You don't have to pretend because my mom is guilt-tripping you."
"I'm not pretending. I really want to find a way-"
"You never come to anything." Dylan cuts him off.
"Yeah, I...I know. I know."
"Whatever. I got to go. Just don't send me any more stupid gifts, okay?" Dylan snapped.
"Wait, wait. Dylan, what'd you mean by that?" Jack asked.
"What gift?" Max asked. They hadn't had time to do that. Max was going to suggest that, but, they hadn't had the time. Plus, he kinda hoped they would be there for Dylan in time.
"This thing," Dylan flipped the camera, showing the snow globe.
"Dylan whatever you do, don't touch it!" Max immediately says.
"Dylan, don't touch that. Wait!" Jack spoke.
"No, don't!" Callum called out.
But, Dylan reached into the box, taking a hold of it. "Do you seriously think that there's anything-"
"Dylan, listen to me. Put that down." Jack ordered, worryingly.
"Because I'm here to tell you that-" Dylan shook the object, just to prove his point. The project began to glow, and a confused look came to Dylan's face.
"What is this? What's going on?" Jack asked.
Dylan looked up, confused. Then back down at the screen. "What's happening?"
"Put that down!" Jack ordered. When the screen was overtaken by a blue light, and suddenly, Dylan was gone. His phone dropped to the floor. "Where'd he go? Where'd he go?"
"I don't know," Callum says.
When Jack looked at his phone before immediately picking the snow globe.
"Jack," both Callum and Max called out.
Snow started to fall, just above Jack. Callum stepped back. Max stepped forward, hoping to be able to get Jack to put the object down
"It's my kid," Jack says as he looks at the two. "Find me."
"No!" Max rushed forward, a hand clamping down on the snow globe, and his other hand in Jack's.
