MAXWELL 'MAX' KENNER BELIEVED THAT HIS BEST FRIEND; JACK O'MALLEY WAS ONE OF THE SMARTEST PEOPLE HE KNEW. Despite that, he found that his best friend could make incredibly stupid and reckless decisions.

Or, at the very least, decision that would hurt other people.

Maxwell, like all other years, had been invited to the family O'Malley Christmas party. Where it consisted of Jack's aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Maxwell frowned when seeing that Jack had seemed to disappear. The other typically never left his side.

Jack claimed that his cousins tried to steal his best friend at every holiday event.

So, Max went looking for him , only to discover, that most of Jack's cousins were also missing. The younger ones, the ones around and Jack's age. Not the ones we're of age to hang out with the adults.

It had taken Max a totally of twenty minutes to find the cousins, and it wasn't so much as he found them, as they found him.

"Your best friend is a jerk," the cousins said, arms crossed.

"What did he do?" Max furrows his eyebrows in confusion.

"Like we're gonna let you. He's annoying enough as it is, but if we told you what he told us? Never hear the end of it," the three walked off, leaving a confused Max in the dust.

"Max!" Jack called out, bouncing down the stairs in happiness,  and skipping one each time to get to his friend faster.

"Jack, what did you do?" Max asked, arms crossed over his chest in disapproval.

"What? Nothing," Jack answered.

"Your cousins said that you're being jerk."

A look of annoyance comes across Jack's face, a flare being aimed at his cousins. "Did they say why?"

"No.-"

"It's because I took the cartoon of eggnog that you like," Jack lies smoothly.

And, Max knows his best friend. Knows he's lying. About what? No clue.  He sighs. "Fine." He'll let it go.

"Come on! Let's go get the eggnog before they find it!" Jack began to pull Max to the kitchen.
