Chapter Ten (Final Chapter)

Clay's P.O.V.

I couldn't believe that Miranda and I kissed, and I was glad that she wanted to be with me after the drama with Skye. We kept staring at each other for what seemed like forever, and I could feel Miranda gently rest her head on my shoulder as we looked up at the stars on this December night. After a while, we decided that it was time that we made it back to the party, before people noticed that we were gone.

When we went back downstairs we saw that everyone was sitting around in a small circle with gift bags sitting in their laps. "What took you two so long?" Jeff asked. Miranda and I looked at each other, and we just smiled. "Oh, it's nothing. We just lost track of time while we were talking," she answered. Jeff nodded understandingly, and he told us where our presents were. Coincidentally, Miranda and I were sitting next to each other. We glanced over at each other for a few seconds before looking down at our gift bags.

Jeff gave us the cue to open our gifts, and when I dipped my hands into the bag, I felt a large and bulky shape touch my hand. I pulled it out from underneath the white tissue paper. and I saw that it was a picture of me, Hannah, and Miranda in a beautiful silver frame with the message, "Best Friends Forever," I had a good idea about who the gift was from, but I wasn't exactly sure if it was from Hannah or Miranda.

"So, what did you guys get?" Jeff asked once everyone finished opening their gifts. "I got a new Liberty High jacket! I needed a new one!" Justin smiled as he showed everyone the new jacket. "So, who got Justin the jacket?" Jeff asked. Jessica slowly raised her hand, and she started grinning from ear to ear when Justin's eyes met hers. "Thank you so much, Jess," he smiled. Everyone continued to show off what they got, and the identities of their Secret Santa's were revealed.

Finally, it was my turn to show off the picture frame to the others. "I have an idea about who this may be from, but I'm not sure who it is," I smiled. "Well, who do you think it is?" Jeff asked. Hannah and Miranda smiled at me, and it was a tough call trying to figure out who it was from because both of them were in the picture with me. "Miranda, did you give me this?" I asked. She started grinning from ear to ear and nodded her head.

"Your right!" she smiled. I felt her wrap her arms around my back as I pulled her into another hug. "Thank you, it's beautiful," I muffled into her shoulder. When we pulled apart, Miranda showed everyone what she got. It was a beautiful sterling silver charm bracelet with a few charms on it. A small cup of coffee, a book, a silver heart, and a blue snowflake hung from the silver chain.

"Miranda, that's a beautiful bracelet," Hannah said. The others nodded in agreement, and I could feel my cheeks turn a bright pink that I was trying so hard to hide. Jeff looked over at me and nodded slightly, knowing that I was the one who got her the bracelet. I had to work extra shifts at The Crestmont to save enough money to get her the bracelet. "Like Clay, I have a pretty good idea of who got me this," She said as she unhooked the bracelet and slid it onto her wrist.

"Well, who got Miranda the bracelet?" Jeff asked the group even though he knew the answer. I silently counted to three, and I slowly raised my hand, my cheeks turning a brighter pink. "Clay, thank you, this is perfect!" Miranda smiled, and I could see happy tears starting to form in her eyes.

"Your welcome, Miranda," I smiled as I gently took my hand in hers and planted a soft but quick kiss on her lips. I heard the others start cheering, and Miranda and I's cheeks turned bright red. "Alright, now what are we going to do for the rest of the party?" Jeff asked. Miranda stood up and walked over to the stereo and popped in a CD, and the stereo started playing that familiar song I listened to every single year. All I want for Christmas is you.

Miranda took my hand and helped me stand up, and soon all of us started dancing around the basement, spinning and twirling and holding our significant other. Soon, Miranda and I became exhausted and took a seat on the stairs and talked as we caught our breath. "Hey, look up there!" Miranda said, pointing to the ceiling. I looked up as well and saw that we were right underneath the mistletoe.

"Jeff had me put it up there," I chuckled softly. "Well, we have to follow tradition," She smiled. She gently wrapped a hand around the back of my neck and slowly leaned in until her lips met mine. "Merry Christmas, Clay," she whispered as the music continued in the background. "Merry Christmas, Miranda," I whispered back before pulling her into another kiss.
