"Have you heard the news?" Finn asked as he ran down the hall, stopping at my side.

He had a goofy smile on his face, but I could tell whatever he was about to tell me wasn't going to make me that happy.

"What did you do?" I raise an eyebrow, closing my locker and turning to him.

He rolls his eyes. "I didn't do anything, what do you take me for?"

"An idiot." I chuckle and he sighs. "Now spill, what's the news?"

"There was a poll on Twitter last night for the cutest couple in school, and guess who won." He smirked.

My eyes widen. "Don't you say it."

"We did!" He cheers, throwing his hands up in the air.

"You idiot, we're not a couple. Why do people keep thinking that?" I roll my eyes, rubbing my temples soothingly.

"Because, Cupcake." Finn started, slinging his arm around my shoulder and beginning to walk down the hall. "It's pretty obvious you have a crush on me."

I scoff. "In your wildest dreams."

"I'd like to tell you about my wildest dreams, but I need to stay PG while in school."

"You're disgusting."

"So are you, Cupcake." Finn yelled as he let go of me, speeding off down the hall.

I chuckle.

What an idiot.

"No way, Panic! At The Disco is the best band of all time." I state, turning the corner of the hallway.

Natalia scoffs. "I wouldn't go that far."

I whip my head to look at her, giving her the stare.

"Excuse me?" I ask slowly.

"I mean, Panic! Is good and all, but Imagine Dragons is better."

I close my eyes for a moment and take a deep breath. "Did you just disrespect Brendon Urie?"

"No, I just said Imagine Dragons is better than Panic!." Natalia stated over again, as if her words didn't just spit acid.

"Oh no." I chuckle. "Are you high? Did someone drug you? No one is better than Brendon.

Natalia laughs. She opens her mouth to reply but another voice cuts her off.

"Hello, ladies." Finn's voice says from my left just as I approach my locker.

I turn my head to see Finn and Harvey walking towards us, Finn with his smirk plastered on his face.

I smile and shake my head.

"Hello, boys." I reply as they come to a stop.

"Hey, we're not boys. We're men." Finn says, lifting his arms to flex his muscles.

"Really? Because I don't see much on those noodle arms." I smirk, making Finn narrow his eyes at me.

"Ha ha." He says sarcastically. "You know you want to feel my muscles."

"I'd rather touch a donkey's ass." I scoff.

"I see why everyone thinks you're dating. You flirt like crazy." We both stop talking and turn out heads towards Harvey.

"No we don't." I defend, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I wouldn't flirt with her if she was the last girl on Earth." Finn states, smirking evilly at me.

"I wouldn't flirt with you if-"

"Zara?" Someone says, cutting me off from awesome comeback.

It felt like my heart completely stopped beating. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't move, I couldn't speak. Everything around me was in slow motion.

Then my heart started beating again, but faster than what is healthy.

I noticed Natalia had turned and her eyes were wide. Harvey stood there confused, Finn switching his gaze between me and the person behind me.

I turn around, going slowly as if stalling would deny the inevitable.

The one person I never thought I'd see again was standing in front of me, as if nothing ever changed.

But everything did change, and I don't think I could ever forgive him.

He smile the wicked smile that sent shivers down my spine.

"Fancy seeing you here." He said, shoving his hands in the front pockets of his jeans.

I open my mouth to speak, but nothing came out so I closed it. I did think over and over again for what felt like hours, but I'm sure it was only a few seconds.

"Parker?" I eventually spit out. I probably look like a deer caught in headlights.

"I thought you changed schools." He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I thought you were in juvy." He scoffs.

"I was." He smiled, taking a step closer to me. "I was let out on good behavior."

I quickly take a step back, bumping into Finn's chest. Normally, I would've said something sarcastic and move away but all I wanted right now was for Finn to hold me.

"D-Don't take another step." I stutter of my words, swallowing the lump in my throat.

"Why, baby?" He smirks, taking another step.

"She said back up." Finn's voice roared, making me jump in shock.

I've never heard Finn so angry.

He must've noticed how skittish I was, because he placed his hands on my shoulders.

Parker looked up from my face to look at Finn, who was considerably taller than me.

He stared at him for a while and I could efel Finn's chest rising and falling fast.

His lips slowly turned up into another smile, but his eyes were emotionless.

"Excuse me?" Parker said, raising his eyebrow.

"You better back the hell up before I make you."

Parker stared at Finn for a couple seconds before he laughed slightly, nodding his head.

"Fine." He said quietly.

His eyes fell down to mine and I felt my heart stop again. He smiled once more before turning around and walking down the hallway.

I didn't move. I just stood there, my back pressed against Finn's chest, shaking.

I didn't realize how many people were watching us until I finally broke my stare down the hall. Everyone was watching me carefully, as if I was about to shatter like glass.

I quickly back away from Finn, wiping the tear that had slipped.

"Zara." I look up at Finn's concerned eyes. "Who was that?"

I took a breath, my inhale shaky as I felt more tears coming on.

"My boyfriend."

But school is back in session and I have a free period this year so I can write AND pass my classes. xD
