Chapter 1 | Everything's Fine

Patton stared at his trembling hands as he thought about the events that were occurring, the Sander Sides are having an inner conflict about Thomas and his now ex-boyfriend taking a break. Patton just sits there. He didn't know what to say.
"HE'S CALLING ME WHAT DO I DO?!" Thomas began to freak out as his ex-boyfriend calls.
"Don't pick it up, obviously..." Virgil groaned, trying not to go into a full anxiety attack.
"PICK IT UP!" Roman said, his heart soaring, wanting another chance at true love.
Thomas looked at Patton for guidance, who said nothing. He sighed and answered the phone. After a few minutes Thomas hung up. Nothing had changed, they had a brief chat... as friends. Roman sulked into his room, Logan went back to making his lit vocab cards, Virgil well he went back to moping in his room. Patton, well, he just stood there. Staring at his feet.
Thomas looked at him, "why didn't you help me?!"
        "W-What?" Patton asked, trembling.
"Why didn't you help me, you're supposed to be all my hopes and dreams and you just left me hanging! I wanted your help and you just left me hanging Patton... what was that for?!" Thomas asked, not trying to be rude.
"I just froze, I feel like all the other sides helped you more than I ever could..." Patton smiled weakly.
"I needed you Patton, you failed me..."
"I'm sorry kiddo..." Patton sunk down and into his room.
Had he really failed Thomas? Was he a failure? He didn't know what to do anymore. All the memories swarmed around his head, his room was filled with them after all. He couldn't escape. No one was there. He was alone. Patton hated to be alone, but this time, he wasn't afraid. He was angry. Angry at himself for not helping. For not saying anything. HE SHOULD'VE SAID SOMETHING! Patton had punched his wall, his hand was red and starting to bruise. His phone dinged. Patton reached for it with his other, uninjured hand.

😈Virgil😈: Hey Pat, are you okay?
🍪Patton🍪: Of course I am, why wouldn't I be okay kiddo?
😈Virgil😈: idk, it's just you really didn't have much to say, normally you would. It's not like you.
🍪Patton🍪: I think the conversation went well.
😈Virgil😈: Me having a panic attack and Thomas calling his ex-boyfriend is a good conversation?!
🍪Patton🍪: .......
😈Virgil😈: Patton, I'm worried about you...
🍪Patton🍪: I'm fine, everything's fine.
//🍪Patton🍪 left the chat//

Patton looked down, he felt bad for being rude to Virgil, but what was he supposed to say? That he was upset over past memories, that he felt like a failure. That everything he had ever done wasn't good enough?! Was that what he was supposed to say? He didn't want to worry anyone. He was scared. Patton was supposed to be the happy, sunshine, cookie-loving weirdo. The one who was supposed to make everyone happy. How was he supposed to make everyone happy, if he wasn't even happy himself?
