Chapter Nine: In Which Lives are Lost

Finally! A freaking chapter!!  Also, there's going to be some gore and death that's described a little and cursing. Just putting a warning!

Yuna Wayne

To be honest, I'm not the greatest traveler. Scratch that, I'm a horrible traveler.

The comfort of my cushioned headphones had begun to sting my ears and my bangs are matted on my forehead with sweat. My hands shook and I began to take deep, relaxing breaths.

"Everything's okay, the tunnels will not collapse, the trains won't get robbed, everything's going to be fine!" I whispered to myself, desperately trying to calm my nerves.

The Travel Tunnels are high-speed trains, basically. They use magnetic force and friction to travel at extremely fast speeds without the passengers suffering any injuries, but it's expensive to afford a trip. Extremely.

Imagine my surprise when a barely legal bounty hunter like me, (who supposedly has quite the reputation), is called up by the freaking government , and offered a job that pays millions to hunt down a single fallen angel. I kill fallen angels for a living with barely pay, and then this special angel appears and her death pays millions! Millions!

Honestly, those crazy officials are losing what's left of their damn sanity.

Supposedly this crazy chick is called 'Yandere~Chan'. She allegedly murdered a lot of other people to keep this random boy single. A lot of people think it was just a random killing spree. It was still death though, so she was banished from the gates of heavens, her holy title revoked.

(OK, that sounded really religious. I'm not trying to offend anyone who practice different religions that are described in this story. Hope I didn't offend anyone!)

"Ma'am, you look a little nervous, are you sure you want to take Tunnel E-5? It's the fastest train engineered so far," a young man in a uniform asked.

I sighed, slipping off my headphones to hear him better. I shook my head and clicked my tongue.

"For your information, I'm perfectly capable of riding any tunnel I want. And I am not nervous!" I hissed. The man looked a little taken back, but reluctantly continued to read my ticket. He pursed his lips and frowned.

"Problem?!" I heatedly asked. "W-well, ma'am, the area you wish to sit in is government personnel and I don't see a signature here," the man said, stuttering a bit.

I swung out my official recognition badge as a bounty hunter that also had government signature on the corner, and my notice which allowed me to travel to Earth.

"Oh! A-ah, go in M-Mrs. Wayne," he mumbled, eyes wide. I stepped into the Travel Tunnel's now open door with a slight grin tracing my lips. I loved people's reaction when they realized who I am.

Yuna Wayne, professional bounty hunter and kill of about seventy criminals and fallen angels. Especially fallen angels.

And on that note, as the train began speeding off, I threw up in my barf bag.

Yay.

***

As I stepped off the train, a wave of relief washed over me. I let out a huge breath and wiped my slightly sweaty hands on my black skirt.

I had fallen asleep in the Travel Tunnel and somehow slid under my seat. Not the most comfortable position to wake up in, mind you, and when I woke up the train was empty.

The station looked eerily empty, though that's not surprising since travel to Earth without government permission. The air smelled funny with a strange lingering taste. I sniffed again. It smelled a little metallic as well, and in a sense their was the small of raw meat.

It seemed a little suspicious, but I may have been smelling remaining puke in my mouth. I slowly walked towards the back of the train where my luggage was.

The back train cart was basically a small, black box attached to the Travel Tunnel with a large door on the back. I grabbed the door's handle and attempted to swing it open, but it wouldn't open.

"Dammit! Come on!" I muttered. Placing my foot on the train cart, I pulled with all my might. I definitely didn't have waves of rolling muscles, but I wasn't a stick figure either. Angrily I pounded the door before deciding to find the nearest employee and demand the door is opened.

The station only really had two other rooms I could see. I stomped towards the first one, a ticket stand built into the wall.

"Hey, open the door-" I stopped yelling when I realized the stand was empty. The metallic smell was stronger and it didn't take a genius to realize something was wrong. I peered closed into the stand and gasped as I spotted a streak of red decorating the wall.

It was blood.

This put me on high alert and I quickly summoned my two swords I had affectionately named Flame and Fire.

The closer I got to the second room, a staff only room, the metallic smell slowly became overwhelming and the meat smell got stronger.

I held my swords together and ran forwards, reducing the door to a mangled, burnt mess.

I wish I hadn't walked in to that room. I should have just left, I only had a set of clothes and a small toiletry kit in that suitcase. The rest of my stuff was being delivered to a small apartment I had rented. I should have just walked out of that damned station.

But of course, I didn't.

The first thing I noticed in the room was the splatters of red everywhere. I put Flame away and summoned a fire in my hand for light and screamed. I screamed and covered my mouth with my hand  to stop my screams.

The first body I noticed was a little girl's. The driver brought along his daughter because he couldn't find a babysitter and his wife was dead. She walked around offering snacks to everyone, and when someone bought a snack she would smile and hug them.

Her head was barely attached to her head still, hanging by a small, bloody thread. Her eyes, no eye, was wide open, her mouth frozen in a scream. Her left eye was nestled backwards in her eye socket.

The next body was a young man who was being sent to investigate the selling of illegal magic. The man, whose name was Eren, was a detective who had just moved on from being an apprentice. It was first time coming to Earth and he puked more than I did.

His chest was open, blood and chest cavities slowly oozing out of it. He had his eyes squeezed open, his mouth pressed down in a straight line. His body was shielding the third body.

She was a teenage girl, no older then eighteen. I never caught her name, but we talked a bit. She was the daughter of a government official who was helping to attempt to establish a base on Earth. She was visiting her father to spend time with him and help.

She was curled up into a ball, covering her face with one arm. The other looked shredded, like someone had taken bites out of it. Her body was lined with buries and cuts and a chunk of her hair was missing from her scalp.

The fourth body was the driver. We didn't really speak, but his daughter said his wife died a year ago, but he held up well. She said he was really nice and I remember he gave the teenager a free bottle of water because she lost her wallet.

It looked like he had been trying to run to his daughter, but never made it. His arm was reaching to her, but his hand was missing all of it's skin. You could clearly see bone under the thin layer of flesh. His clothes were ripped in several places and his right leg had chunks missing from it.

The last body was a boy who looked younger than the teenage girl, but older then the driver's daughter. He was a human angel hybrid, very uncommon, and was visiting his human mother. He had fought along with his father and friends for a very long time for the right to visit his moth whom he hadn't seen in years.

He would never see her.

His head was placed neatly on his lap, his arms torn off completely and his knees and down missing. He had a sad look on his face, eyes closed, mouth slightly open and forming a frown. His cheeks looked a little wet, like he was crying.

All of them were dead.

People I hadn't known, but still talked to, were dead.

An innocent little girl. A young man finally achieving a dream. A daughter visiting a father and helping a world. A father who recently lost a light in his life and was trying to rebuild. A son who fought so hard to see a loved one.

A clicking sound drew my attention away from the bodies. A woman with messy hair and wide eyes came into view. She had angel's wings, but they were torn at the edges and stained with grey and black.

A fallen angel and presumably these people's killers.

"Like my work? I do, I do! It's pretty! They boy's holding his head nicely! Haha, it's funny! And the look at the small girl's eye! It's backwards, haha! Haha, it's pretty!" she giggled, her left eye twitching.

"What the fuck!?" I yelled. "This isn't fucking funny, bitch! They're dead!"

The fallen angel looked startled for a second, but then she began giggling again. "She's jealous! She's jealous! Haha, I'll decorate you too! Haha, are you messy or neat. Haha, I think you're neat like the boy! Hehe, it's funny, haha!" she laughed.

The fallen angel sped towards me at an incredible speed, mumbling things. I put away my fire and summoned Flame back again. I held my two swords in front of me as a shield and threw her back.

"Ooh! She's mean, owie, owie! Haha, Ori thinks it's funny! Owie, owie!" my opponent shrieked. Immediately I recognized the name.

Ori was a fallen angel thrust out of Heaven for killing hundreds in a hospital. Her mental condition was horrible before, but her sanity had definitely decreased. I glared at her, feeling a itch in my right eye.

This bitch was dead.

Fire and flame erupted into fire and I charged forwards. Ori giggled again and ran towards me, her hands hardening into blades.

I sliced Flame towards her, but she grabbed it and attempted to yank it away. I let her grab it and immediately Flame exploded in her face. I grinned and spun around, my purple hair spinning with me and threw Fire at Ori.

She held her hands in front of her and Fire bounced off of them. I hissed it frustration and ran at her, fire in hand. I thrust the fire into her chest, but at the same time I felt something painfully pointy penetrate the skin near my chest. I say Ori smile and disappear.

Without Fire or Flame I couldn't properly summon a curse, but I had to try. I clasped my hands together and breathed.

"Great Gods of Ospen, lend me your healing and destruction," I whispered. I felt my wound closing, but it stopped halfway. I summoned my flames and saw they had gain a bluish tint instead of their usual black. The spell half worked.

I began madly throwing fireballs at Ori. Her hands protected her mainly, so as I threw a large fireball, I moved quickly to the behind of my opponent. With a large breath I pushed both of my hands in front of me, blazing with energy.

There was a squishing sound and my hands felt the cool air. Time seemed to slow down.

I tore my hands out of Ori's body.

She fell to the floor.

She laughed.

"Haha, I'm dying. Haha." Ori turned over to stare at me. "You're strong. Haha, no one killed me. Haha, should I-"

I plunged a newly regenerated Flame in her chest, creating a second wound. I tended to ignore last words before the guilt seeped in. There was no guilt now.

I looked at the bodies.

Yuna Wayne, proffesional bounty hunter and killer of about seventy one criminals and fallen angels. Especially fallen angles.

A/N- ANd now I present to you a chapter. Finally. This is Yuna's entrenace, which was much longer then expected. I was actually going to add more, but it got too long. But I finally updated! Now for the contest...

1. Funneh tripped over a potato.

2. She actually said/commented a lot, but when asked she said Noragami (YATOOOOO) and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (I know, Saiki. I love coffee jelly too)

3. So, I thinks it's unfair, but the first title for this story was Ascend. I changed it, like, five minutes after this story came out, so if you wrote Angelic it's OK.

4. Ender.

5. 21

6. Gold/ Kim

7. Five dollars.

8. Reese's

9. This one is also unfair in a way, because in Chapter Five I grabbed a Levi body pillow, not hugged it. It was in the author's note, btw.

So, the winner is... drum roll please... *gets no drum roll bc is sad and no one likes meh*...

@Lu_Meo! (Is tags working? IDK, halp). I feel really guilty because I'm probably stupid and Lunar said a lot of animes in her Q n A, but she said the ones I was thinking. (I said she because I assumed you were a girl from your profil pic. I apoligize if you're not a she). You can PM me your wish or say it in the comments, if you want it to be public.

Also, @ProudPlebyPerson made a good point and said I should have told everyone to PM me the answers, but I forgot to change it and people had already written their guesses, so I didn't. Sorry.

So, bye then! Stay awesome!

(I totally did a crappy job halp I'm so pathetic NEEEEEEE)
