Ch 41:Doubts and Rising Trouble
Third Person's POV
The laboratory of Professor Kukui wasn't much of a laboratory at first sight. It seemed to be more of a small home cottage than one. Sun and Luna have been inside only one or twice while Lillie had been living there for a few months now.
Lillie indicated the two to follow her up a ladder that gave way for a 'room' at an upper panel. It was small but enough for Lillie and that is what mattered to her. Her whole life might have been full with luxuries but it wasn't a happy one. For that reason, she appreciated the most little possible and the happiness that it would grant her in return.
Lillie sat down and snapped her fingers. Luna and Sun knew, by just giving one look at the green eyed female, that they shouldn't go against her will because right now she was not the Lillie they knew.
The blonde girl was narrowing her eyes down at both Sun and Luna. She wasn't going to take their stubbornness right now and neither will she deal with whole Alola knowing about their small 'sibling' argument.
"Now, if both of you have anything else to say for each other, if you even want to fight against each other then fine, But do so when you guys are alone and not in front of an audience!" She snapped. Sun flinched. Lillie looked at Luna.
"Sun has the right to know. We all do. While you were out doing Arceus knows what, Sun went crazy and even went up to the point to head to my brother's motel room. Not only that but he was practically dying. Dying. So yeah, Sun is pissed but he worries for you and we also worry for you. Heck even Gladion was calling you and was worried, no matter how much he wants to deny it." She said. Luna said nothing.
In reality, Luna hadn't checked her phone at all. She knew Poni Island had barely enough places to receive any signal, which is why she decided to not try checking it while being there. When she had signal, she just decided to ignore her phone and turn it off. All this time, not once did she think that they were trying to reach her.
Seeing that Luna wouldn't say anything, she turned to Sun. He flinched once more. 'I am not ready for my own scolding.' He thought.
"Now you. Sun, as much as I support you with this, I definitely do not support you yelling at Luna, much less in the middle of the beach where everyone and anyone can hear you. Yelling won't solve anything and it will not be more affective if you do it where whole Alola can hear you!" She snapped. He jumped and held his hands up in surrender.
"Yes I can see that now, so please stop scolding me." He pleaded. Lillie puffed her cheeks.
"Well at least you admit you did something wrong." She said and turned back to Luna. "What about you Luna?" She asked.
"I technic-"
"Don't you dare say technically, because you have fault as well Luna." She snapped before Luna could finish her statement. Seeing that she couldn't say anything to defend herself against the blondie, she held her tongue back and nodded. Lillie left it at that.
"Now that we got that covered. Do any of you want anything eat?" She asked, going back to her usual demeanor and went down the ladder. Luna and Sun looked at each other.
"There is Lillie." Sun commented and stood up. Luna looked up to him.
"Were you really that worried?" She asked. He looked down at her.
"Of course I was. As Lillie said, I even went to the extent of going to Gladion's motel room to get answers of where you were." He replied.
"Why were you suddenly worried? I have disappeared often, you guys should be used to this. Why get worried when I do it all the time?" She asked.
"Something in me told me that you were in danger. Lillie and Hau were with me when I suddenly felt fear come over me, looming, trying to...warn me. I knew right then something was wrong and it was with you." He explained. Luna was about to say something when Lillie called them to get down and eat something. 'Might as well eat something. I haven't really eaten all day.' She thought and stood up, going down the ladder.
Luna's POV
When me and Sun left, it was already night time. We had hung out and talked over random stuff. I was a little bit uncomfortable though, Lusamine told me before I went out still was in my head.
'How am I suppose to do this? How? I can't. No, I have to. I can't prolong this any longer.' I thought as I was parting ways with Sun.
"Hey, when are you doing your trail?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow.
"Why do you want to know?" I asked.
"I was just wondering if you wanted us to do it together, like go together to Olivia. I asked Lillie if she would like to join me and she agreed, so would you like to?" He asked. I thought for a moment. 'I could try and use this as an opportunity.'
"Sure. It wouldn't hurt. When will this be?" I asked. He thought for a moment.
"A day after tomorrow. Will that be good for you?" He asked.
"I think it will be fine. Then sure. What time?" I asked.
"Noon should be good." He said.
"Alright then. I'll wait for you at Route 9." I said and then parted ways with him. I walked a few meters down the beach and then decided to call my Charizard Pager. As I waited for them, I decided to sit down on the sand and call out Gladias. He looked around and then went up to me.
"Sorry that I didn't manage to take you out bud." I said as I petted him and gave him some Rainbow Pokébeans. He gladly ate them down.
"I'm not sure what to do anymore." I said softly. He stopped and looked at me. "I am suppose to follow orders, but I haven't really done so. Not only that, but I have started to get attached with the Blondie and Edgelord. That is not ok. I can't have emotions interfere. There is also Sun. I am worried that if things get too far, then I might have to kill him." I said. Gladias shook his head. I frowned.
"Gladias I haven't been completely honest with you. I technically kill for a living." I said as I looked down towards the water of the ocean. I saw my reflection, but not my reflection exactly. The one looking back to me was not Luna, it was Diana, my other half.
I don't remember when it started but when I realized it, I had done a second personality. I wouldn't say I had a split personality. I would say I had two halves, one who is known as Luna and the other known as Diana. Both are me but they are two. Who do I relate to more? I am not sure.
"Diana, the Ice Assassin, admin of Team Skull next to Plumeria and Guzma. Luna, daughter of ones who died years ago by an Ultra Beast, a girl who lost everything. Everyone has seen one half, either Luna or Diana, but no one has known both...until now.
The walls I have done, are slowly crumbling down. I am not sure if it is because soon I will have what I have so much fought for, or because I met them. Maybe it's both, but I really rather the reason to be the the first one." I said. Gladias looked down to my reflection and then licked my face. I smiled weakly.
"You are innocent. You don't deserve to even be here with me." I said. He nuzzled himself against me.
"I don't know what to do anymore. The clock is ticking and soon, I will have what I wanted for so many years and I will have to confront Sun with the rest." I said. Gladias ate the last Pokébean and then looking up, growling lightly. Luna looked up as well and sighed.
"Don't worry, it's just my Charizard Pager." I explained and grabbed his Pokéball. "Return." I said. The red light surrounded him and took him into the confines of the ball. I ran my thumb over the silver surface. 'In just a matter of weeks, I will have to give you up as well.' I thought. I sighed and walked up to Charizard, getting on.
-TWO DAYS LATER:NOON-
I was playing with Gladias's Pokéball when I saw the Blondie and Sun in the distance. The moment I did, I placed away the Pokéball into my pouch. I wasn't going to take any chances with the Blondie.
"Hey sis!" Sun called out. I flinched and narrowed my eyes at him.
"Do I have to remind you to not take those comments about us being related to your head?" I scolded. He pouted.
"I won't go back on my statement, so deal with it." He said.
"Please don't start another argument." Lillie grunted.
"We won't." He assured. "Putting that aside though, we need to go to Konikoni City. I was informed that I should look for Olivia there." He said.
"She owns an accessory shop there and Konikoni City is her home town, it is only reasonable she would be there 24/7." I explained.
"Perks of having an Alola expert with us." Sun said with a grin. Before I could retort, he took a hold of both my wrist and the Blondie's and sprinted towards the direction of KoniKoni City. When I managed to screw my wrist out of his grasp, I gave him a hit on the head.
"Ey!! That hurts you know?!" He snapped.
"Serves you right! Don't ever do that. I hate being touched by a male, I have a very strong reason for that! Now respect that or you will get another hit, and you will not like where that is directed to!" I snapped. He rose his hands in surrender. I scowled and looked around.
"We should find her accessory shop around here." I said.
"Isn't it that one?" The Blondie asked. I looked over to where she was pointing at and nodded.
"Yeah, I am pretty sure it is. I haven't really been here in Akala for a while now." I said as I recalled that the shop looked a bit more different than what I remembered.
The three of us went up and entered the shop. There were many accessories of many kinds and some clothing. An employee came up to us and asked if we were searching for something especially.
"We are searching for Kahuna Olivia." Sun said.
"Ohh, well...Kahuna Olivia currently is away at the Ruins of Life. I am not sure how long she will be away." They said. Soon a customer asked them a question and they excused themselves before leaving us.
"Well that is just fantastic." I muttered.
"Can we have a look around before we go after Olivia?" The Blondie asked.
"Sure." Sun immediately answered. She beamed with happiness and started looking around. I sighed.
"Aren't you going to join her?" Sun asked.
"I am not one to be a shopper for this stuff." I replied.
"Aren't you into art?" He asked. I looked at him.
"I am. Why do you ask?" I said.
"Because I see some art stuff over there." He informed. I turned over towards where he was referring to and started to make my way there.
I looked through a box with acrylic paint and started seeing which one seemed like a new color I still didn't own. As I was doing so, I saw that at the bottom of the box there seemed to be something. I wouldn't have noticed it if it weren't for a near by window letting some sun rays in to pinpoint the object at the bottom. I placed down the bottles of paint I had in my hands on the ground and started to dig out the object.
After a few minutes, I finally got it out. It was a glass sun catcher with a sun, moon, and a six pointed star. The three were dangling down from one hanger. The moon was transparent white, the sun was stained yellow glass, and the star was stained with multiple colors but all of them combined seemed to make the star black. The metal holding the three shapes to the hanger were decorated with various glass crystals, as well as the hanger itself with some more metal to add more decoration.
"I think I found wha-woah. That sun catcher is beautiful." The Blondie said with awe as she walked up to me.
"It is." I affirmed. I looked over it, not seeing a price tag on it. I turned to the cashier.
"Excuse me, how much is the sun catcher?" I asked. She looked at it.
"Does it have a tag on it?" She asked.
"I wouldn't really be asking if it did, wouldn't I?" I asked. She apologized and indicated me to bring it over. When I did, she examined it.
"Well it's made of glass, some is stained in color, not to mention how intricate it is. It should be about 4,000 Pokédollars." She informed. I looked at it, a little hesitant. 'I'm not one to spend much on interior decoration.' I thought.
"Do you have the money?" The Blondie asked.
"I do, but-"
"Come on Luna, you want it. I think you should get it." Sun inquired.
"It is a one of a kind. Kahuna Olivia did say she made it out of crystals from Exeggutor Island." The cashier commented.
"See? Even more of a reason to buy it . Plus, it is technically calling out your name. It has a moon and your name is just moon in Latin. Buy it or I will buy it for you." He said. I groaned but chuckled.
"Ugh, fine. I'll buy it." I said. The cashier nodded and checked it out. I gave her the money and she carefully wrapped the sun catcher with paper and gently placed it inside a bag. She handed the bag to me and I reached for it, making sure I took a good hold of it so it wouldn't fall. The Blondie then payed for her own stuff and we headed out the store.
"I think it was a nice buy. I would like one too but not with celestial objects." The Blondie said. I eyed her.
"What would the sun catcher have?" I asked.
"Well, it would have a lily, gladiolus, and amaryllis." She replied.
"I can see why the first two but why the last one? And what the heck is an amaryllis?" Sun asked.
"An amaryllis is a type of lily. In other words, another flower." I explained.
"Ahh, so I am guessing that is the reason, since they all are related." He said.
"Yeah, in one way, yes." She said. I raised an eyebrow. 'Amaryllis? The Edgelord once crouched down towards an amaryllis and now the Blondie wants one on a sun catcher. The code from Aether was also the name of that lily. What is so important about this flower, that even Lusamine finds it critical to incorporate in Aether?' I thought.
We were now near the outskirts of Akala. I turned from the Blondie towards Sun.
"Would you mind if I placed the bag inside your backpack? It would be easier to carry around. When we part ways, I'll take it from your hands." I said. He smiled.
"Sure." He agreed and opened up his backpack. I placed it inside and closed up the bag.
"It won't be too heavy, right?" I asked. He shook his head and placed his backpack back on.
"Let's just go through and get to the Ruins of Life, we are nearly there." Lillie said. I then felt something or someone watching us. I stopped. They turned to me, confused of my actions.
"What's the matter?" Sun asked.
"Someone is here." I said. Lillie was about to say something when Sun placed his own guard up. He placed himself in front of her, ready to protect her.
"No, she is right. Someone is here. I can feel it as well." He said and took out a Pokéball.
"Sun, be patient." I warned.
"You should take the girl's advice." I heard a familiar voice say. 'Oh for the name of Arceus.' I thought annoyed and a bit worried.
"Who are you?!" Sun demanded.
"Sun." I warned.
"If you insist." She said. I looked up with Sun and down came the one person I wouldn't have expected to see today.
"I am Plumeria, Admin of Team Skull and you, did a grave mistake messing with my little brothers and sisters." She introduced herself, glaring at Sun. I took Lillie's writs and hit her behind me.
"Stay behind." I ordered. She nodded. As if things couldn't get worse, the small little cloud did a 'pew' from the bag. I glared at the bag.
"Can you ask Nebby to quite down?" I whispered.
"He doesn't really do what I ask him to do." She replied in a soft voice. I growled lightly.
"Nebby don't you dare do a peep more." I warned to the little Ultra Beast.
"I'll handle this, I have dealt with Team Skull already." Sun said, getting ready for a battle.
"She is not like those stupid grunts or the Edgelord. She is an admin, meaning that she is a good trainer. She has a powerful team." I warned.
"This will just be a warm up for the trail." He said with a smirk. 'This kid. Does he really think he can defeat Plumeria?' I thought. He turned to her.
"If you are here for a battle, then I will gladly take you on." He said. Plumeria frowned.
"You must be the most stupidest kid I have ever met." She muttered and called out her first Pokémon, Golbat.
"Don't interfere Luna. Keep Lillie safe." Sun said and called out his Dartrix. Plumeria gave me a glance, one that said, 'I am not going easy on him.'
