Ch 30: Kepping Things to Ourselves
Luna's POV
"And that is how you make it." He said. I raised an eyebrow.
"Ok explain that again but with an actual procedure and ingredients." I said.
"This is the fifth time. Sun are you sure you can't remember anything else?" The Edgelord asked annoyed.
"That's how my mum explains it. I am starting to think that it was a way for me to get off her hair." He said. I facepalmed. This kid.
"Sun without the actual procedure and ingredients I can't do it." I said. He gave a small pout face.
"Then how about I just give you the name of the dish and you can search it up in your phone or something?" He suggested.
"We could have done that minutes ago." I heard the Edgelord groan out.
"Stop whining, at least he tried to help." I snapped. He looked over his shoulder and gave me a slight glare.
"I thought you said that he wasn't your brother, so why are you defending him? Do you actually like your twin or something?" He asked with a smirk. I grabbed a spatula near me and threw it towards his head, but he managed to grab it before it hit him. A small shock went through my body. 'Even I don't have that fast reflexes.'
"I have good reflexes." He said while throwing it back to me. I caught it, just barely. 'Does he train them or does it just come naturally?' I asked myself but didn't ask him.
"Seems like all those blindfolded sessions paid off somehow." The Blondie said. He looked at her.
"And the darts as well. Though I don't have that great of an aim, I can't do it with my eyes closed." He said. 'Yeah he trains them.'
"She did though." The Blondie said. I wasn't sure if it was only me but for some reason I heard sadness in her voice. I looked at them, seeing the Blondie looking down at her hands and the Edgelord looking out towards the window. The wind blew the tree just out the window, making him look back to the wall. 'Who is this person they always talk about? They seem to be very important.' I thought. I was sure that it wasn't their father.
"Yeah...Stupid Paranoia." He said while clicking his tongue slightly.
"Who?" Sun asked. The Edgelord glared at him.
"Personal." He said with a small hiss. Sun flinched and hid behind me.
"Ok geez, don't have to be that defensive." He said.
"Then stop going into my business." The Edgelord snapped.
"Gladion tone it down a bit." The Blondie said. He sighed and closed his eyes.
"Speaking of personal-" he looked at Sun with narrowed eyes. "-How do know Blue the Evolver?" He asked. Sun chuckled.
"Well uhh..."
"He is cousins with Red the Fighter." I replied for him, as if it was no big deal.
"What?" The Edgelord asked.
"I am cousins with Red the Fighter." Sun repeated.
"You are cousins with Red, the current champion of Kanto? I don't believe you." He said. Sun shrugged.
"I don't expect you to. Our family doesn't really show off." He said.
"It's amazing right, Gladion? Sun and Red are related. No wonder he is a great trainer." The Blondie said.
"I am not that great." Sun said while blushing.
"Lillie don't get any ideas." The Edgelord said.
"I wasn't! Geez." She said with pout. I glanced at her, seeing her cheeks in a pink tint. 'Yeah, try to make it more obvious Blondie if you want the Edgelord to notice your small crush on Sun.' I thought.
"Achem, anyways. Sun give me the name or you won't get the dish you want." I said, moving from the subject.
"Oh yeah, forgot about that sorry. The dish is Sukiyaki, it's a soup technically." He said sheepishly. I raised and eyebrow but didn't argue. I took my phone out and searched it up.
"It doesn't seem to be that difficult. Even if it was, I am up for the challenge when it comes." I said and grabbed the ingredients I had. I then took a headband and tied my hair up in a bun. "By the way, would you guys like to have some rice balls with this or not?" I asked.
"I really don't care." The Edgelord said.
"Of course!" Sun chirped.
"Won't it be too much trouble?" The Blondie asked.
"No. Eevee helps me with this, as long as she doesn't eat it that is. Torrocat will help too." I replied.
"I'll help you with the Rice balls, I am an expert in doing them." Sun volunteered.
"Alright. Torrocat, help Sun with the rice." I ordered. He nodded and jumped up the counter to get the pan.
"He can cook?" The Blondie asked.
"No, but he does help with cooking the food just right. It trastes better that way. As well as he is a Fire-Type, less electricity will be used." I explained.
"Cleaver." I heard the Edgelord say.
"Ok! Let's get on with this!" Sun chirped
-TIME SKIP-
I will have to say, that dish was really good. The traste was better than I had expected. I have had my fair share of Kantonese dishes but nothing has tasted this good. Sun wasn't exaggerating when he said he could do great Rice Balls.
"This tastes even better than how Mum and Yellow-San cooks this." He said while eating up the last of his third serve.
"Sun, I know you love it but keep it slow." The Blondie said.
"I have to agree with Sun, this is delicious." The Edgelord said.
"See?! Even more reason to marry Luna!" Sun chirped. I gave him a light bump on the head.
"That isn't relevant to this Sun." I said, feeling my eye twitch in annoyance.
"Ok sorry." He said with a small chuckle.
"Sun has a point through." The Blondie said.
"Not you too with the Ships. I am still going strong on the bet Lil. So you better pay up after my 20th birthday." The Edgelord said. Confusion was on her face for a good ten seconds before realization seemed to hit her.
"I totally forgot about that!!!!" She exclaimed.
"What bet?" I asked. The Edgelord was about to retort but the Blondie hit him before doing so. She looked at me and gave me a small smile.
"We did a bet about, how long was it? Eleven years ago. The bet consists that Gladion will have a girlfriend before his 20th birthday. If he does then I get 50,000 Pokédollars. If he doesn't then he will get the same amount." She explained.
"Where will you get all that money from?" Sun asked.
"Long story short, not sure. We were 6 or 5 when we did the bet." The Edgelord replied, sinking down his seat. 'They are part of the Aether family, meaning they have money. 50,000 Pokédollars isn't even a dent to their fortune. Though....Lusamine did relegate them.' I thought.
"Well, whosever wins, I'm not sure where you will get the money from." Sun said while letting out a small chuckle. I heard a small murmur from the Edgelord but I didn't manage to make out any words.
"What was that?" I asked.
"Nothing." He muttered.
"Anyways who wants mo-" Sun stopped all of the sudden. I glanced at him, seeing that his grey eyes landed on the book the Prince gave me a few weeks ago.
"What is it Sun?" The Blondie asked. He stood up and walked up to the book, looking as if he were in a trance.
"Luna where did you get this book?" He asked.
"The Prince lend it to me, why?" I asked. He opened it up and started reading. "I wouldn't try to read it. It's in another language." I informed him. 'I doubt he will be able to read it. Only because I was able to do so, it doesn't mean he will too.'
"Yeah I know, which brings this up...I can read this." He said. I let go of my spoon, the metal making a cling once It came into contact with my bowl.
"What?" I asked as I stood up abruptly.
"'The Son of the Sun, the Daughter of the Moon, together they will show the true child of Light. But be warned, when the light is dark the pain will be felt by the child of true light.' Yeah I can read it." He said. We went up and looked at the page he had opened. It showed Lunala and Solgaleo shinning their light and making something, but of course, the page was withered away.
"What language is it? I can't understand it." The Edgelord said, as if he knew lots of ancient languages. 'Of course you don't.'
"Me neither." The Blondie said, slight shock coming over her.
"Sun, what made you notice it?" I asked. He looked at me.
"Not sure. I just...felt a magnetic pull?" He said unsure.
"What does that mean?" The Blondie asked. At first I thought she meant what he meant by his words but then I noticed she was pointing at a page of the book. At one point she must have flipped the page. Sun looked down.
"'The Daughter of Miracles, the Son of Lightning, the Daughter of Water, they knew this had to end, that war couldn't be fought just by strength, it needed to be fought by unity.
This had to end. The separation. In order to heal the bond they had to take the first step. Distrust would be difficult to overcome for the Son of Life but it wouldn't be impossible, since the Daughter of Magic knew the truth and the truth was light.'" He read.
"I swear, riddles are weird." The Edgelord said with somewhat of exhaustion in his voice.
"You think?" I asked.
"Is this a myth or something?" The Blondie asked.
"I'm not sure. the Prince gave it to me because it said that this person-" I grabbed the book and flipped through it until I found the page I wanted. "-also faced Raticate in their challenge during the day when its suppose to come out during the night." I explained.
"There seems to be a picture of someone." Sun pointed out. 'Huh?' I looked at the page more closely. It did seem to be a picture of someone.
"It kinda looks like..." The Edgelord started but trailed off. Letting a small sigh, he just said it was nothing. I raised an eyebrow.
"Hey, Gladion, aren't you suppose to be with Team Sk-" I covered Sun's mouth before he could continue.
"Sun I don't think we want to worry about that right now." I said. He glared at me. The Blondie tilted her head in confusion. 'Thank Arceus, she is oblivious.' I thought. I let go of Sun's mouth but grabbed his wrist and dragged him into my room. I closed the door shut and looked at him.
"What was that about?!" He growled. I hovered my finger over my mouth to show him to quite down. He did but gave me a stern look, wanting answers.
"Look, the Blondie doesn't know about her brother being in Team Skull. He hasn't told her for a reason so if he hasn't then that means he doesn't want her to know, which means that you can't just say that he is part of Team Skull when she is around." I explained.
"But I can't just lie to Lillie." He protested.
"Then how do you think she will react when she does know?" I asked. His eyes widen slightly by my question. "We aren't sure of what their past is but I'm guessing that it wasn't at all pretty. The Edgelord seems to have done well in coping it but I don't think she will do the same. If you add up to that by telling her that he is part of Team Skull then that might destroy the admiration she has for him. We aren't sure what might happen but it won't be good if she figures out." I told him. He sighed.
"I guess, but I can't really hide anything. Secrets aren't my thing." He said with slight agitation.
"Well, you better learn how to keep them. Sometimes hiding things is an essential part of life, so you better find out how to do it." I said.
"You sound as if you have a secret." He said.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't. Look, Sun, we just need to keep this from her until the Edgelord decides to tell her. Until then, our mouths are as sealed as a tomb." I said while doing a small zipping motion over my lips. He nodded.
"How come you care now?" He asked.
"Only because I act careless doesn't mean I am someone with no soul, geez." I said while rolling my eyes.
"Yeah yeah, whatever you say Lu." He said with a small chuckle. I glared at him.
"Don't call me Lu!" I snapped. He stuck his tongue out at me. I jerked a bit back by the sudden whimsical act.
"I can call you how ever I want. You do that with Lillie and Gladion so I can do it as well, it's a free region." He sassed. I sweat dropped. 'If anything, this world isn't free at all.' I thought.
"Ok so, can we go out now? Cause we kinda left to blonds outside and they might think we are doing something else, which I don't want because I want my ship to sail. I don't want to be in the middle of that." He chirped out suddenly and clapped his hands together.
"What is up with you and the ocean?" I asked while opening the door. He turned to me with a sweat drop when he was just a foot out the door.
"I really need to explain what a ship is. Also...I am not that found of the ocean." He said. I raised an eyebrow.
"But you were the other day at the beach." I said.
"Still, I don't like much water. I can't even swim." He said. "Thankful Gladion could that day, or we would have lost not only you but our ship." He added. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Please don't." I heard the Edgelord's voice say from the side. I glanced to my right, seeing him leaning back on the wall. "I already told you Sun, please don't stain her mind with those dreadful ships. I don't want to deal with five shippers." He added.
"Which are the five?" Sun asked.
"You, my sister, Hau, and Plumeria. The last one would be Luna if she knew." He replied.
"Plumeria?" Sun asked.
"She is an admin of Team Skull. Though the Ice Assassin is the one you should be the most careful with. She doesn't have pity on males." I said. Sun gulped.
"I'll just prey to Arceus that I don't meet her." He said. 'Don't think that will come true.'
"As long as you don't annoy her, you will be alright. I should know since half of the time I'm in Team Skull is spent with me going around doing jobs with her." The Edgelord said.
"Love Triangle." Sun muttered.
"What?" I asked.
"Ohh nothing, it just seems like things got more interesting with you two." He said and skipped over to where the Blondie sat. I raised an eyebrow.
"So now he is obsessed with Geometry?" I asked.
"Just don't pay any attention to him." The Edgelord said. Eevee suddenly jumped on him so she would be on his head. "Really Eevee?"
"Eev!!!" She cried out and snuggled against him.
"Your Eevee is weird." He told me. I grabbed her and petted her.
"Now why do you like the Edgelord so much?" I asked her, not that I was really expecting an answer, I don't talk Pokémon. She gave me a small cry and gave a me a light kiss on the cheek and then jumped off my hands and ran to play with Fomantis.
"Ok that gave me no clue whatsoever of why she likes me so much." The Edgelord said with a small sweat drop.
"She is just a Pokémon, they have a weird way of thinking." I said.
"Yeah I know that." He said and then looked at the clock in the wall. "I need to go, I have some stuff to do for Team Skull." He said.
"When are you going to tell your sister about Team Skull?" I asked.
"I'm not planning to tell her." He said while leaning back on the wall. "If I do then she will worry about loosing me and that isn't something I want. She had enough with what happened years ago. It is already hard with them, me adding to that won't help me or her at the moment. What Jackson said earlier really shook her, so I won't tell her about Team Skull until I get out of it." He replied.
"I know for a fact that they won't let you get out that easily." I said.
"Then I'll just fight my way out. I have done it before and I am here, aren't I?" He said with a smirk and straitened up. "I see ya later." He said and turned to talked to his sister before he went out the house. I sighed and leaned back on the wall. My phone started to vibrate in my pocket all of the sudden, making me flinch a bit. Taking my phone out, I saw the ID number and answered it.
"Hello." I said.
"Luna, darling, I have a new mission you need to do for me. Come by tomorrow and I'll tell you the details. Also, you can tell me your progress of your current one. I hope you bring good news." Lusamine's voice came through. I breathed in before I responded.
"Yes Miss." I said and was about to hang up when her voice came through again. I placed my phone back to my ear.
"Tell your father to control his gang, they are starting to get in the way of our plan. We need everything to be perfect, you know what I mean dear." She said and hung up herself. I looked at my phone's screen and clenched it tight.
'There are things I still don't know about their past. Like what really happened to the Edgelord and Blondie's father? Who is this other person who they lost and why were they so important to them in the first place? These questions are always circulating in my head when I see them. If I hand over the Blondie now, then I won't figure out the answer to my questions.
I think I'll just wait a bit to tell Lusamine the whereabouts of the Blondie. I need to make sure, that I am doing the right choice with them. If I make a wrong move, then I won't be able to take revenge for my family and finally make justice.' I thought and tucked my phone inside my pocket once more.
"Hey Luna, why are you still here in the hallway?" I looked at Sun who gave me a small look of concern.
"I got a call from my uncle, just that. Come on, we shouldn't leave the Blondie alone." I said and led him back to the living room where she sat. Nebby was already out of the bag at this point.
"Seems like it managed to get out again." I said with a sweat drop.
"Yep." Sun said.
"Cosmog!" She growled. The cloud-like Pokémon just gave her a pew and started playing with Eevee and Fomantis.
"Leave it Blondie, he is in here, so no one will harm him." I said.
"I know but he needs to learn not to get out like that." She said
"Don't worry, he will learn. In the mean time though...who wants to play a game of Pokénopoly?" He asked.
