~Bella's dress above~

The next day the fairies attended their first lesson one of which Bella was excited to start.

"Good morning everyone, as usual it befalla to kick off the school year, now for those of you who haven't met me yet I am Professor Wizgiz." The short professor said as he hopped on his table.

"Your teacher of Metamorphosis or as I prefer to call it the art of changing the way you look!" He said turning into Miss Griselda shocking the class, but they all cheered for his transformation anyway.

"Oh Well that's nothing by years end you will do better than that." He said transforming back into himself. "And since every ending must have a beginning let us start with a simple exercise." He said summoning hand mirrors for everyone. "Concentrate look into the mirror, look at yourself and think about changing the color fo your hair." He said.

Bella managed to succeed in changing her hair color to red with blue streaks.

Bloom fails and puts down the mirror.

"Don't worry Bloom if at first you don't succeed try again." Professor Wizgiz said.

After lessons the girls went back to their dorm rooms.

"Lets try again okay." Bloom said as she was with Stella while Bella was looking over plants with Flora.

"Alright, one last time and that's it. School's just beginning. If you don't get it today it's not the end of the world." Stella said.

"Where I come from there's a saying, don't put off tomorrow what you can do today." Bloom said.

"Where I come from we don't have that expression and we're all much more relaxed." Stella said.

"Stella please~." Bloom pleaded.

"Oh alright but remember, concentrate. Think of a color and imagine your hair starting to change, a new color slowly spreading from the root to the tip of your hair." Stella said but instead Bloom's bangs raised up all the way to the ceiling.

"Great! See what I end up with?!" Bloom asked pointing at her raised up bangs.

"Bloom you're not paying attention. You're not concentrating enough." Stella said

"Well at least something happened and that's progress." Flora said as Stella laughed.

"She's right Bloom It's better to start somewhere than nowhere at all and quit laughing Stella." Bella said as the two walk towards Bloom and Stella.

"Why shouldn't she look at this I'm ridiculous." Bloom said and shook her head making her bangs fall back on her forehead as Bella and Flora sat beside her.

"That's not true all you need is a bit of practice." Flora said.

"I've never had such a rough day." Bloom said.

"First day is always like that." Stella said.

"Girls can I ask you something?" Bloom asked Stella and Flora.

"Why are you here at Alfea?" Bloom asked.

"Because I want to become a real fairy successful, beautiful, powerful and universally admired. Of course I also wanna do good things like making people happy and bringing back together estranged lovers starting with my parents." Stella said.

"I wanna become a real fairy too but I'm here primarily because I really love to learn." Flora said and she was hit with a pillow.

"Ugh that was such a nerdy answer." Stella said as she threw away the pillow.

"What about you Bloom, Bella?" Flora asked.

"Well that's the problem. I have no idea what I'm doing here." Bloom said as she walked to the window.

"Well I know what I'm doing here. I want to master my powers to stop the nighlok and protect people. There are also two destroyed worlds I want to restore to their former glories." Bella said.

The next day the students were in the dining hall were enjoying breakfast but Bloom and Flora ran through the halls late. They snuck into the room but they did ot escape Miss Griselda's watchful eye.

"Bout time what took you guys so long?" Stella asked.

"My fault I overslept." Bloom said.

"Not surprised, you habe to be kne of the hardest people I know to wake up." Bella giggled making Bloom pout.

"But watch out for Miss Griselda, somehow I don't think she's a very nice person." Tecna said.

"Young Ladies your attention please as id the tradition among magic schools the annual gala in honour of our new students sill be held tonight. Students of the Alfea college for fairies and the Red Fountain school for magicians will gather here in our castle to perform the traditional welcome gift exchange ceremony." Faragonda announcd causing the girls to errupt in excited chatter.

"Silence please! Miss Faragonda, your Headmistress is speaking let's show a little respect." Griselda demanded.

"Thank you Griselda. One more thing I'd like to say I'm calling on all your creative minds to make rhis ordinary looking hall into a festive ballroom so today's classes are cancelled get to work and do us proud." Faragonda said.

Meanwhile at Cloud Tower school for witches. The Headmistress Miss Griffon was about to make an announcement.

"Attention please here comes headwitchtress Griffin."

And in came Miss Griffin and she sat on her throne which looks above all over then as the witches sat on their chairs ready for the announcement.

"My young witches I have summoned you here becuase I have some sad news to share, the fairies are holding a party tonight and once again the witches of Cloud Tower have not been invited." Griffin said and the hall errupted in boo's.

"Yes my friends I agree with you but this is an opportunity for you to test your cursing skills. It is the duty of every witch in this school to crash this party and wipe the small off their face! They've snubbed us? We'll make them pay and so I urge you to come up with a way to ruin their little fiesta. Submit your proposals and I'll select one, may the worst witch win." She said and say down and the students erupted in cheers.

"What do you think, should we come up with a little scheme?" Darcy asked.

"Why not." Icy said.

"Oh come on we'd just be wasting our time." Stormy complained.

"Trust me Stormy Dear it'll be fun." Icy grinned.

Back at Alfea the girls were walking down the hall.

"Classes are cancelled and this is just our second day." Tecna said.

"What do we have to do for the party?" Bloom asked.

"Easy Bloom get ready to have a ball!" Stella said.

"I'll proved the decorations." Flora saud snapping her fingers and vines with flowers grew on a pillar.

"And I'll take care of the music, I mean what's a party without dancing." Musa said.

"And I'll worry about what to wear because clothes are important to... and of course I refuse to go unnoticed. Well what do you think?" Stella said taking out a beautiful orange dress.

"Nice." Bella said.

"It's gorgeous." Bloom said.

"Mind you it wasn't cheap, but look at it, it was calling me from the shop window, buy me buy me please." Stella said.

"And of course you answered It's pleas how very noble of you." Musa said.

"Well I'm bound to make an impression." Stella said.

"I heard the guys from Red Fountain are really cute." Flora said.

"Guys? As if I care about that." Tecna said.

"Then why sre you dressed like an absolute diva?" Musa asked.

"That's besides the point you attend a ceremony you dress accordingly." Tecna said.

"Yeah, sure." Stella said.

"Um sorry but you'll think they'll let us in dressed like this?" Bloom asked.

"Oh you guys." Flora said.

"You don't have a dress?" Stella asked.

"Yeah we didn't really know we'd be having parties so soon so..." Bella trailed.

"Well that's no problem, there's a solution to everything and in this case it's called shopping." Stella said determined.

The girls were now in town looking through stores and trying on dresses.

Bloom and Bella eventually found their dresses and went to pay for them.

"I've recieved many suggestions, but none as digusting as yours." Griffin said as the three witches stand before her in her office.

"A horrible idea terrible despicable! In other words It's the best, well done you three great start to the year." Griffin said.

"Thanks professor." Icy said.

"Now please don't disappoint me." Griffin said.

"We'll get to work right away ma'am." Darcy said.

"Trust me we won't fail tonight you'll sleep with the sound of crying fairies." Icy said.

"The party is about begin and i still have to fix my dress." Bloom said.

"Then we gotta hurry!" Bella said and they ran into their rooms.

"Kiko you've got to help me!" Bloom said busting into her room surprising Kiko. "This dress is way to long. Scissors, scissors." She said as she looked ariund for scissors.

While Bella was getting her hair styled she smelt something burning and firghtful rushed to Bloom's room.

"What's going on in here?!" She asked asnd saw Bloom trying to take out the fire with a pillow.

"Back up." She said and blasted the fire snuffing it out.

"What a disaster if only I had a pair of scissors." Bloom groaned.

"Why don't we ask the others if they have a pair?" Bella said.

"Oh yeah your right." Bloom said and the two left the room and walked down the hall.

~Meanwhile underneath Alfea~

"Hey this is it what did I tell you, theses tunnels have been abandoned for centuries, back then they connected the three schools and were used in emergencies." Icy said as they walked throught the dark tunnels with flashlights.

"The entrance to Alfea is straight ahead." Darcy said holding the map.

"We're almost there then." Stormy said.

"Right. Let the fun begin." Icy grinned.

~Meanwhile back up top~

"This is ridiculous I can't even find a simple pair of scissors." Bloom said.

"We could've gotten a pair from our friends if you didn't make us go to every single room to check." Bella said.

"I know and I'm sorry but it never hurts to check. Maybe we should go check in the store room." Bloom said.

"Bloom." Bella whined.

"I know, I know but this is the last room I promise and if I can't find it we'll fo to our friends." Bloom said.

"Fine." Bella sighed and they went to a door and opened it.

"Now which way do we go?" Darcy asked.

"Did you hear that?" Bella asked.

"Don't ask me your the one with the map." Stormy said.

"I recognize those voices." Bloom said.

"Yeah me to." Bella said, but then they see light and gasped and ran back up the stairs before they could be found by the flashlights as the three witches came into Alfea.

"Hey look the Red Fountain coat of arms." Icy said as they found a chest as they wandered the halls. "The gifts might be in there." She said.

"I wonder what those simpletons are gonna give the fairies." Darcy said as the two girls hid behind a corner and listened in.

"Whatever they are we'll use them to wreak havoc and spread panic. That'll give us a chance to get the ring, come on Darcy show us where it is. Go on." Icy Said.

"With pleasure dearest sister, illusion show the trix." She said and her eyes glowed and soon they are shown a picture of Stella.

"It's Stella." Bloom said. The picture then shows them where she put her ring which in a chest in her room.

"Great now we know where to find it. Come on Stormy time to do your thing" Icy said and Stormy smirked.

"At last." She said and blasted the chest opent to reveal golden eggs and Darcy took out one and opened it and butterflies fluttered out.

"Oh enchanted little eggs." She mocked.

"How tacky, anyway It's time for us to prepare our own surprise." Icy said and they all raised a finger in the air and thet glowed. "These presents shall become snake rat eggs!" She said.

"Which will hatch at the touch of a fairy." Darcy said.

"And spread terror all over." Stormy said and they brought their fingers down to the eggs cursing them.

"Goodness no." Bloom said.

"Really Princess? Seriously?" Bella asked disappointed.

"Well done sisters now let get outta here." Icy said and they left as they created a rift through the wall allowing them to run outside and hid in the nearby tall grass.

"We'll hide back here and enjoy the show" she said.

Inside Bella and Bloom rushed instide the hall to warn the girls about the cursed eggs.

"Look there they are." Bloom said ponting in their direction and they rushed towards them until Bloom bumped into Sky and Bella bumped into someone else.

"Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." Bella apologized as the person turned to face her.

"Bella! Hey!" The person greeted.

"Jayden?" Bella gasped.

"Surprised?" Jayden smiled.

"Yes, You look handsome." Bella smiled shyly with a blush.

"We're so happy to see you here." Sky said.

"Yeah us too but we really need to go." Bella said dragging Bloom away as they ran.

"Girls over here!" Bloom yelled as they stopped running and gasped for air.

"There you are." Tecna said.

"What took you so long?" Flora asked.

"This is an emergency, the witches are here." Bloom said.

"What are you talking about?" Stella asked.

"Icy, Darcy and Stormy have cast s spell on the presents from Red Fountain we heard them talk about something called a snake rat." Bloom said.

"Snake rat, hmm? Let me consult my data base." Tecna said. "Snake rats swamp creatures of the disgusta billus genus they eat toads--"

"Thank you Tecna we get the picture. Slimy, vicious and venomous like the witches, but what's in it for them?" Stella asked.

"Stella let her finish!" Bella said.

"The witches want to provoke a huge panic and use it as a diversion to get their hands on your ring." Bloom said.

"Hmm, that's quite the sneaky plan, we've got to stop the eggs from being handed out." Musa said.

"Oh too late, look." Flora said pointing into the hall where the eggs are being brought out.

"For you ladies I hope you like them." Prince Brandon said.

"Egg surprises." Musa said.

"Yes and the surprise is a very cuddly snake rat." Bloom said.

"We need a counter spell and fast, come on let's form a circle. Repeat after me, what it once was let it be again" Stella said as they all held hands in a circle.

"What it once was let it be again, what it once was let it be again, what it once was let it be again." The girls chanted and with a glittering sparkles the counter spell slipped by the legs of the people and went to the eggs.

Prince Brandon gave one egg to a fairy and then she opened it an bunch of butterflies flew out.

"Wow!"

The fairies then took an egg and opened one and let loose the glittering golden butterflies, while the girls sighed in relief that their spell worked.

"I hope this egg brings you luck." Prince Brandon said handing Stella an egg.

"I guess I'll find out soon enough if it does or not." She said.

"Let me see it." Musa said taking the egg.

"Flora are you thinking what I'm thinking bu any chance?" She asked.

"I am indeed and I've studied professor Paledium's lesson very well." Flora said.

"It's all your Flora." Musa said handing her the egg.

"And now I'll make a little surprise for our three witch friends." Flora said.

"What did you do to the egg?" Bella asked.

"I'll tell you later meanwhile I want you two to run and get changed it's getting late." Flora said, meanwhile outside Icy turned some grass to ice angry.

"I don't believe this the spell didn't work!" She growled.

"Alright let's go see." Stormy said.

"Never mind Stormy, sooner or later the ring will be ours. I always get what I want." She said.

The two girls finally made it back to the dorms. Bloom went outside after the ring.

"Hang on someone is coming this way and so is the ring." Icy said as she watched from grass and soon Bloom caught up with the ring and grabbed it just before she hit the ground.

"Gotcha!" She said as the witches behind the grass growl in anger.

"Unbelievable she's walking away with the ring." Icy said and jumped out of the grass along with her sisters.

"Nosy little Missy!" Stormy said.

"Why can't she mind her own business?!" Darcy asked.

"Bloom there you are what are doing out here?" Bella asked and she noticed the witches. Bloom turned around and dropped the ring in shock to find the witches right there.

"Can't leave you alone for a day hmmm Princess?" Bella asked.

"Bella?" Icy asked surprised.

"Poor Bloom and Bella, the witches have got them cornered." Flora said against the window.

"Young ladies It's time to offer our guests, come and join the others and Musa will play something for us." Faragonda said making the girls worry for the two sisters who are outside against the witches alone.

"Are you ready little girls?" Stormy asked as the three witches walk towards them.

"Ready as I'll ever be." Bella said as Icy sent a blast that froze the ground beneath them but the jumped over it and back to solid ground.

"Magic Winx!" Bella said and transformed.

Darcy stomped on the ground creating a large crack in the earth stopping Bloom from going any further while Bella backflips out of the way.

Stormy then sent a tornado Bloom's way which cornered her as it got closer and she fell in, she looked up to see that Icy got her hands on the ring case.

"May I do the honors?" Icy asked and Stormy jokingly bowed.

"Of course." She said.

"You're on your own this time and your friends are not around to help you. Hurgh. So long little fairy." Icy said prepared to blast her.

"No! I am a fairy and must not fail! I will succeed!" Bloom shouts, glowing brightly as she finally transforms into a fairy.

"Wow, I'm transformed! Looks like we're evenly matched!" Bloom said.

"It's about time." Bella said.

"Those are awfully cute little fairy outfits. Too bad you'll need more than that to win against us." Icy said.

"Well said little sister." Stormy said.

"Luckily I have two of them." Bella said and shifted to her other fairy form.

"Vertigo." Darcy chanted and her eyes glowed purple and hypnotic waves shot from her eyes but Bella managed to hover up in the air quickly.

"W-what's going on?! I'm all dizzy... I must offset the witch's spell... But, of course!" Bloom flies upward to Bella, away from spell.

"Fairies can fly and up here, spells of illusion have no affect." Bloom said proudly.

"Hurgh!!!" Darcy growls in annoyance.

"Got a problem Darcy?" Icy asked.

"Nasty little fairy." Icy said and summoned some cold weather. "Ice Prism." She said and blades of ice shot out of the ground. "Frostbite." She chanted and a face appeared on a shard that was behind Bloom and shot her down.

"Bloom!" Bella yelled worried.

"Now let's put the icing on the cake, Ice burg!" Icy yelled and shot ice at her.

"I don't think so!" Bella yelled and laded in front of Bloom and summoned up a barrier to protect them and it did.

"Take this!" She yelled and sent a blast towards them sending Icy to the ground.

"Why you little." Stormy growled.

"It doesn't matter we got the ring so let's get outta here." Icy said as they disappeared. After it was over the two turned back.

"Bloom are you okay?" Bella asked.

"Yeah I'm fine, thanks for having my back." Bloom said and they hugged.

"Anytime." Bella smiled.

"Bloom, Bella!" Stella called getting their attention.

"You guys oh thank goodness are you okay?" Flora asked.

"We're fine but where were you all." Bella asked.

"Sorry but we couldn't get away from the Headmistress." Stella said.

"Is everything alright?" Tecna asked.

"Well we did manage to hold our own against them." Bloom said.

"You know you guys ran quite a risk." Tecna said.

"We know but they have Stella's ring, I tried to get it back." Bloom said.

"Don't worry you guys the ring is perfectly safe." Flora smiled.

"Huh?" Bella asked.

"What do you mean? Tell us." Bloom asked.

"Not before you two get dressed now." Flora said and the girls rushed to their rooms.

"We've got to hurry up." Bloom said and after a little alteration Bloom's dress was ready.

"Wow it looks great." Bella said as she was fully dressed in her dress.

"Wow you look great!" Bloom said.

"Why thank you and you'll be too so let's get you changed." Bella said picking up the dress. Pretty soon the girls made it to the party and everyone adored their dresses which suited them perfectly as they walked down the hall and Faragonda nodded on approval.

"How do we look?" Bloom asked.

"Beautiful as a pair of spring flowers." Flora said.

"You don't think we've forgotten, tell us what happened to the egg." Bella said.

"Simple, while you were getting dressed, I did a little magical switcher with the egg and the ring which now lies in a safe place right Stella?" Flora said.

"Right." She said.

"I'd love to see Icy's face when she opens the shell and a swam of beautiful butterflies comes out instead of that ring she so desperately trying to get her paws on." Bloom said.

"Well that's not quite how it's gonna go." Flora said.

"Still be funny." Stella said.

And yes it was as Icy opened the egg instead of a ring she oh so hoped for it was a little duckling who kept calling her Mommy which infuriated her.

"I hate him, I hate him!" She yelled as it kissed her face.

During the party Bella felt someone tap her shoulder she looked back to find Jayden.

"Wanna dance?" Jayden asked.

"I'd love to." Bella said.

"Um would you like to dance?" Sky asked.

"Oh well, I'd love to." Bloom said putting her hand in his.

"You won't run away now will you?" Sky asked making her laugh.

"No. I won't run I promise." Bloom said.

"So do you like Alfea, Bella?" Jayden smiled warmly.

"Yeah, I do. I'm starting to feel right at home." Bella smiled.

The two sisters looked at each other and smiled as they gave each other a wink.
