Peridot carefully knocked on the dark oak door. Sapphire was worriedly standing behind her legs, wanting to disappear into the night. They heard soft footprints padding across the floor towards the door and muffled talking. Pearl opened the door with a soft smile playing on her mouth. She was visibly disappointed when she saw it was just the dorks of the school. Or just because it wasn't who she was expecting.
She smiled at Sapphire and opened the door wide enough for both girls to get through, "Beer and pop are in the kitchen to your right. Snacks are on their table in the living room on your left. We will be in the living room, up stairs is off limits and so is downstairs." Pearl paused, "for now." She glided away back towards the large group of friends.
Peridot and Sapphire took in their surroundings. It was a large open concept house. With the living room, kitchen and office all seeming to be one big room. The office was behind the living in room and was under the landing for the upstairs. The living room had two couches and for chairs, and a large flat screen TV across.
Spread though out the couches and ground was Pearl, Jasper, Angel, Crys, and Lapis. Seeming that Amethyst, Emerald, Cinna and Milky weren't there yet. And of course, Ruby wasn't there either, as Sapphire couldn't help noticing. They were all in a group chatting loudly. Lapis was sitting in the group, her legs crossed, phone in lap, but wasn't talking. She stared slightly at the glossy black surface of her phone.
Sapphire sat on one side and Peridot sat on the other of Lapis. Peridot poked her. She seemed to to wake from her trance and blew a sigh of relief, "finally your guys are here! I was so lonely." She whispered, scooting back to let the other girls have space in the circle.
"No prob, we're always her for a rescue," Peridot said smiling in a flirtatious way. Sapphire giggled thinking about how silly the comment sounded. Her? A rescuer? Never ever. She was the one who needed rescuing.
Another knock was at the door. Pearl rushed up putting on a smile. She wanted to make sure the right person saw it. She opened it and in walked Amethyst. Pearl's face didn't falter as it did when she saw Peridot and Sapphire. The smile stayed steady, getting bigger even. Of course it was Amethyst that Pearl was waiting for. Her crush on Ame was more than obvious. Amethyst had to know of it, its not like she was stupid or anything.
Pearl sat back down with the group to catch the tail end of their conversation, leaving room beside her, obviously thinking Amethyst was going to sit beside her. Which to her surprise she didn't, instead she plopped herself beside Peridot. "Hey Sapph, Pdot, Lapis."
"Hi Amethyst," Sapphire greeted. Peridot grunted some form of hello too and Lapis waved. Amethyst took Peridot's phone from her hand and typed the WiFi password in.
"Here. Don't want you to go through internet withdrawl, right?" Amethyst asked smirking. Peridot squinted and nodded, rolling her eyes she agreed. Lapis giggled. The door opened, and everyone turned their head. Surprising, it was Emerald. She didn't knock or anything, just barged in.
"Always needs to have the spotlight, huh," Sapphire thought. Which was of course true and why she did that. Pearl just kinda half waved at Emerald to join the circle. And with her nose up high, that she did. You could visibly see Angel get excited for what's to come. Everyone else was more anxious than excited.
Amethyst kept talking to Peridot and the girls about nothing in particular. Her day maybe? Sapphire didn't know. She's was just waiting for someone to walk through that door. There was a hard loud knock on the door, and Sapphire practically jumped in her seat. Pearl clearly didn't want to get up and leave the conversation, but she still did, walking to the door. The pulled it open, and in walked a short, brown-haired girl.
She had a pair of highwaisted black shorts on. There was a red T-Shirt tucked into the shorts and a red and white jacked pulled over it. Her fluffy hair was pushed back by her red ribbon as she normally does. Sapphire's heart fluttered looking at the girl. Ruby nodded at Pearl, as some form of greeting and started walking into the living room. Her eyes visably brightened when she saw Sapphire, they smiled at each other. Emerald fake gagged and whispered something to Crys, who then shrugged.
Ruby ignored Emerald's childish ways and walked over to Sapphire. She sat down beside her. "Hey," Ruby said. A slightly blushing Sapphire responded with a short hello. The room was almost dead silent, aside from slight gibberish nosies from Emerald. Almost everyone was staring at the two girls, who were just trying to ignore everyone's heated glares.
Pearl clearly uncomfortable that her little party had become so awkward, "Is everyone here?" She asked, pulling the attention to herself. A few people shrugged and looked around.
"Cinna and Milky aren't here yet," Lapis answered quietly.
"Probably making out in an ally somewhere," Jasper snorted. Peridot rolled her eyes and looked at Sapphire, with an 'are you kidding me' look. Sapphire shrugged her shoulders. Emerald laughed obnoxiously.
Pearl looked over at Lapis, "Do you knew when they'll be comming?" Lapis shook her head softly.
"I know that she was ready hours ago. If that matters," Peridot put out.
Angel got down from the couch and sat on the floor, "Lets start. Who knows when they'll be here." Pearl nodded and also sat down on the floor across from her. All the girls shuffled from the couches and chairs to the ground. Aside Emerald who insisted that the floor was too dirty for her precious green dress. "So P, what are we starting with? I was thinking Never Have I Ever?"
"I didn't know we were in grade eight," Emerald muttered.
"Oh, Emerald. Trust me, these questions won't be anything like your elementy school memories. Unless you want to say your cup size," Angel smirked looking up at Emerald. Who flushed slightly and looked away. Which caused Angel and Jasper to break out in laughter.
"We can do Never Have I Ever first. If thats OK with everyone else." Pearl nodded looking around.
"Awesome. Fingers up, ladies. Five to be exact. The rules, if you didn't know, are simple. One person will say something they have never done, phrased "Never have I ever...blank". If you have done said thing you put your finger down. The person to my left then goes. Last person with fingers up wins. This game is good to start with, just so we can learn a bit more about everyone here and start to formulate ideas for Truth or Dare." Angel smirked looking around. "I'll start, we'll start simple, never have I ever graffited a public building. Jasper, Emerald, Ruby, Lapis, Amethyst put a finger down.
Angel notified Emerald it was her turn, "Alright, never have I ever....cried in the past month." She looked around for people to put their fingers down. Sapphire, Lapis, Peridot, Amethyst, Pearl and Crys put a finger down. Amethyst shrugged not really caring that Jasper seemed surprised.
"Alright Pearl, your turn," Angel said pointing at her.
"Right ok. Never have I ever done any forms of drugs." Lapis, Jasper, Amethyst, Angel, Emerald and Crys put a finger down.
"Wait, alchohol too?" Ruby asked Pearl, leaning over. Pearl nodded and Ruby put a finger down. So far the standings are:
Angel- 4
Emerald-3
Pearl- 4
Ruby-3
Sapphire-4
Amethyst-2
Peridot-4
Lapis-2
Crys-3
Jasper-3
"Mm..." Ruby thought for a second, "Never have I ever still been in love with an ex." Crys and Angel put down a finger. Emerald didn't before glaring at Ruby. Ruby smirked and looked over at Sapphire to see what she was going to do.
She didn't say anything for a while thinking carfully. Emerald was about to open her mouth to say something but Sapphire answered before she could. "Never have I ever been arrested," She answered simply. Jasper, Amethyst, Lapis, Emerald, Angel and Ruby put their fingers down.
Sapphire wasn't surprised. Not for any of these answers. It was all pretty predictable. Not to meantion the questions were too, of course Emerald would want to see if Ruby had cried because of the break up while still showing she doesn't care. And then Ruby would try to get back at her by saying she's never loved and Ex after they've broken up. Ruby's only dated two people. And Pearl with the drugs thing, of course she couldn't think of anything else. Sapphire only did the arrested thing because she wants to hurry up and get more people out.
It was Amethyst's turn, she looked around at peoples fingers, seeing how many they had left up. Lapis only having one up she was clearly ready to target her. "Never have I ever did art for fun," She smiled looking at Lapis. Who begrudginly put down her last finger. Peridot, Sapphire, Crys, Angel and Pearl also put a finger down.
"Laaaaaaapis is out!" Angel said, dragging out Lapis' name. Lapis grunted and sat back up on a chair, getting out of the circle. "Alright, Peridot, it is your turn."
"Never have I ever kissed someone," She said easily. Clearly wanting to knock a bunch of people down one. This incuded Jasper, Crys, Ruby, Emerald, Angel and Amethyst, who put down her last finger.
"Aaaaaand Amethsyt is out," Angel said, dragging out the and. It seemed like this was going to be a reoccuring pattern. "Now it would have been Lapis' turn but-"
"Wait. Can we just talk about the fact Peridork, Sapph and Perogi have never kissed anyone?" Amethyst asked, inturupting Angel.
"It doesn't surprise me," Jasper snorted. Emerald agreed with her.
"Peridork..." Peridot muttered exasperated.
"Don't worry your pretty little head. By the end of tonight, that answer will be much different," Angel smirked. Sapphire frowned. She really hoped the answer wouldn't be different. She wouldn't mind kissing Ruby, but here and now felt wrong. She didn't want her first kiss to be wasted. But judged by the looks Angel kept shooting her, her odds of getting out of this place kiss free, was unlikely.
Jasper cut in before anyone else could say anything, "Never have I ever." She paused for a second, "had one of my parents die." It got remarkable quiet over the group. No one said anything. Sapphire slowly put down one of her fingers, carefully. Ruby was watching her the whole time as she put it down. Jasper, Peridot and Lapis watched as well.
"Alright, Angel, go," Sapphire said, breaking the silence. Everyone snapped their heads towards Sapphire and down to her hands.
"Oh right, I forgot your mom died," Jasper smiled slightly and shrugged.
"Good thing this refreshed your memory. You turn again Angel," Sapphire nodded at Angel.
Angel nodded, "Never have I ever black mailed someone." Peridot put a finger down, Jasper and Emerald put their last finger down as well. "Looks like Jasper and Emerald are oooout. That leaves just Pearl-with three, Ruby, Sapphire and Peridot with two, and me and Crys with one."
(Angel- 1, Pearl- 3, Ruby- 2, Sapphire- 2, Peridot- 2, Crys- 1) "Alright, Pearl now its your turn."
"Right, never have I ever died my hair," Sapphire, Peridot and Angel put down a finger.
"Oh," Angel laughed. "And I'm oooout. Alright Ruby, go ahead."
"Never have I ever had a crush on someone more than two years older than me." Pearl slowly put down one of her three fingers. Peridot put one down as well.
"Never have I ever been in a physical fight," Sapphire said, almost imeditally after Ruby. Ruby Pearl and Crys put down a finger.
"Looks like Crys is out. Who will be out next?" Angel said dramatically.
"Ok, Angel we get it. Don't need to be so annoying about it," Emerald muttered.
"Oh, I'm sorry Miss. Pretentious Buzzkill. I'll make sure to keep everything boring at plain to meet your very important needs." Angel smiled sarcastically. Ruby snikered, as did Lapis as she leaned back in her chair. Amethyst full out laughed, having to hold onto Peridot's shoulder to keep from falling backward. Amethyst's display made Sapphire smile a bit. Emerald looked at Angel angrily.
"God, Angel no one even likes you," Emerald said at a sad attempt of a comeback.
Angel smirked, "I beg to differ, Emerald sweetheart. I would never want to throw people under the bus and make them have to chose things. But if I asked everyone in here who they prefured. I think the vote would be obvious. At least I know I'm annoying, and not a jerk about it. So Emerald, you keep telling yourself that everyone likes you. The people who do are just lying to make your obnoxious ego boosted." At this point Amethsyt had given up on trying to stay sitting up. She was sprawled out on the floor dying of laughter. And Sapphire had turned to giggles. Pearl didn't seem to know how exactly to react, mixed between wanting to stop the argument and wanting to watch Emerald get roasted. Jasper was smirked at the entrie situation, enjoying the ordeal.
"Can I go yet?" Peridot slowly waving her hand.
"Shhhhh," Amethyst said snorting. She lightly hit Peridot trying to shut her up. "Let it continue."
"No, no, Peridot, go ahead," Emerald egged her on. For once, not wanting the attention on her. Peridot shrugged and went to answer.
"Never have I ever gotten lower than a 75% average." Ruby was the only one to put a finger down.
"Alright Pearl, its your chance to get a person down. Or two, or three, who knows?" Angel said intensely, getting an eyeroll from Emerald.
"Uh, yeah. Never have I ever...stolen something," Pearl said. Getting both Ruby and Peridot out. "Peridot?" Pearl said flabbergasted.
"Yeah, yeah. You've won as the most goodie two shoes of the two of us. Congrats." Peridot muttered, nonchalantly, waving her hand.
"So does this mean Pearl wins?" Sapphire asked looking over at Angel. "She has two and I have only one finger left. By defult she wins, right?"
"I mean I guess she might win. But if she messes up then you could pull out a win." Angel shrugged.
"Alright, well, Never have I ever gotten more than the required community hours." Pearl put down one of her fingers. Sapphire smiled.
Everyone looked curiously at Pearl, wondering what she was going to say. And if she would get Sapphire out or not. Pearl opened her mouth and looked at Sapphire, "never have I ever kept my eyes covered behind bangs."
Sapphire shrugged and put her last finger down, "You got me there. Good job Pearl." Sapphire shuffled over to Pearl to shake her hand.
"Looks like Pearl wins." Angel says applausing. Lapis, Crys, Sapphire and Amethsyt followed suit. Making light clapping fill the room.
"Ok, now what?" Jasper asked, crossing her legs. She'd been awfully quiet, mostly enjoying the bickering between the girls. Kind of just letting everyone feed off each other, in a negative way of course.
"Truth or dare? We're already sitting in a formation that can work for it. Not to meantion we just learned a bunch of stuff that some people have never done before. 'Ts a good time for it, I think," Angel put forward. Pearl nodded in agreement.
"Alright, lets get started then."
