I'm Impressed
I'm gonna be honest, I'm actually pretty impressed with the first few episodes of the season. I want to be mad and freak out and lose my mind at how stupid Adam and Eddy are and JUST GIVE ME CAPTAIN SWAN AND HAPPINESS DAMNIT... But I can't. I think what they're doing is genius and possible a setup for the best season since season 2.
5x01 did not disappoint. (and sorry I didn't upload a chapter after it, I had a busy week) You all know very well that I've been very opposed to the whole dark Emma thing... But after last week, I've started to actually warm up to the idea. I don't know if it's the fact that she's still her, just a slightly more chaotic version of her, or if it's the fact that her anchors seem to be Killian and Henry (I'll get into that later) but whatever it is, I kind of like this new version of Emma.
5x02 had me wanting to kill the writers one second and hug them the next. Seeing Emma's internal struggle, seeing her fighting, but knowing she fails in the end is just so intriguing and haunting that I'm just getting really good feelings about this season.
So because it's been a while since I've done one of these, here's some predictions/character analysis for character who I think will have key roles this season. But I promise I'm back now and me losing my mind is sure to come at some point because I am so ready for this season!
Predictions/Character Analysis
Emma: I'm about 90% sure there's something else going on, other than her battle with the darkness. I feel like she wouldn't have just brought everyone she loves and cares for back to the town and erased their memories of the last six weeks in order to get them killed by "a new problem" as she put it. I think there's something more. I don't think she was the one to cast the curse. I think she's actually trying to protect them all. Dark One or not, Emma wouldn't erase their memories, just to tell them they let her down, then refuse to tell them what exactly they did to do so. This is why I don't trust Arthur or Guinevere. I think that either they did something that Emma wants them all to forget, or that the answer lies deeper. Merlin, perhaps, is the cause of this. Maybe he did something, maybe he's the real reason they're all back. I'm also not sure that Emma has all of her memories either. Something that really stuck out to me was in 5x02, when Killian told her to answer him about what happened in Camelot. He answer, "I wish I could," and her sad, regretful expression hints that she doesn't really know, or is somehow not able to actually say it. I looking forward to seeing where this all goes and how this is solved.
Regina: I know some people are excited about her being the "new saviour" but I'm really not. Don't get me wrong, I love Regina, but everything always gets twisted to be about her. I just feel like other characters deserve to be in the spotlight. Characters who don't usually get to be, like Belle. I'm sure Regina will have her arc and it'll be great, but she's started the season off on a sour note for me, after calling Emma stupid for saving her life and insulting Killian when he clearly didn't need it, when Emma put her trust in Regina with the dagger, she used it against her, even if she had good intentions. I don't know, I just really hope I don't come out of this hating her again...
Killian: Now we all know I love him to the moon and back, that being said, I obviously want to give him a big hug and tell him it'll all be okay. He's so concerned for his Swan, and I see some huge potential in character growth for this season because of it. He'll do anything for Emma. Emma has always been his light and his reason to be good, his reason to live, so seeing him trying to be that for her is so interesting. Now that the tables are turned, I'm so glad he's proving he's really a hero now. He's proving how much he loves her by just being there for Emma in Camelot, by being her emotional support, her rock, and by not giving into her trap in Storybrooke. In 5x02, when she tried to seduce him (I guess?) he truly proved to her (and to anti-Hook fans just saying) that he doesn't see Emma as a simple conquest, that she's more, so much more. He's going to be a key part in bringing Emma back, I know that for sure. Will it be easy? No. Will it require them breaking up? I'm starting to think so, but it won't last. (In the 5x03 promo, Emma says "Do you love me? If you tell me you don't love me, I will let you go" and it has me concerned he'll tell her something like "I love you, the real you, not this you." Which will end in Emma essentially breaking up with him.) Will it require him jumping off a roof? Apparently (filming for 5x08) But will they get out of this together and better than ever? Yes. I have no doubt about it.
Have another character you want me to make a prediction about? Agree/disagree with my predictions? Let me know in the comments!
I'd also like to thank everyone for 800 followers! When I joined Wattpad a year and a half ago, I never expected to get more than 20 followers, let alone a book that has become as popular as this one and it's insane. That being said, I'd like to do something for you, the followers! Do you have an idea as to how I can thank you all? Comment and I'll pick one of your ideas! Thank you again❤️❤️
