"Well think of it like link attacks in buddy fight, with grade 1 and 0 units they have a mark under their grade, this mark is the boost ability, this means units of those grades can give their power to the unit in front of them" Kiniro explained

"That makes things simple, with a boost from Grandseed, Grandpolice will attack your vanguard (13000)" Masayo declared

"I won't guard that attack" Kiniro decided

"So now when your vanguard attacks you take a look at the top card of your deck, this is what we call the drive check" Kiniro continued

"Alright, drive check (Twin Order - No Trigger)" Masayo revealed

"When doing a drive check look for a mark on the top right corner" Kiniro advised

The humanoid robot flew over to the brown haired girl and punched her hurting her.

"This does feel different but I'm already used to it" Red said moving around a bit

"Nice, now with a stride unit they are in a special zone called the G-zone, also although its card says its power is 15000 it gains the power and name of a card in your heart, so not only is his name the same as Red's but he has a total of 26000 power. Also if I'm correct Red has an ability that activates when you stride a unit" Kiniro explained

"Right, with the skill I do whats called a counter blast-"

"Counter blast is when you flip a card from your damage zone to activate skill's, sort of like gauge in buddy fight as you explained" Kiniro interrupted

"Anyway with the effects when my G-unit strides if I pay the cost my vanguard gets 4000 power and a new skill" Masayo explained

"Well it refers to the unit that you strode over, since it doesn't count as a ride the card becomes the heart" Kiniro explained

"Cool so since my heart card has Red in its card name I turn a copy of X-rogue face up to give my vanguard 4000 power and a new skill and since I have 2 G-units face up in my G-zone I give Grandseed 4000 power (9000). Then with his skill my vanguard gets another 4000 power and a new skill (34000)" Masayo explained

"My turn I draw" Kiniro stated

"Liberating the generation zone!!" Kiniro yelled placing a grade 3 from his hand to the drop zone

Kiniro's vanguard was surrounded in a rainbow aura and Kiniro is in a strange space.

"From a timeline of beauty and peace, watching over the essence of time, arrive to me now and protect our future! Generation Stride!" Kiniro yelled

A blue and gold limit break symbol appeared in front of Kiniro and it expanded 2 times then Kiniro was surrounded in a bright grey light. Clockwork changed slightly into a large blond wearing a metal armour like grand mage's robe both light blue and gold coloured with a pattern that looks like a clock within a prism with both hands on the twelve which can be assumed as Chrono Grave's symbol, a visor that is white with scanners on the sides, holding a large golden technological scythe with a clock at the top that acts as a shield and has a three orbs with events of the past, present and future behind him.

"My true avatar! Supreme Chrono Ruler, Chronicle Clockwork (15000+)!!" Kiniro yelled

"So thats the stride fusion of Clockwork" Masayo said with awe

"Actually one of them" Kiniro said rubbing the back of head sheepishly

"So he has more then one huh, cool" Masayo said

"Let us continue partner" Clockwork said

"Right with the stride skill I counter blast 1 and add 2 Chrono Grave units to my hand, shuffle and return 1 to the bottom of my deck" Kiniro stated

"Next I call Time Restart Mage, Mirai (4000), Paradox Corrector, Tybalt (9000) and retire Star-Jet for my avatar Transcendent of Time, Deus Clockwork (11000)" Kiniro stated

A small red haired girl wearing a silver robe with a reset symbol pattern holding a staff with a clock that goes backwards and another black hair and bearded man wearing a army outfit with metal coating, holding a pistol in 1 hand and a dagger in the other hand, wearing sunglasses appeared.

"With a boost from Mirai, Deus Clockwork attacks Grandfire (15000)" Kiniro declared

"I guard with Cosmic Hero, Grandrescue (total defence 19000)" Masayo countered

"With a boost from Era, Chronicle Clockwork will attack your vanguard (31000)" Kiniro declared

"I nullify that will Cosmic Hero, Grandguard (perfect defence) with the skill I counter charge" Masayo countered

"Triple drive first (Time Restart Mage, Mirai - Stand Trigger) all effects to Deus Clockwork, second (Galaxy Time Observer, Star-Jet - No Trigger) third check (Century Android, Lopra - No Trigger)" Kiniro revealed

The large man with a armoured grand robe charged in at the superhero with his large scythe but another light blue humanoid robot with a shield generator floating above its head appeared and raised his arms in front of him and the generator created a couple of lightning bolts to stop the scythe.

"With the skill I counter 1, soul blast 1 and discard 2 cards from my hand, with this at the end of the battle this unit attacked if my heart card has Clockwork in its card name and I have a card with Clockwork in its name on the rearguard I can pay the cost to stand him back up and give him 5000 power" Kiniro exclaimed

"That's a wicked skill" Masayo complemented

"Now with a boost from Christopher, Tybalt attacks with his skill I counter blast 1 to search for a grade 2 or less Chrono Grave and add it to my hand then I place a card from my hand to the bottom of my deck, I'll add in Mirai's skill to draw a card, counter charge 1 and place her on my deck and shuffle. Finally with Era's skill I counter blast 1 and place him in soul to draw a card and give Deus Clockwork 2000 power (16000) (18000)" Kiniro declared

"I guard with Operator Girl, Reika (total defence 21000)" Masayo countered

"Now Chronicle Clockwork attacks your vanguard again (31000)" Kiniro declared

"I don't guard" Masayo decided

"Triple drive first check (Time Psychic, Arc - No Trigger) second check (Anomaly Strike Drone - Critical Trigger) power goes to Deus Clockwork and the critical goes to my vanguard, third check (Time Descendant, Luka - No Trigger)" Kiniro revealed

The large blond haired man dashed over to the red hero again and swung his scythe hurting the hero.

"Damage check first (Masked Police, Guunjoe - Draw Trigger) power to my vanguard and I draw, second check (Cosmic Hero, Grandsub - No Trigger)" Masayo revealed

"Deus Clockwork will attack your vanguard (23000)" Kiniro declared

"I don't guard" Masayo decided

The large spiked blond haired man rode his clock towards the superhero and used his energy rapier to slash him.

"Damage check (Cosmic Hero, Grandrescue - Heal Trigger) alright, power to my vanguard and I recover 1 damage" Masayo revealed

"Great pull with the heal trigger" Kiniro complemented

"Yeah, thought I was gonna lose there" Masayo said with a grin

"I end my turn" Kiniro stated

"I call Twin Order (10000)" Masayo stated

Another red humanoid robot with a electronic digital face with only eyes and two long swords made of energy appeared.

"With a boost from Grandpolice, Grandfire attacks your vanguard, with his skill I counter blast 1 and give 4000 power to Grandseed and Grandchopper, with their skills I give 4000 and a skill to my vanguard thanks to Seed while I counter blast 1 and give 4000 power to Twin Order and my vanguard thanks to Chopper (17000) (9000) (11000) (19000) (14000)" Masayo declared

"I guard with Time Restart Mage, Mirai (total defence 21000)" Kiniro countered

"With a boost from Grandseed, Red attacks Clockwork with his skill I counter blast 1 and soul blast 1 and give him 4000 power and a new skill, when he attacks your vanguard if his power is 20000 or more I can retire 2 of your rearguards and give 2 of my rearguards 4000 power, I retire Clockwork and Tybalt and give Twin Order and Grandchopper 4000 power (33000) (18000) (15000)" Masayo declared

"I don't guard" Kiniro decided

"Twin drive first check (Red Cosmic Hero Enforcer, Road Commander - No Trigger) second check (Cosmic Hero, Grandbeat - Critical Trigger) alright a critical trigger, I give 5000 power to Twin Order and the critical goes to Red" Masayo revealed

The red superhero charged up his blaster to full power and with the pull of the trigger fired an energy blast at the blond haired man.

"Damage check first (Ancient Time Guardian, Sato - No Trigger) second check (Time Professor, Donny)" Kiniro revealed

"And thats game, man you're really good for your first game of vanguard, I couldn't really do anything to guard there" Kiniro said with a smile as the field disappeared

"Yeah thanks, the same went for you in a buddy fight, guess we both just pick up games quickly" Masayo said with the same grin

"Hehe, those were really fun games" Kiniro said raising his hand for a fist bump

"Agreed" Masayo exclaimed

Masayo raised his hand as well and they did a fist bump to celebrate the fun games.

~Time Skip~

After playing the games Masayo and Kiniro had a conversation to pass some time before Masayo had to leave.

"Man seems like you went through a lot on your first day of school" Masayo exclaimed

"Yeah, though you also had some troubles too by the sound of it" Kiniro stated

"True..guess we've both been through a lot. Anyway I gotta return home" Masayo stated

"Ok see ya' Masayo Jonetsu" Kiniro said waving as Masayo left

"Goodbye, until we meet again Kiniro Inazuma" Masayo said waving back to him

With that the day ended, a day where Kiniro and Masayo met each other and learned their respective games from each other taking these lessons as a way to improve their skills.
