Hello to all my readers (if there are people that still read this book 'XD) I know it's been awhile since I have updated but now I'm about to bring you all another chapter. Not just one but two! These two are quite long and I apologise in advanced for that and being honest due to the changes to the game in recent years the fight may not be all that interesting or have good progression due to me not being able to fully connect to the old style of play for both the game and Spellbound Hex/Chrono Grave (recently renamed Horologia).

But to those seeing this I hope you enjoy!

'I'll save you Shade' Kiniro thought as he was resolved to help Kurai

"Stand up, vanguard!" Both fighters declared in unison

"Young Mystic Warlock, Kamlock (5000)" Kurai revealed

A boy with a black robe with a moon picture at its center, wearing a cloth that was wrapped around his whole head and holding a stick that acts as a wand appeared behind Shade.

"Legacy Hero, Hourgal (5000)!" Kiniro revealed

A light blue dog with the number 60 on its back wearing leg and head armour with an advanced watch attached to its neck appeared behind Kiniro.

"It seems you've changed your deck. However it won't be enough" Kurai stated as he drew his card to start the turn

"I ride Enchantment Warlock, Drake (7000), Kamlock will move back (5000)" Kurai announced

The boy in the black robe jumped back as in his place a grey haired man wearing wizards robe that covers his entire body, he has a scroll floating above his hand open with information on enchanting weapons and equipment and holding a potion in his other hand appeared behind Kurai with a smirk.

"I pass the turn to you" Kurai stated

"I draw. Ride Legacy Hero Messenger, Jeanne D' Arc (7000)! Hourgal moves to the back (5000)!" Kiniro announced

The light blue dog barked as it moved to the back and looked forward as it was replaced with a girl wearing silver armour with 2 medals with a blue and red strap on the left and right, blond hair, wearing glasses and holding a orange lined white flag with a royal crest on it.

"Knight of the Leap Year, Herman to the rearguard (7000)" Kiniro stated

The girl with silver armour had raised her flag and waved it as on her left a light formed and a teen wearing light blue full body steel armour with a cannon on his left arm, a clock shaped helmet and holding a metal spear with a clock at the bottom appeared and bowed to her then looking to the grey haired man across from them.

"Alright Jeanne will attack the vanguard (7000)!" Kiniro declared

"I will guard that attack with Mystic Healer, Jibril (17000)" Kurai countered

"Alright the drive check (Legacy Hero, Data Drone - Draw Trigger) alright a draw trigger, power to Herman then I draw" Kiniro revealed

"As expected" Kurai said placing Jibril into the drop zone

"Herman boosted by Hourgal will attack! (17000)" Kiniro declared

"I won't guard that" Kurai decided

The knight raised his sword as he leaped in the air and as he landed in front of the grey haired warlock he swung his sword and slashed him as the man felt a jolt of pain.

"Damage check (Young Magician, Quince - Draw Trigger) seems I got a draw trigger as well. I draw" Kurai revealed

"I end my turn there" Kiniro stated

"I stand and draw" Kurai stated

"Shade" Kiniro interrupted

Kurai looked to Kiniro with a blank stare as he was about to ride his vanguard to grade two before he interrupted.

"What do you want now Kiniro?" Kurai questioned

"Do you remember the day after you came to me that day?" Kiniro suddenly asked reminiscing

"Although I don't like it yes I do" Kurai said irritated as he gripped his cards lightly

~Flashback~

Kiniro and Kurai were young as Kurai arrived to the gate of a building to see Kiniro there and excitedly approached him smiling.

"Shade, look look!" Young Kiniro cheered as he held up a deck box that was light blue with a deck inside

Kurai seemed to be interested as he looked to Kiniro's deck box and took it as he looked through the cards to find Royal Paladin.

"I got my own deck now! We can keep playing together" Kiniro continued excitedly with newly-found cheerfulness

A small smile seemed to form on Kurai's face as he put the cards back in the deck box handing it back to Kiniro.

"Interesting choice, just don't let yourself fall behind got it" Kurai said walking inside the grounds of the building

The young Kiniro turned to face Kurai and raced to catch up and people nearby seeing them seemed to murmur about the change in Kiniro wondering what happened.

~Later that Day~

It was lunchtime and Kiniro and Kurai were playing a game of vanguard and as they were playing people in the classroom began approaching.

"Hey what's this?" One boy asked

"Don't you know!? It's that card game vanguard!" Another boy answered

"I never knew you played Kiniro" A girl said looking to Kiniro

Kiniro chuckled sheepishly looking around to all the kids that once didn't talk to him much start to gather around him. Kurai simply looking to them then spoke up glancing to Kiniro.

"We better finish with a bang huh Kin?" Kurai suggested ready to continue

Kiniro looked back to Kurai and nodded as he then rode to grade three continuing their game.

~End of Flashback~

"That day things started changing for me. You helped me change Shade" Kiniro said with a smile, similar to the one he had when they were children

Kurai scoffed at this as he took a card from his hand once more.

"That day was just another day, nothing more. I only said what I did then because I wanted to be done with our game" Kurai said

"But you were having so much fun with our game. I wished to share it with the others and I know-"

"What? That I wanted to as well? You're just deluding yourself saying that" Kurai interrupted Kiniro

Kiniro looked to his cards as he flashed back to when he was playing with Kurai back then. Although the decks aren't the same situations were almost like back then.

"Thinking of the past is pointless. I ride Reinforcement Warlock, Grent (8000)" Kurai announced

A black haired man with a goatee to match his hair, wearing a blue robe, a sword in one hand, a wand in the other and wearing a necklace with 4 runes, 1 brown for earth, 1 light blue for wind, 1 jet black for darkness and 1 white for light took the grey haired males place with his wand pointing at the girl in silver armour.

"I'll call Mythical Beast, Fenrir (7000)" Kurai stated

A silver wolf with blood red eyes, metal fangs, a gold headpiece and a rune on its chest surrounded by symbols appeared at the black haired males left and howled as a purple mist surrounded the light blue dog behind the silver armoured boy as the dog whimpered for a second but then the mist seemed to disappear.

"With Fenrir's skill I counter blast 1 to give Hourgal Hex" Kurai stated

'It's coming' Kiniro thought knowing full well what Hex can do

"Next I call Young Magician, Quince (4000)" Kurai added

A light appeared behind the wolf as a man with a white suit appeared and he adjusted his glasses as his black hair covered his eyes slightly as he held a tome.

"Using it's skill, I'll move him to soul and give Grent 3000 power (11000) and use Grent's skill to soul blast 1 and give Fenrir 5000 power and a new skill since you have a unit with Hex (12000)" Kurai declared

'Kurai built up his power so much already' Kiniro thought

"Now with Kamlock's support, Grent strikes down your Jeanne (16000)" Kurai declared

"I won't guard" Kiniro decided

"Checking the drive trigger (Magician of Forbidden Arts, Mystic Tsukikage - No Trigger)" Kurai revealed

The black haired man raised his sword and his rune of earth started to glow as once his magic gathered around the blade he slashed the ground creating an earthquake that struck the girl in silver armour causing her pain.

"Damage check (Legacy Hero Protector, Historic Pterodactyl - No trigger)" Kiniro revealed

"Now Fenrir will take care of that Herman (12000)" Kurai declared

Kiniro looked to Herman for a second and then back to Kurai.

"I won't guard" Kiniro deciding closing his eyes

The silver wolf howled again as it then charged at the armoured boy and with its fangs bites through his armour and he turns to dust as the wolf leaped back into position.

"Due to the effect gained from Grent, since the attack Fenrir made hit I get to counter charge one" Kurai stated turning his damage face up

"I end my turn there" Kurai said

"I stand and draw" Kiniro stated as he drew Clockwork and then looked to Kurai with his eyes closed

"Will you be okay young lord?" Clockwork suddenly asked as he appeared in spirit form beside me

'I know the stakes are high Clockwork...' Kiniro thought communicating with his avatar as he looked to Kurai

"As long as you don't give up I know you'll get through to him" Clockwork encouraged

Kiniro suddenly had his memories of the time that Abyss tried to erase the vanguard he knew come rushing back through his mind and of the times that Kurai had helped him like when they were children and Kiniro opened his eyes raising Clockwork's card to the sky.

"I ride my avatar! Present Generation Legacy Hero, Chronic Clockwork (9000)!" Kiniro announced

The girl in silver armour raised her flag as a beam of light enshrouded her as from the time energy light emerged a sword of the same energy cut through it and a blond haired man wearing light blue Graphene armour with clocks engraved in it, a hat with an orb on it, holding a greatsword made of time energy and a wrist device on his left arm was revealed and he looked to Kurai and his forces.

"So you finally got Clockwork into play" Kurai said

"I call Legacy Hero, Master Dragon (9000)" Kiniro stated

In front of the light blue dog a light shone from the heavens and a large white furred dragon with a long grey snout, a standing moustache and beard, gold headpiece, and brown horns with 2 gold rings descended in front of the dog.

"Clockwork attacks the vanguard (9000)!" Kiniro declared

"I won't guard that attack" Kurai decided

"Drive check (Legacy Hero, Rewind Tiger - Critical Trigger) a critical. Power to Master Dragon, critical to vanguard"

As the blonde haired male readied its sword he looked to not just the jet black haired male he also seemed to look at Kurai as well as he then made a quick motion of dashing at the male as in seconds he would clash with the warlock but the blonde proved too strong for the magic user defending itself with a sword as his sword would be parried and the time traveller would land two strikes making the magic user fall to his knees.

"Damage trigger check (Cursing Sword Magician, Fergas - No Trigger, Mystic Healer, Jibril - Heal Trigger), a heal trigger huh? Power to my vanguard and I recover one damage" Kurai revealed as he took Quince from his damage zone placing it in the drop zone

"With a boost from Hourgal, Master Dragon will attack Fenrir! (19000)" Kiniro declared

"I won't guard that" Kurai stated

The large white furred dragon had set its sights on the wolf as it flew in and constricted the beast with its tail as the wolf let out a howl as it turned into purple dust.

"With that I will end my turn" Kiniro said

"With that Hourgal's Hex is active, what will you do Kiniro?" Kurai asked

The small blue dog was enveloped in the purple mist from earlier as it was constricting around it causing the small pup to whimper.

"I discard a card so that Hourgal isn't retired" Kiniro stated as he dropped a card from his hand

"My turn..I stand and draw" Kurai stated as he looked to the card and then looked to Kiniro "You'll never win Kiniro, I won't let you win" he continued as he raised a card to the sky as Kiniro focused his gaze on Kurai knowing what the card was

"A man with the power of the secret, forbidden arts, he uses his powers for the sake of defending the magical creatures of the world, I ride my avatar! Magician of Forbidden Arts, Mystic Tsukikage! (11000)" Kurai announced as he placed the card on the vanguard circle

The man with a goatee was surrounded in light as moments later a purple light would begin to emanate from the temple around them as moments later the light gathered around the man as when the light faded a black haired man wearing a grand sage outfit covered in ancient talismans, wearing a black headband on his head and scarf of the same colour covering his mouth, holding a scroll in one hand and a black katana took his place.

"Tsukikage..." Kiniro muttered as he felt as though something was different with him this time compared to when he spoke with him, forced into silence 'I'll be sure to help him Tsukikage' he thought preparing himself for what was to come

"Here I come. I call Magician of Black Magic, Shada (9000)" Kurai announced

A brown haired man wearing a dark purple wizard cloak with mystic symbols etched across the outfit and holding a large wooden staff with a large green orb at the top.

"Now I'll attack Clockwork with Tsukikage boosted by Kamlock (16000)" he announced not sparing a moment to begin his attack

"I won't guard that" Kiniro decided

"Twin drive (Forbidden Arts Prodigy, Kadabra - No Trigger, Surprise Curse Magician, Finnagus - No Trigger) no triggers" Kurai revealed as he placed the cards in his hand

The black haired man had raised his katana and the scroll he had began to glow as the energy transferred through his arms into his katana and he would dash towards the blonde haired male and as the two of them were face to face the blonde had blocked the katana with a struggle and moments later the jet black sword had parried the great sword and would land a blow on the time traveller as he winced looking to the magic user.

"Damage check (Mighty Legacy Hero Commander, Oda Nobunaga - No Trigger)" Kiniro revealed then looking to Clockwork behind him seeing that he was damage 'Hang in there Clockwork' he thought looking back to Kurai

"Shada will attack Clockwork next (9000)" Kurai declared "I won't guard" Kurai decided

The brown haired male had chanted a spell as a green energy resonated from the orb on his staff as he held it forward towards the blonde and would fire a bolt of energy causing a smokescreen damaging the field around him.

"Damage check (Legacy Hero Data Drone - Draw Trigger) It's a draw trigger, the power goes to Clockwork and I draw a card" Kiniro revealed placing the unit in the damage zone and then taking the top card of his deck

"That will end the turn" Kurai stated

'Kurai didn't use Hex last turn, he must be waiting for the chance to use it' Kiniro thought thinking back on Kurai's style of play using Spellbound Hex "I stand and draw!" Kiniro said as he took the top card of his deck and closed his eyes before opening them again

"Master of the future generation, come to my aid and show those who harm my friends, your mastery over time, I ride my Avatar! Future Generation Legacy Hero, Master Clockwork! (11000)" Kiniro announced

The blonde haired male had been surrounded in a blue light which turned a golden colour as moments later it would fade revealing a blond haired man wearing techno patterned graphene armour infused with energy, wearing a white scarf covering his mouth, an advance gauntlet on his right arm, and holding a longsword made of energy in one hand and an energy infused graphene shield with the numbers 1 to 12 in the other.

"I'll be sure to show you what I can do Shade" Kiniro said as Kurai grit his teeth at how Kiniro responded "Now I attack your vanguard with Master Dragon boosted by Hourgal! (14000)" he declared

"I don't guard" Kurai decided

The white dragon had radiated with a white light as the golden rings had expanded and fired off the energy in bursts as it hit the black haired male knocking him down.

"Damage check (Trickster Mage, Presto - No Trigger)" Kurai revealed

"Clockwork will attack your vanguard! (11000)" Kiniro declared

"I won't guard" Kurai decided sounding a bit more irritated

"Twin Drive! (Legacy Hero Beast, Temporal Wolf - No Trigger, Legacy Hero Future Dinosaur King, Big - No Trigger)" Kiniro revealed

The blonde haired male looked to the black haired man and raised his great sword as his armour shone from the energy radiating off his body as he would then charge towards the magic user and although he tried to block with his katana ultimately the time lord had managed to disappear reappearing behind him and slashed at him causing more damage.

"Damage check (Mystic Healer, Jibril - Heal Trigger), a heal trigger. The power goes to Tsukikage and I recover one damage" Kurai revealed placing the other Jibril in the damage zone into the drop zone

"That will end my turn" Kiniro stated

"I stand and draw" Kurai said as he drew his card then looking to Kiniro with a serious gaze "You still continue to try and act like things are still in the past. This is the present Kiniro. I'm going to show you just how serious I am" he continued as he hovered a hand over Tsukikage's card

Kiniro as he did this had began to prepare himself as he would continue to remember all that Kurai has said during the fight and gripped his hand.

'I see what you've been doing now Kurai. But I'll show you...that everything will be fine' Kiniro thought

"The magician with powerful arts, calls upon his friend with magic might to match his own in order to protect, Seek Your Mate!" Kurai stated

4 cards flew out of Kurai's drop zone and returned to the deck then a light surrounded his deck and scanned through it, then a card flew out from the deck.

"The magician of forbidden arts and black magic unite as one to protect all that is mystical, Magician of Black Magic, Shada, Legion!" Kurai announced

A second brown haired man wearing a dark purple wizard cloak with mystic symbols etched across the outfit and holding a large wooden staff with a large green orb at the top appeared by the black haired males side as the crossed weapons preparing for battle.

"By the end of this battle...you'll be out of my life for good Kiniro!" Kurai exclaimed
