"Grandma! We are here! It's your granddaughters. Brie, Sophie and Nora." Brie knocking on the front door while Sophie pressed on the bell switch.

I heard a rustlings noise coming from inside and the noise is getting closer. Soon the front door was swing open wide. There she was, my grandmother. She is not really my blood related grandmother just a adopted one. But since I never got the chance to spend my life with my own grandparents, she is all I got and so does Sophie.

Brielle was her actual blood related granddaughter. Grandma is what we modern people called her, a witch. People does not believe in these witches because they think it was all fake and money scams. But she is a real witch or should I better address her in Gaelic calling; Ban-Druidh. It means a wise women, white woman also witch.

When I was a little girl, we would always have people came by her humble abode and I remembered people were calling ban-druidh. I was so curious about it and whenever I asked grandma why people called her that, she just smiled and always tell me that one day I'll know who exactly she is.

I guess after sometimes, I somehow knew who she is and I'm not afraid of her at all because ban-druidh means a white witch. White witch is someone who cast a good spells that brings happiness, light protection and connects well with the natures.

"Come in, mo muirininn." We walked into the house and instantly we can feel the peace surrounds her house.

English translation : (Come in, my darling)

"Brie, dún an doras. Thank you" I heard Brie faintly said yes grandma.

English translation : (Brie, close the door. Thank you)

To be honest, I truly missed this feelings ever since I left town for furthering my studies to university level. It has been 5 years since I last saw grandma. She still looked the same. Like she never gets old instead reverse aging. I smiled by myself.

"Le do thoil chur le suíochán, mo daor." She led me to her couch in the living room.

English translation : (Please have a seat, my darling)

"Brie, a dhéanamh dúinn roinnt tae, le do thoil. Go raibh maith agat, mo luaidh." Brie and Sophie nodded their heads and disappeared into the kitchen.

English translation : (Brie, make us some tea, please. Thank you.)

"An bhfuil tú ceart go leor, mo luaidh?" grandma put her hands on top of mine. I feel like crying so hard right now. I just lowered my head and my eyes focusing my lap.

English translation : (Are you all right, my darling?)

"Grandma! Chuaigh si direach tri breakup!" Brie shake her head and sat beside me; rubbing my back.

English translation : (Grandma! She just went through a breakup!)

"Ceart! Tá mé leithscéal as iarraidh an cheist sin." Grandma apologized. I just smiled at her.

English translation : (Right! I'm sorry for asking the question.)

I stood up and walk around the living room; browsing through the pictures on the shelves. Smiling by myself remembering all the sweet memories. Slowly, my smile fade away when my eyes landed on the last picture frame on the last. Without realizing, I was crying by myself until Grandma came over me and brought me to the couch; ushered me to sit down.

For the first time in my life, I have never felt so heart broken before. I was sobbing so hard on my grandma's shoulder in the crook of her neck. Grandma softly hummed a song while running her hands down my hair, over and over again.

After a few minutes, I bring myself all together and adjust my body posture; sitting facing grandma. As I was wiping away the tears stained on my cheeks.

"Tell grandma, mo luiadh. Cad é do mhian chrói an chuid is mó?" Grandma asked.

English translation : (Tell grandma, my dear. What is your heart desire most?)

"Grandma...If only you have the most strongest spell to get rid this pain from heart...That's what I want." I sighed softly.

I continued "But if grandma doesn't have that kind of spell, find me other spell to ease the pain. Like an elixir to get rid of this pain whenever I feel like it..."

Grandma asked me to go to her cottage by the river. Both of us walked out from the kitchen back door and made our way through a forest filled with all kind of flowers. The scenery of this garden never failed to impress me. I missed my time here.

Soon, both of us were greeted by two guards. I frowned at sight. I never knew grandma had hired security guards. Grandma went forward and talked to them. Both of them look up at me and bowed politely. I was taken aback by their gestures but I greeted them back with a curtsy. They smiled sweetly at me.

"Sergio. Kalen. Please bring my two granddaughter down here later. Also, ask them to bring my favorite tea. Thank you boys." Grandma nodded. The two drop dead gorgeous guards went up the stairs pass through the garden and disappeared at sight. I gasps.

"The-they disappear, grandma! Wow..." I was shocked. Grandma chuckled beside me.

"They are my most loyal protectors. I gave them those kind of ability. For their protection as well. I'll explain about my world to you after I solve your problem. Okay, mo luiadh?" I nodded.

I watched grandma did some kind of weird dance in front of the door. Suddenly the door open by itself. And again, I was speechless at what just happened. Grandma went into the cottage and clapped her hands three times; the room was lit up with candles. I gasped. Grandma did not say anything and just chuckled.

Grandma went to the stone table and placed her spell book. She was pretty occupied by herself; preparing something for me. In the meantime, I was walk around her cottage. Everything looked so new and odd to me because I never knew grandma had this cottage. All these years I always thought she did her business spells inside the kitchen or her study room.

"Mo luiadh, grandma found one spell. But it's an ancient spell. It says here that one must be willing to sacrifice their feelings completely..." I frowned and seemed kind blurred.

"Wait..you mean as in not having any emotions at all?" Grandma sighed heavily and nodded.

"I can do that grandma. I guess it is better to not have any emotions at all than to care about something and end up getting hurt by it..." I tied my hair up in a ponytail while replying grandma.

Knock, knock!

I heard the door opened by itself. I looked at grandma. It was her who opened the door for her two granddaughters to come in. Brie quickly placed the tray down on the counter top beside the sink. Soon, the two of them make their way towards grandma and I.

"So...what did we missed, grandma?" Brie wiggled her eyebrows. I chuckled softly. Sophie back hug me. I smiled at her sudden actions.

"Nora wants me to cast this spell." Grandma showed both of them the spell book. They gasped and look a me.

"Nora! Are you out of your mind?! You could die! I mean you can't have any emotions!" Brie snapped and Sophie just nod her head, agreeing.

"Best to be emotionless than to feel every single pain..." I answered them back.

Sophie tried to talk sense to me but I had made up my mind about it. I am tired of feeling all these emotions. It only make my life so much harder because I have to be aware of other peoples' feelings but people doesn't do the same to me. So what is the used of having emotions anyway?

I saw Brie walk to her grandma. It looks like they are arguing about my decisions. I couldn't care much. I can do anything in order for me to get rid of this feelings of falling in love. I don't care if I had to drink elixir for the rest of my life, as long as I could stop my heart from falling in love with anyone.

Brie POV

I groaned and make my way to grandma who stood by the stone table; flipping through all her spells books. I stood beside grandma for awhile' watching her flipping through all her spells books for another spells.

"An bhfuil tú ag dul a dhéanamh air, grandma?" grandma looked at me for second and go back flipping through her spell book.

English translation : (Are you going to do it, grandma?)

"Tá a fhios agat go bhfuil sé dodhéanta!! Ar mhaith bás Ag iarraidh! Níl mé ag iarraidh sin a tharlóildh!" I snapped at grandma. Grandma stopped and look at me. Slowly she smiled at me. I frowned at her.

English translation : (You know it's impossible!! You would die trying!! I do not want that to happen!)

Grandma went in to her study room on the other side of the cottage while dragging me along. I quickly follow her and stood there while grandma trying to find some books on the top shelf. I was tapping on my feet suddenly I heard grandma laughed. I looked up and she was waving the book in the air. I chuckled. Sometimes my grandma can be such a kid.

"Ná bíodh imní ort, mo leanbh." I raise my eyebrow. Grandma open up the old diary. There was a name written at the bottom of the page and it wrote Aldora. Who is Aldora?

English translation : (Do not worry, my child.)

"Tá mé seal eile a mhúin mo mhaíthair liom." I nodded. Meaning to say that Aldora was my great grandmother.

English translation : (I have another spell that my mother taught me.)

"Are you sure it's going to work, grandma?" I bit my lower lip; feeling worried.

Grandma just simply nodded and gathered all her potions, crystals, candles, herbs and a pair of ancient knife. I gasped at sight and pointed the knife that was in her hand. Grandma did not say anything but somehow I can hear her voice saying that she is going to cut Nora with it. It's part of the ritual.

Soon after that, grandma ordered Nora to change her clothe and put on an ancient robe. The robe was silky white and it has gold designs on the side of it. It was so pretty.

Sophie rushed towards me. She pulled to the corner of the room.

"Did grandma decide to do that spell on Nora?! Is it out of her mind or something?!" I chuckled. Sophie huffed.

"Grandma, I need to talk to Sophie about the ritual. To prepare her." Grandma nodded. Both of us exit the room and leave Nora inside the cottage.

"Look, I was acted the way you did just now. But then grandma found a spell that my great grandmother taught her. She will make Nora believe that she is doing that spell. But actually she is using her mother's spell." Sophie nodded happily.

"Thank gods! I was actually about to sabotage the ritual." I hit the back of head.

"You do know it is dangerous to do that?" Sophie chuckled.

" I know. I was just joking." We both laughed and made our way back to the cottage.

Grandma's POV

I am truly sorry, mo muirninn for lying about the spell that I'm about to cast. This is for your own good and future. I do not want to see you suffer your life being alone for the rest of your life. Thank you, mom for the spell. It's like you can foresee the future. You told me there will be a time that someone close to me will need this spell. I guess this is the time. I thought to myself while preparing the ritual for Nora.

"Grandma. I'm done changing. What next?" I looked at her and smiled by myself. How could someone so close to her could do such thing to my granddaughter. I sighed softly.

"Please lay down on the stone table here, mo luaidh." Nora nodded and got up on the stone table; lay down slowly.

"Mo luiadh, an bhfuil tú cinnte? An bhfuil tú sásta a sacrifice do mhothúcháin faoi?" I asked.

English translation : (Are you sure? Are you willing to sacrifice your feelings about it?)

"Yes grandma. I won't change my mind about it...Do what grandma have to do. You want to cut me open for blood or anything. DO it." I nodded.

I looked at Brie and Sophie. "Girls, please hold each others' hands and do not let go no matter what happen until I say so. Okay?" The girls nodded their head.

I took a deep breath and did a cleansing ritual for all of my tools and the surrounding. To get rid of any evil spirits that tries to disturbs the sacred ritual. After that, this is the time I chant these spells to stop her pulse while I cut open her heart.

"I call to the powers below and above,

North, East, South, West,

Rivers shall flow be pure,

And cirstline but red rivers,

Shall not the must be,

Trapped inside her being..."

I quickly wipe her chest with the dampened cloth that was soaked in a bowl of lavender. Then, I wipe the knife with the same cloth. Slowly I cut open her chest while chanting the spell to temporary stop her pulse and from bleeding. I took out the diary of my mother. It says that I have to take out her heart from her body and placed in a chest box and sealed it will salt and chant several lines of spells.

"Girls, I know what I'm doing. Be strong. She needs your strengths and faith. That is keeping her life going right now. Alright?" the girls nodded their heads.

I took a deep breath. I take out her heart and place it in an ancient box and sealed it salt and I chanted few lines of the spells.

"Larraim at na cumhachtaí agus níos sine

(I call to the powers and older)

Thuaidh, Thoir, Theas, Thiar

(North, East, South, West)

Fágann bás a briseadh croí

(Death leaves a heartache)

Is féidir aon dune a leigheas

(No one can heal)

Fágann grá a chuimh ne

(Love leaves a memory)

Is fèidir aon duine steal

(No one can steal)

Bealtaine, Nora Joanne Grayson

(May Nora Joanne Grayson)

Beidh heartache thuilleadh panache..."

Suddenly there was a light coming from inside the chest box. I heard a faint noise coming from inside the box. Thud, thud, thud.

It was Nora's heart. It's beating inside the box. I sighed in relieved that the spell worked. I look up, the girls was crying. Happy tears. I divert my attention to box and tried to opened it. I can't open it. Suddenly there was a message written on mother's diary. It says that the box can only be open when that person found his/her true love. It could take years but the heart will be forever beating until it found their true love.

I gasped at the note that was left behind in hidden by my mother. If only she is still here with her. I'm afraid I could not retrieved back the beating heart of Nora to her body when she found her true love.

I stop myself from thinking too much and quickly complete the spell. I took out the crystal necklace and place it on the box and lay my hand on Nora's chest while chanting the last part of the spell for the ritual:

"Seo cloch cneasaithe tarrairgionn sé ar shiúl

(The healing stone draws away)

Beidh sí a bheith at cheann aris

(She will be one again)

Beidh sí a bheith saor in aisce

(She will be free)"

I sighed in relieved that the ritual went according to plan. The girls was anxious over Nora because she is still unconscious lay down on the stone table. I went to the closet and change her robe into a decent clothing. Then I made my way to the door and call for Sergio and Kalan.

Within second, they appear right before me and bowed as a sign of greeting me. I did the same to them.

"Boys, help me to bring my granddaughter from the stone table to the guest bedroom, please. Thank you boys. " they nodded their head and went inside the cottage and carried Nora out from the cottage and disappear at sight.

The girls gasped at sight. " Grandma! Who are those boys?! They looked so hot. Damn grandma."

I chuckled at their responses. "They are my protectors. They are like my sons." Brie and Sophie giggling happily and we all head back home.

Nora's POV

I had such a terrible dream. It was that part where Shawn was cheating on me with my own childhood best friend, Kathy. I hated that. I hated them. Especially Kathy. Why can't I wake up from this bad dream? It's like everything is on replay. From the beginning how I met Shawn until that hurtful part. Suddenly I feel someone was calling for my name, over and over again. It was then, I managed to wake up from that bad dream.

I looked around my surrounding. I was my bedroom. Slowly, my eyes landed on Brie and Sophie sitting at the foot of my bed while grandma was beside me. They all looked so happy and relieved. I smiled at them and slowly sit up.

"How long was I laid unconscious?" I asked while combing my hair with my fingers.

"About an hour or so. It was too long. You got us so worried." Brie snapped. Sophie and grandma just laughed.

"I'm sorry. But grandma, what happen to me? And why do I have this necklace on me? Why there's a cut mark on my chest where my heart is?" I asked tons of questions because I was so curious.

Grandma sighed heavily and said "I cut your chest open to take out your heart. I placed it in a box. It's safe with me. Don't be scare because your heart is all good. But, if you ever want your feelings back, you need to find yourself a true love..."

True love. These words seemed like it's no longer exist in my dictionary of life. I don't know what is true love means know. The man whom I thought was my true love ended up cheated on me with my fucking best friend. I guess it was for the best to have my heart cut and taken out from my body. At least, I don't have to face any emotions like that ever again. I thought to myself and slowly nod my head as respond to my grandma.

"You can't feel any heat radiating off her,

She's breathing but dead at the same time,

Her paradise used to be a Paradise,

But one unfaithful night, she lost everything that she had.

Including her heart..."

My name is Nora Greyson. This is my story about how I cast a spell and locked away my heart for all eternity. Therefore no one could ever hurt me and I don't have to feel anything. And little did I know, a little bird told me that only a true love could break the spell. Even people claimed that as well. I tried to find it, found it or at least that is what I thought.

Sadly, there is no true love in this very damned earth.
