Paisley POV_*

After lunch I had 4 more periods left.

They went by really quick.

I was walking out of the school when someone shouted my name.

"Hey Paisley!"

I turned around and smiled.

It was Chase.

He walked up to me.

"Hey Chase. What's up?"

"Um nothing. I just wanted to say that im glad we are friends."

I smiled and I felt the blush starting to color my face.

"Me too. Anyways I have to go. I have something to take care of."

I walked away smiling like an idiot.

××Chase POV××

"Hey Paisley!"

I called out to my new alien friend.

She turned around and smiled.

God her smile. Its enough to make me smile the entire day.

I walked up to her.

"Hey Chase. What's up?"

I almost face palmed myself.

Why did I call her for?

"Um Nothing I just wanted to say that im glad we are friends."

Really Chase? Thats the best you could come up with? Whats wrong with you?

She smiled and she began to turn red.

Did I over do it?

"Me too. Anyways I got have to go. I have something to take care of."

I watched as she walked away.

I dont know what it is but I feel like I know her from somewhere. Like Ive seen her.

I sighed and ran my hand through my hair.

Why am I like this? I met a girl who I barely know and I feel like I know her? What the fuck? Its like im that werewolf guy from twilight that ends up with that half human half vampire girl who was a newborn and he basically married her though he was like 17 years older.

I walked to my convertible.

It was white with black tires and red seats.

Those are 3 of my favorite colors.
I started the car.

I drove like 3 miles and stopped at a red light cause im that much of an awesome driver.

I stopped by a group of girl and they all giggled and waved at me.

I rose an eyebrow and slowly waved back.

They all smirked and winked at me.

I shivered.

I hated when that happened. I felt like I was being watched by one of those creepy baby dolls who giggle when you press their stomachs and blink and they sometimes only one eye closes instead of both.

I drove past the houses and then drove to my house.

I live in what you would call a mansion.

My dad is the owner of Santiago incorporated. He along with my mom opened up a business that focused on making and selling instruments. They started with a small shop that then started to have great business and my parents opened a whole bunch of stores around the world which gave them riches.

I got my love for music from my mom and dad.

My mom played guitar and violin as a child. She taught me and my brother Damion but he didnt really like it or got interested in it. But me and my mother formed a bond over music. The same with my dad. He was a musician. He played saxophone and drums. I learned how to play many instruments from the violin to the electric guitar.

I just love music.

I walked into my house and greeted Michael.

"Hey Michael."

"Hello Mr. Santiago."

"Michael how many times do I have to tell you to just call me Chase?"

"Im sorry sir."

"Michael. Its Chase. Ok? Now say it with me . C-H-AA-SS-E."

Michael just looked at me.

"Chase."

I smiled.

"GOOD JOB MICHAEL!!!" I rose my hand for a fist pump.

He just smiled fist pumped me and walked to the kitchen .

Michael was like our guardian.
Hes our butler but I see him as a close uncle or something. He makes sure that neither Damion or I do something stupid or something that could kill us while my parents are out of town on business with is very often.

We are also very close. He used to play with me as a child when Damion used to ignore me. He was like my savior.

He didnt have a good relationship with my brother.

My brother would do something stupid even after Michael told him not to and why he shouldn't. He wouldn't listen and he treated him like shit. But he couldnt really do anything.

I walked up the stairs and was on my way to my room when the smell of alcohol smacked me in the face like Captain Americas shield to iron mans face.

I opened the door to Damion's room.

He sat there drinking alcohol with a cigarette in his hand.

He looked up at me.

"What the hell are you doing in my room?"

I breathed out deeply.

Im not in the mood for fighting.

"I just came to make sure you were ok."

He laughed bitterly.

"Like you give a fuck if im ok. So dont pretend like you do. I dont need you to top all of this off Mr.Im-so-perfect. You know what? Just leave. I dont wanna see your face right now or ever."

I walked out of his room with my head hung low.

I was hurt.

I know you may think its stupid for a 17 year old boy to care about what his siblings say but it hurt.
Damion was my best and closest friend growing up. But when we were 10 he started fighting with me and disobeying my parents. He was my twin and it hurts that the person who was with you during birth doesn't like you or hates your existence when you used to be best friends.

I went to my room and changed into a pair of swim trunks.

I walked out to our backyard.

I cautiously walked out and looked to my right and left.
Then I turned and kept looking.

Then I heard a bark.

I turned around and was tackled by my husky Midnight.

"Hey boy!!"

This is something Midnight and I do when I get home.

I stood up and threw his favorite ball towards the small fountain surrounded by flowers that my mom loved. He caught it and ran back.

I reached for his leash.

"Do you want to go for a walk?"

He barked happily.

I took it as a yes and started walking towards Enders State park. I walked towards the waterfall that I came to swim in and wash out all the negative thoughts and feelings.

I slipped my shirt off and I dived into the water. Midnight howled and jumped in.

I laughed.

A dog really is a guys best friend.

I went under the waterfall and sat on the ground behind it. I just sat there and looked at the water falling. It calmed me down.

Midnight laid down next to me.

Then all of a sudden Midnight jolted up. I look at him confused.

What happened.

I slowly looked from the side of the waterfall.

I saw a girl with blonde hair on her knees with her head in her hands crying.

I grabbed my shirt put it on and walked over to her with Midnight following behind me.

"Hey. Are you ok?"

She jumped up.

She was tall and had icy blue eyes.
She was pretty. But I wasnt attracted to her.

She cleared her throat.

"Yeah im fine."

"Ok I may be a guy but that doesn't mean im dumb."

She just chuckled.

I know I didnt really know this girl but im that kind of person that will help someone. Thats one of the qualities I got from my parents.

She started tearing up.

"Just that I found out I have um....."
Her voice cracked as she whispered
"I um have blood cancer."

I was confused.

"Ok. Wait hold up. Calm down. Just start from the beginning."

She sat down.

"Its a long story."

I looked at Midnight who sat down and nodded. I sat down after.

"Its ok we got time."

She told me how she didnt go to school today cause she wasnt feeling good for a couple of weeks. Her mom took her to the hospital and they took blood test. And they told her she had blood cancer. She hadn't told her best friend cause she didnt want her to worry and she wanted to tell her when she went to school which is the same school I go to. She also didnt want to tell her cause she was in pain cause her boyfriend and childhood best friend had just recently died.

I took it all in.

Wow.

I hugged her cause I felt bad.

"Im sorry for both you and your friend. I really hope that everything gets better."

She smiled. "Thanks for listening to me."

I smiled.

"No prob."

She wiped her eyes.

"My name is Allison Colin."

"Im Chase Santiago."
