Chad arrives at Emmy's apartment just a half hour since she got home with Andrew behind her. He quickly notices that something is wrong. The door to her apartment is open. He reaches for his gun to prepare himself for what may be inside. He sighs and realizes he is not in uniform so he does not have his gun on him.

He pushes the door open slowly and notices the broken lock. 'This can't be good,' he thinks to himself as he enters the apartment. "Emmy?" He calls out as he looks around.

"In here." She calls out quietly. Chad follows the sound of her voice and finds her folded in a corner of her bedroom with a bloody nose and cut lip. Chad walks over to Emmy. He passes the bed and sees someone else is here with Emmy. He looks back at Emmy. "What happened?" He asks.

Emmy ignores his question and asks a question of her own. "Is he dead?"

Chad walks over to Andrew and feels around for a pulse. He nods, confirming her fears. "Yes." He turns back to face Emmy as she cries even harder. "What happened here Emmy?" He kneels on the floor in front of her.

"Hes my ex." She shakes her head. "He broke in and-" She stutters and struggles to find words for the event as she relives it in her memory.

"He attacked you." Chad assumes based on her cut lip and the dried blood on her face from her bloody nose. Emmy nods. "We need to call the police and report this."

"I didn't mean to kill him. I-I just wanted it to stop." She says as more tears flood to her eyes. She cant hold them back anymore.

Chad moves closer to her and wraps his arms around her shoulders as she cries. "Please don't cry. Its alright. I'm here now."

"I am a bad person Chad. I don't want to be bad anymore." She wails in his arms as he rocks with her.

Chad shakes his head. "You aren't a bad person Emmy. It was self defense. Believe me, you did nothing wrong. You wont be charged."

Emmy shakes her head and wipes some of her tears away from her eyes. She pulls away from Chad and stands herself up.

"I think you should leave Chad." She stands in the doorway and holds back more tears. "I really just need to be alone right now."

Chad stands and stares at her as she walks towards her front door. "A-are you sure? You don't want me to stay with you until you calm down?" Chad understands that she may want to be alone but he also knows she needs to call the police and get this straightened out. She is going to need someone to lean on when she tells the story of what lead up to Andrew's death.

Emmy nods. She wants him to leave. "I really just want to be alone."

Chad nods. He respects her request but he wishes she would let him help her. "At least let me sit outside your door to wait for the police. I won't bother you at all. I'll just stand watch until they get here. I can get you a new lock too."

Emma shakes her head and leads Chad to the door. "I can handle the police myself. Thank you." She smiles sadly.

Chad cups her face in his hands, sending chills through her body. She grabs on to his fingers with hers. "You aren't a bad person Emmy. Just remember that this isn't your fault."

Emmy removes Chad's fingers from her cheeks. "There's a man dead in my bedroom and a woman lying in a 4th street alleyway. Both dead because of me. He shot her and I just watched. I didn't report it or try to get help. So please don't tell me again that I'm not a bad person. Because I am." Emmy begins crying harder as she shuts the door, leaving Chad outside, dumbfounded.

He knows what he just heard. He knows his girlfriend committed a crime. He is in shock. She was a witness to a murder. Chad leans against her door and shakes his head. He also realizes that she could have also been murdered herself had she not defended herself against Andrew.

He grabs his phone and dials 911. He needs to report this to the police so he can help Emmy in every way possible. He doesn't want her charged for a crime she didn't want to commit. She was forced into watching the murder by Andrew. Chad knows it. He believes that is what happened. He doesn't think she intentionally did anything illegal or wrong.

"This is off duty Officer Parkson. I'm calling to report two deaths. I'm at the scene of one of them and I have an approximate location of another." He speaks to the operator as he paces the hallway in front of Emmy's apartment.
