Emmy and Chad arrive at the restaurant, arm in arm. Chad finds the rest of the gang sitting at a table set up for six. Fae, John, and Sasha are already here. The chief however, is not.

The pair walk over to the table, Emmy gripping Chad's arm tighter. She is nervous about meeting all of his friends. It helps that one of his friends is one of hers as well.

Emmy walks over and waves at everyone as they spot the couple. She shuffles behind the seats to kiss Sasha on the cheek before sitting down next to her at the table.

"So you just be the beautiful lady Chad has refused to stop talking about." John laughs, motioning to Emmy.

She shrugs with a laugh. "I suppose if it isn't me, he's got a lot of explaining to do."

"So, I'm just going to ask it. How did you two meet?" Fae asks Emmy, leaning across the table to hear the story.

"Oh, it's so exciting. Maybe not exciting like a movie or anything but defiantly exciting for me at least. Sasha here set us up on a blind set actually. She's apparently a mutual friend of ours. Small world right?" Emmy smiles at Chad as she tells his friends the story. "It's been a whirlwind romance. Since we met, we have barely been apart." Chad nods to agree with every detail of the short but adorable story.

"A blind date?" Fae asks. "You weren't worried about her setting you up with a possible serial killer?"

"I trust Sasha." Emmy smiles in the direction of her friend, making eye contact with her "and hey, if he is a serial killer, at least he's a cute one. If he decides to kill me, at least I would die happy."

The whole table erupts in laughter at her joke. They love her sense of humor. It just seems so natural coming from her. Everything sounds so magical coming out of her mouth.

The server comes over and pours everyone a complimentary glass of wine to get them started for the night. John initiated a toast by lifting his glass. Everyone quickly follows suit and raises their glasses while he speaks.

"To all of our happy and long relationships, both romantic and friendly. I hope we all stay together for a long time. I like hanging out with you people." Everyone brings their glasses to the middle to connect their glasses after the beautifully worded toast.

Emmy sets her glass down and grabs Chad's arm. She smiles and looks up at him. "I have to say, I was really worried about meeting all of you but I feel like I just got right in with you guys. Thanks for making me feel so welcome."

Chad rests his hand on top of hers and smiles. He knows his friends feel the exact same way she does. And he knows they are very hesitant when he says he's really in love and he thinks he's found the one. But he knows their opinions don't matter when it comes to his feelings. He's going to love her even if they don't.

But lucky for him, they do. They absolutely adore her quirky attitude. Even Fae, who has known Chad for years and years and is harder to impress than a parent or a sibling, loves her for Chad. All of Chad's friends approve of this relationship. They can tell she really makes him happy. They know chad deserves to be happy and if Emmy is what gives that to him, so be it.

And none of them think he is crazy anymore for wanting to propose and get married to her right away. They see it that Chad needs to tie her down before she changes her mind and runs away.

But that is not how Chad sees it at all. He sees it as the quicker they get married, the quicker they can spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
