Emmy shows up at the courthouse in her finest white dress, one she specially picked out for this occasion. It isn't the fanciest of dresses but it is perfect for their low-key wedding at the courthouse.

She spots Chad in the corner of the large room, sitting in a plastic seat, tapping his foot anxiously on the ground beneath it.

She is worried when she sees that he has not even bothered to change out of his uniform. She suddenly feels very overdressed.

"So, have you come here to marry me or to be a runway groom?" Emmy asks, sitting down beside him on a seat.

"I haven't decided yet." Chad answers honestly.

Emmy nods. "I'm so sorry Chad. I should have told you everything when I had the chance. Please don't leave me. I love you."

"I love you too. But this just doesn't feel right anymore. I was originally going to tell you I can't marry you this way. Not here. I wanted you to have the big wedding you deserve. But now, I don't think I can marry you at all."

Emmy nods. She understands that he feels like he has been betrayed by her. She is just happy that he is talking to her at all. "Is there anything I can do? I really want to try to make this work."

"I want to make this work too." Chad grabs her hand in her lap. "But I can't be with you if you are going to be arrested. And especially not if it is going to be as frequent as it said in that file.

"Believe me when I say this Chad, I don't plan on that happening ever again." Emmy squeezes his hand with hers.

"No one plans on getting arrested Emmy." Chad reminds her that she does not control the police.

"You're right." Emmy finds a better way to rephrase what she said. "I mean that I am not going to do anything that will result in me being arrested."

Chad nods. He can tell that she is being sincere. "You are sure that all of that crime life is behind you and in the past now?"

Emmy nods. "I have never been so sure about anything in my entire life. Except that I love you Chad."

"Then let's start over." Chad suggests. "From the beginning."

Emmy nods and smiles as happy tears begin to form in her eyes. "I would love to start over."

Chad turns towards her in the seat with purpose. "You understand that this means we aren't getting married right now, right?"

Emmy grabs the engagement ring on her finger and slides it off. She places it down in the palm of his hand. She understands exactly what she is doing right now. It hurts her to take off the ring but she knows their relationship will only become better for it. She is willing to do this and start over with him in order to strengthen their relationship.

After handing it to him, she thought she would feel as though a piece of her was missing. But it is not the ring she needs in her life: It's Chad. "As long as it's what you want, I'll wait as long as you need until you are ready to give me that ring again." She comforts him in his decision.

Chad stares at the ring in his hand. He lifts it and slides it back on her finger. "I said we weren't getting married right now. I never said I didn't want to call you my fiancé anymore."

Emmy smiles and kisses Chad's cheek. "You won't regret this. I promise. I'm going to be better for you." She grabs his hand and squeezes it tight.

"I want you to be better for yourself Emmy. Not for me. Do it for yourself."
