Chad sits hunched over his desk, tears falling onto the paperwork he is supposed to be filling out.

He is incredibly upset. There are things in her file he didn't think she was capable of. He is rethinking everything about their relationship and who she is.

Fae walks over and places her hand on his back. She feels awful about what is happening to him. "I'm so sorry Chad."

"Why are you sorry? She's the one who should be sorry. She's a liar and criminal." Chad moans.

"I'm sure there's an explanation for all this. Maybe most of the stuff she did wasn't a big deal she's obviously never served a huge amount of jail time." Fae tries to soothe him.

"oh yeah, like burning down a barn isn't a big deal at all right? That's minor?" Chad answers sarcastically.

Chad sits up straight in his chair. He has come to a realization. He stands up. He angrily stomps his way back to the jail cells where Emmy is being held.

" Chad where are you going?" Fae calls out for him as he leaves her alone at his desk where she was just comforting him.

Emmy lifts her head up when she hears Chad come into the room. She is so excited to see him. She hopes he can find it in his heart to forgive her for everything she's done.

Fae runs in after him to see what he's going to do. She hopes he isn't going to do something that he will regret.

"Was it you?" Chad asks.

"Was what me?" Emmy asks in return. She knows he is mad at her but she is still grateful that he is at least taking to her.

A few months ago there was a fire at an old lady's house. Someone set her shed on fire. I was sent to investigate. Were you the one who said it? Were you the girl on the motorcycle that night?" Chad explains in great detail what he is looking for.

Fae looks at Emmy, waiting for her answer. They have been trying to solve this case for a while now. She will be shocked if Chad just solved it.

Emmy hangs her head. "It was you wasn't it!" Chad scoffs, even angrier than he was before. "And the robberies too?" I mean that. Chad is shocked. He would have never thought she was capable of doing something like this. She not only lied to him but she's committed so many crimes. Chad is at a loss for words. He thought he knew exactly who he was engaged to, but now he has no idea.

He doesn't think he can forgive her for any of this.

"So now let me ask you this. The little old lady that you said Andrew killed, did you have anything to do with it?" He questions Emmy. He needs to know if she is a murderer too. He needs to know if she lied to him about that also. "When you said he hurt you, was any of that true?"

Chad and Fae both wait for her answer. Neither of them can wait to hear what she says.

Emmy shakes her head. "He forced me to watch him kill her. He just want to rob her but then things got escalated. The only thing I did to her was not report her murder. And I really regret that. She deserved better." Emmy pauses and looks up at Chad with tears in her eyes. "And no, nothing I told you about what Andrew did to me was a lie."

"Chad, stop. Stop this right now. Stop interrogating her. She is your fiancé not a suspect." Fae interjects herself. She can tell that Emmy has had enough of this.

"She seems more like a suspect than my fiancé anymore." Chad is deeply angered and upset by this whole situation.

He doesn't know what to do. He loves Emmy but he can't get past the fact that she's a criminal. She is everything that he works to lock up. She exact opposite of what he is looking for in a wife.

Emmy is really upset that all of this is unfolding. She doesn't know how to fix the situation. She just wants to make it better. Chad does not deserve this. She would do anything to make him feel better. But unfortunately, she stuck behind bars and she can't help.

"Chad, I'm so sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen. I've really tried to be good. I have really been trying to be good for you. I'm trying to get better." Emmy explains to him.

"I don't believe you." Chad storms out of the room.

Fae looks over at Emmy, believing every word she just said. "I'm going to try to fix this."

"You really don't have to do that. I messed things up with him. I should be the one to fix it." Emmy leans her forehead on the cold bars.

Fae shakes her head. She feels a sense of urgency to do what she feels is right. She chases Chad and follows him out of the room.

"Chad!" Fae yells. She corners him in the parking garage below their building. "Let me just ask you something before you storm off and throw a temper tantrum." Fae takes his car keys from him so he can not run away. "When is the last time she robbed someone? Maybe a month ago? And when is the last time a fire took place where the suspect was nowhere to be found?" She asks rhetorically.

Chad shrugs. "What are you trying to say?"

"I'm trying to say that I believe her when she says she's trying to be better for you. I really think she stopped robbing people and setting fires randomly because of you. I think she's telling the truth when she says all that.

"Funny. You have always been the one to be a stickler for the rules. You never allow me to bend or break any rules when it comes to fighting crime. Now here you are advocating for a criminal to be set free and forgiven." Chad scoffs. "Just because you have a hunch doesn't mean it's right."

"The evidence suggests it too. It's not just my hunch." Fae defends herself. "Don't just quit the relationship just because you hit a bump in the road."

Chad throws his hands up into the air. "I just can't get over the fact that I'm sleeping with the woman responsible for setting fires and robbing people."

"Well you are just going to have to if you really love her." Fae sighs and hands him his keys back.
