After sharing a delicious breakfast Chad prepared for Emmy at his apartment, the pair are on a walk through a park by where he lives.

They hold hands and walk through the leafy path. Every so often, people pass them on the path they follow.

Today is the day. Chad has decided that he is ready to take the next step in their relationship and ask Emmy to marry him. He thinks this is the perfect place to do it too. Today is perfect. The weather is great, the sun is shining, and most importantly, Emmy is in a fantastic mood. He knows nothing can go wrong. It can't go wrong.

Chad takes a deep breath and feels around in his pocket for the little velvet covered box containing the ring. "It's not or never," he thinks.

Emmy grips Chad's fingers tighter as a dog comes in to view up ahead. "Chad!" She half whispers, half yells in his ear as the excited puppy pulls their owner. closer to them.

Chad sighs at the distraction. He loves dogs but he wishes they could have waited until he had finished proposing to distract Emmy.

Emmy bends down to pet the excited dog as the owner apologizes for his behavior. Chad clears his throat and taps his foot impatiently. He just wants to propose already. He wants to see the look on her face.

The woman and her dog finally leave and Chad is able to complete his mission.

She reaches for her hand but instead of walking with her, he holds his feet to the ground. "What's wrong?" She asks. He pulls her closer and smiles. The moment between them is intense. Neither of them say a word but their eyes remain glued to each other. "Chad?" She asks with a laugh.

"You know I love you right?" He asks rhetorically. Emmy responds with a nod. "And you know how perfect for me you are right?" It is with those words that Emmy realizes what is happening.

She covers her mouth as Chad drops to one knee in the middle of the path in the park. Tears flood to her eyes and a smile forces its way onto her lips.

"Emmy, you complete me. It's like you are my other half. The missing puzzle piece in my life." Emmy smiles at his sweet words. "Not a second goes by where I don't think about you. You drive me crazy, in a good way. And I know this is cliche but I mean it when I say it. You would make me the happiest man alive if you would
marry me."

Emmy is at a loss for words. She wonders if this is really happening. She can't speak.

"Emmy? Please don't say no. I think I might have a heart attack and die if you say no." Chad can feel sweat running down his forehead as he waits for her answer.

"Oh," Emmy laughs. "Yes. One hundred percent. Yes." Emmy smiles as Chad slides the ring on her finger.

She gasps as she looks at the new jewelry on her finger. "My mother gave it to me last night after dinner. It was my grandmother's ring." Chad explains.

"It's beautiful Chad." Emmy throws her arms around her new fiancé. He lifts her and holds her tightly.
