Chapter 17: Unbeatable Rival Part 1

A/N: I really hate that this camera turns my pictures sideways, so now they have to be cropped of taken at different angle.

This is a quick sketch cuz I've been drawing on line paper a lot. I had a new idea for a slightly different story so now I've been experimenting with new character designs.

Anyways, hope you enjoy!

"And Takumi-kun wins this round... So it's a tie... Again..." Ami muttered blandly, sitting on a nearby bench still in her kendo uniform.

"While that's not a shock, (Y/N)-chan usually puts up far more of a fight than this..." Takumi said, removing his helmet. "Is there something wrong?"

I just stared blankly at my bamboo sword, unresponsive.

"(Y/N)-chan! (Y/N)-chan! (Y/N)-chan!" Ami called out, trying to catch my attention. "(Y/N)-CHAN!!"

"...Hmm?" I snap out of my thoughts and look up to see Ami and Takumi staring at me with concern. "Sorry, I was just thinking..."

"Thinking about what?" Takumi asked.

"Well..." I start, removing my own helmet. "Normally I can tell when someone has a crush on me or flirts with me... But I think I'm stumped with this one..."

"Really? Who is it?" Ami asked.

"A 3rd year girl named Raibaru Fumetsu." I answered.

"A girl..." Ami repeated, her mind about to slip into yuri-zuki mode before Takumi lightly smacked her on the head. "...Ow! Sorry, sorry... Go on."

"Well...um, it happened earlier today..." I started, thinking back to when I was still at school.

"No Ayato-kun, gift wrapping a disembodied head and sending it to Taeko-chan does not count as a gift." I explained to the raven haired yandere. "Now stop using yandere Vocaloid songs as a reference and think of a more reasonable gift."

Ayato thinks about for a second before something clicks in his head.

"A knife!" Ayato answers, seemingly proud.

"No!" I quickly shut down. "You can't bring her a knife! She'll think you're insane!"

I let out an irritated sigh. Who the f*ck raised this kid?! I'm real close to stabbing a b*tch. I really need to start getting paid for this...

"This is difficult..." Ayato groaned.

"You're making it difficult." I spat. "You have to keep Taeko-chan's interests in mind. You may like dark and disturbing; but that doesn't mean Taeko-chan does. So no weapons or corpses, not unless you want her to hate you!"

Ayato pouted but seemingly understood.

"Fine..." Ayato agreed.

"Good boy." I responded, patting his head. "How about I teach you how to bake (favorite flavor) cookies? I think she'll enjoy that."

Ayato perked up.

"Okay!" Ayato said, showing a gleam in his normally dull eyes.

At least I managed to finally talk him out of the decapitated head. It makes me wonder what made him think that it would be an ideal gift in the first place... Maybe he really did listen to that Vocaloid song...

All of a sudden, I felt a dangerous presence trying to sneak up behind me.   Assuming the worst - *cough* Megamo *cough* - I quickly darted to the side to avoid attack. In a flash the attacker pounced, only to hit the wall due to my quick movements.

"O-Ow...! As expected of Ai-chan... Your speed is remarkable... Ugh..." A female figure muttered as she hit the ground.

Well at least it's not Megamo...

Now that I'm looking at her properly, she seems familiar.

I mean, I've never met her in person - but she's definitely the formally known Indestructible Rival; Raibaru Fumetsu.

Well people still call her the Indestructible Rival, but 'Indestructible' part isn't exactly true anymore.

"Um... Are you alright?" I asked in my "nice person" tone, offering her my hand.

"Yeah, I'm fine... Thank you." Raibaru replied, taking my hand as I pull her up. "I suppose I got too excited when I saw you. I've been wanting to talk to you for awhile Ai-chan!"

Does she not know my real name, or is this some kind of cruel and unusual punishment? I mean, this could be worse - I don't really mind being called Ai-chan - but I'm really trying not to jinx it.

"You want to talk to me?" I asked. "Do you have a matchmaking request?"

"Nope! This isn't about Miss Matchmaker actually. I just really want to get to know you better!" Raibaru answered. "Also maybe we could become friends!"

First of all, son of a b*tch - I pushed my luck!

Second, you mean someone who I haven't manipulated or is super into anime wants to be friends with me?! WTF?! And like, she doesn't have a matchmaking request?! Am I dreaming?!

"You want to be friends... With me...?" I repeated, trying to confirm what I just heard.

"Yup!" Raibaru confirmed, wide smile on her face. "I just really admire you!"

Where's the hidden camera?

"You do?" I asked, genuinely surprised.

"I course I do! You're always helping others, your kendo skills are amazing - like a real samurai - and you're really cute!" Raibaru answered.

Are we even talking about the same person?!

"You think I'm cute?" I muttered, face slightly blushing.

Is it bad to admit that I have a thing for girls who can kick *ss? And like, Raibaru is certainly a girl who can kick *ss.

"Of course I do! Why wouldn't I? You're gorgeous and strong." Raibaru praised, both hands intertwining with mine. "I just really admire you!"

Kill me. Kill me now.

"So yeah, either she has a crush on me - or she really admires me and I'm just being gay." I said, finishing the story.

"Girl x girl feelings are so confusing in real life..." Ami complained. "Did you know that apparently straight girls can call other girls cute and it's still considered straight?! How am I supposed to know what's supposed to be gay or straight?!"

"Knowing you, anything and everything will be considered gay no matter what." Takumi stated, rolling his eyes.

"Let me dream...!" Ami hissed.

"Right... Anyways..." Takumi said, green eyes locking with my (e/c) eyes. "Why don't you ask Info-kun? He knows who loves who at your school."

"I did, he doesn't know yet either." I answered. "Ugh! This shouldn't be bothering me, but it is!!!"

"Is it bothering you because of that guy who shall not be named*?" Ami asked, semi serious for once.

"Kinda... I mean, Fumetsu-senpai is really pretty and I've always liked girls who can kick ass... But I really don't want to date anyone right now." I explained. "Plus she can do better than a foul mouthed, lying, anime fan like me."

"And if she does have a crush on you; you're afraid that it'll end up being similar to that guy who shall not be named." Takumi continued.

"Yes, exactly! I don't want to date someone that is attracted to the "nice" me they expect me to be!" I went on. "If I date someone, they shouldn't care about my harsh honesty. Most of the other kids at school only like you if you're considered "normal" to them..."

I really hate showing my vulnerability to others, but I trust Ami and Takumi. Despite all our petty remarks at each other, we do have our moments where we share the sh*tty stuff that makes up reality with one another.

"(Y/N)-chan... You can't help that..." Takumi said, sitting down next to me - placing his hand over mine.

"He's right you know." Ami agreed, scooting closer to the other side of me - her fingers gently running through my (h/c) locks. "You shouldn't worry about it so much. If there's anyone that ends up being like that guy who shall not be named, I can take them."

"What are you going to do, complain about how they are normies?" Takumi asked, semi jokingly.

"B*tch. You know I'll do more than that." Ami cursed in a way that helped ease my anxiety.

"You two are dumb*sses." I said, starting to feel a bit more like my confident foul mouthed self again.

"That's fair..." Takumi responded, wrapping his arm around mine as he moved his head closer to mine. "...But I'm afraid that you're stuck with us now."

"Besides you loooove us!" Ami slured, hugging me from the side - chin on my shoulder.

"Eh... I mean sometimes I guess." I teased.

"Liar." Both Ami and Takumi said at same time. "You love us!"

"Yeah sure, you f*cking dorks." I responded, rolling my eyes. "You know, practice is pretty much over now. I can see people going to the locker rooms to change."

"Let's go to my place to binge watch anime and eat ice cream like fat *sses!" Ami suggested.

"You'll just eat all the chocolate ice cream." Takumi said.

"I have cookie dough ice cream as well, don't shame me and my love for chocolate!" Ami shot back.

"Do you have (favorite flavor) ice cream?" I asked.

"Yes, a whole tub full. Like one of the big tubs." Ami answered.

"Count me in, let do it!" I said, standing up.

"I'm gonna regret my life choices in a few hours." Takumi muttered.

Well I mean, he's not entirely wrong. I don't think any of us have self control when it comes to food.

"Well then, shall we regret our life choices together fellow dumb*sses?" I asked, a small smirk on my face.

"Yes, yes we shall." Takumi answered.

"Let's go lesbians!" Ami added.

Yup, a couple of dumb*sses.

To be continued.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) I'm not giving him a name, it's not like he's in the story anyways - I've only mentioned him before and that's it.
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Not even Yandere dev:
Me: So is Raibaru a lesbian? Or maybe bi? I mean technically all the rivals are bi, so why not?
I need to stop, literally 5 seconds after I created a new oc; I made her a lesbian - not even a second thought or a hint of hesitation. I just put my pencil down and went, "She's a gay." I must be stopped before I find a reason to stop drawing guys again.
Alright, I'll stop ranting now...
Till next time!
