Chapter 14: Ramen And Eevee Plushies

A/N: I finished this chapter while doing my Japanese homework... This is fine, it's not I can fall sleep before midnight even if I wanted to...

Also YouTube keeps showing me ads for Captain Marvel and my broke *ss wants to see it - preferably with someone who won't try to leave the theater before the end credits.

Anyways....

Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Normally, I'm a lazy person.
I love food - especially sweets - I love sleeping in, I would prefer spending my time playing videogames, binge watching anime, or drawing while ignoring reality with headphones and my favorite songs.
But not today. Every once in a while I get off my lazy *ss to exercise. Well a bit of extra exercise anyways, possibly getting the upper hand to beat Takumi in our kendo matches and break our constant tie by doing some basic training? I don't really know.
And by basic training, I mean jogging around with headphones, listening to music, until I get hungry or until I get bored.
Honestly, this training is more beneficial for conventions rather than kendo. Four hours standing in the hot sun in cosplay for an anime movie premier is torture but so worth it, even if I lose the ability to walk the next day.
I went jogging around on the sidewalk of the park, cause for once I wanna seem like a normal person, my favorite playlist of songs drowning out the rest of the world. I'll admit, as much as I hate exercise, it does feel like a good change of pace...
...Of course I'm fully expecting to get interrupted somehow at some point. It happens too much for me not to expect something to happen.
After about 45 minutes - a new record - I collapsed on a bench, leaning my head back and closed my eyes for a few seconds.
All of a sudden I felt something cold touch one of my cheeks. I didn't jump, but rather I opened my (e/c) eyes, only to be met a pair of blue eyes.
"Aso-kun...?" I asked, eyes readjusting to the light.
"Hello~!" Aso replied with a smile. "Long time no see!"
It hasn't been that long, at least I don't think so. I haven't been paying too much attention to any dates that don't matter to me, like days I have school.
"You look like you worked hard, water?" Aso continued, holding out a bottle of water.
Most people wouldn't consider what I did "working hard" but I'll take it.
"Thank you." I responded, grabbing the water and twisting the cap open. "What brings you here?"
"I was doing some extra training!" Aso replied as I took a swig of water. "10 mile runs, 300 push ups, 300 sit ups, and some other stuff."
Extra is an understatement. I know a lot of athletes can do 100 push ups like nothing, but geez that's over kill.
Okay, that's mostly my inner lazy *ss talking, but I'm in love with food and sleep too much to take exercising super seriously. This is why I shouldn't be a doctor... Or a health instructor.
"Say, would you like to go to a ramen place with me? I'll pay." Aso brought up suddenly.
Upon hearing that someone else will pay for my fat *ss, I immediately sat up and turned my head in his direction.
"If you insist, sure." I respond with a smile.
That's normal person talk for f*ck yeah.
"Let's go!" Aso said, lifting me from the bench to run to the ramen place...
...Well actually I walked. I don't feel like running anymore, even if I can't feel any pain.
Once we got there, we sat down and looked through the menu. We both got the extra large version of our favorite ramen and dug in.
"That was amazing!" I said, placing down my chopsticks.
I wasn't lying, that tasted f*cking amazing, holy sh*t.
"I know right?! This is the best ramen place in town." Aso claimed.
"Ami-chan, Takumi-kun, and I might have to change our usual ramen place to this." I said.
"Are they friends of yours?" Aso asked.
"Yeah, they're friends of mine from kendo. Though I suppose Takumi-kun and I also consider each other rivals." I answered.
"Oh? So even you have a rival?" Aso asked.
"He's the only person I've ever tied with." I replied. "While I'm not the best at everything I do, I still find it strange how neither one of us can seem to gain the upper hand."
"So you associate with your rival..." Aso said.
"Well it's mostly friendly competition." I responded. "A very competitive friendly competition."
"At least you get along with your rivals... I think I stepped on some of my rivals toes..." Aso muttered.
Well it doesn't help that one of your rivals is an overly obsessed, easily jealous yandere.
"Anyways..." Aso started, changing the subject. "Now how about we go jogging or something?"
Uh, how about we not do that...
"I have a better idea..." I claimed, trying to avoid doing any more exercise before my inner lazy *ss kills me. "Let's go to an arcade!"
"An arcade?" Aso asked.
"Yeah! I know of a good place." I claimed, standing up. "Follow me!"
The two of us left the ramen place, Aso following me to the arcade.
"Here we are!" I said, waving a hand underneath the sign. "It's not the biggest arcade, but there are days were you can play for free - today being one of those days."
"Huh, really?" Aso asked. "I don't play videogames often..."
"Yup! I've been here plenty of times with an old friend of mine." I said. "And don't worry about your skill. I may be super competitive, but you can just have fun with it."
That's not gonna stop me from being hella competitive though.
"Alright then!" Also replied, now smiling. "Let's give it a go!"
An optimist, that boy...
....What a f*cking dork.
We both entered the arcade and immediately started playing some games. We started with the classic fighting games (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, etc.). Aso wasn't as bad as he made himself out to be - he wasn't good, but he did okay.
We did some first person shooter games - the ones were you hold a fake gun. Aso died a ton of times, though I was too focused on the screen to count the exact amount of times that he died.
We did a few rhythm games and a dancing game - okay only Aso did that last one cause I was too lazy to do anymore physical exercise. Aso was actually pretty good at that one.
As of right now, we were walking around the claw machine* area. I was looking around for some good prizes to try to win. If I'm lucky, they'll have a full sized figurine. I have to put any figurines I get in a glass display case, cause I love Kuroi and all; but she likes to climb on top of things and let's just say that it's a miracle that none of my books have been knocked over yet.
I went around trying a few claw machines; wining another full sized (favorite anime character) figurine, a chibi plush of Ouma, and some (a crap ton of) (favorite flavor) ice cream (cause I'm a f*cking fat *ss). Aso was kinda just watching me the whole time.
Then we passed by that claw machine. I know cause it still held that one prize that I really want; but this is usually the one claw machine I have zero luck with.
...Of course that's never stopped my stubborn *ss from trying.
I practically ran over to the claw machine, both hands pressed up against the glass.
"It's still there..." I muttered, my nose almost touching the glass, (e/c) eyes starring intensely. "...In all its Glory..."
"What's still here?" Aso asked, confused.
"This...!" I answered, now pointing at the desired object. "The shiny Eevee plushie! They don't sell this at the Pokemon center, at least, not yet*."
"I guess you really want it..." Aso replied.
More like obsess over it, but yeah.
"Yeah... But the tail is stuck under one of the plushies and it barely budges for some reason." I explained. "I mean it's probably not impossible to get, but it's not exactly easy to get."
"I can try!" Aso suddenly said out of nowhere.
"Really?" I asked, slightly tilting my head to the side.
"Yeah!" Aso replied, wide smile on his face as stretched out his arms. "I'm going to give it my all!"
All this optimism hurts my soul.... It's too bright...
Aso placed his hands over the controls, starting up the claw machine.
This is probably the most quiet I've seen him today, not even when he was watching me earlier was he this quiet.
Aso moved the claw slightly to the side of the shiny Eevee plushie, about to press the button.
Wait, he's not doing what I think he's going to do is he?
He then pressed the button, the claw grabbing onto the plastic tag.
Holy sh*t! He is!
The claw manages to lift the once stuck shiny Eevee from the pile of plush toys... It even somehow manages to get a normal Eevee along with it!
I try not to let my jaw as both plushies drop into the slot. WTF?! I constantly have sh*t luck with this one stupid claw machine, and then this total noob manages to get it on the first try?! And he got two by the f*cking tag!!!! What the flying f*ck!?! When was Aso possessed with Komaeda's Ultimate bullsh*t powers?!
I'm good. Really. I'm good. This is okay.
"Look (Y/N)-chan! I got it! I even got another one!" Aso cheered excitedly, a super bright smile spread across his face, both plushies in his arms.
Too bright!!! It's too much!!! I can't take it!!!
"That's amazing!" I replied. "How did you manage to pull off the tag technique?!"
"The what technique?" Aso asked, clearly confused.
Somehow I managed to keep my eye from twitching.
Excuse me... I'm gonna need another minute.
"The tag technique*." I start to explain. "Where you grab the prize by its tag. It's not an easy technique to pull off."
"Wait really?!" Aso said surprised before smiling. "Maybe I should play videogames more often!"
What a optimistic dork.
"Oh, that's right!" Aso said, holding out the shiny Eevee plushie towards me. "This is for you!"
"Um, thank you..." I said, being genuine for once. "What do you plan on doing with the other one?"
"I think I'll keep it!" Aso answered with a smile. "A token of today."
Yup, a total dork.
Though hanging out with Aso wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...
...Probably because of the free food but that's besides the point. If I wanted to get free food, I could just go to Ami or Info-kun.
"Say Aso-kun..." I said, hugging the shiny Eevee plushie in my arms.
"Huh, what is it?" Aso asked.
"How about we do this again sometime?" I asked.
Put your holy water down, I know what I said.
Aso thought about it for a few seconds before smiling brightly.
"Sure, let's do this again sometime!" Aso agreed happily.
Still too bright...
Yeah I know what I just did. And you know what? F*ck it! I'm in for the ride until the whole thing explodes.
So come at me universe! I'm f*cking ready for you!
To be continued.
1) Japanese claw machines have f*cking everything in them. Have you seen those things?! Like "Let's just put a $50 figurine in a claw machine! And while we're at it, f*cking Ice cream!" Should I be concerned with what they put next?
2) I've never actually been to the Pokemon Center before, seeing as how I've never even been to Japan. But I watched this one anime YouTuber post a video of him visiting the Pokemon Center. So many Eevees... I want to go there.... Oh, and I'm not sure if they actually have any shiny Pokemon plushies so yeah.
3) I saw it in an anime. I don't actually know if that's a legit technique, but you must use witchcraft to pull that off.
Technically I was writing three different chapters at once, but since I kept jumping around from chapter to chapter only this one is finished - the other two are still a work in progress.
Now to change the subject:
Quick question for the Danganronpa fans and the Miraculous Ladybug fans. If I were to write a Danganronpa x Miraculous Ladybug crossover (reader insert of course), would you prefer I made as:
1) A non despair au where all the characters are from Danganronpa, the reader is ladybug and Komaeda is Chat Noir.
I did a poll regarding that on amino, it doesn't really surprise me that Nagito won.
Or
2) Where it's after the events of Danganronpa V3 and the survivors move to Paris. The reader is one of the survivors and she gets a miraculous. This one will have a bit of a reverse harem (does it still count as a reverse harem if there are some girls in said harem?). Though I'm not entirely sure on who to put in the reverse harem yet.
Just curious. I'm not publishing any new books anytime soon but I really want to do a fanfic on both of these and I have a couple ideas for a crossover fanfic.
Anyways, back to homework - until the next update!
