Chapter 1: The first step
There she is...
...Taeko Yamada.
Well she wasn't that hard to find, she was at the water fountain in the center of the school, reading a book like always.
Well time to make a first impression...
As Taeko stood up and started walking away, I "accidentally" tripped in front of her. Taeko immediately stopped walking and ran up to me.
"Are you alright? Let me help you!" Taeko said, extending her hand to help me.
"Thanks, I'm alright." I said, grabbing her hand.
I can't believe she fell for that! Well at least she bothered to help me up. She could have been a complete *ss and ignored me.
"That's good." Taeko said. "My name is Taeko Yamada from class 3-2. What's you're name?"
"I'm (Y/N) (L/N) from class 2-1. Nice to meet you Yamada-senpai." I said with a fake smile.
"Please just call me Taeko-chan!" Taeko said. "Say, aren't you Miss Matchmaker Ai-chan?"
Why can't I talk to ONE person at this school without that getting brought up?!
"That's just what people started calling me. Please just call me (Y/N)-chan." I said, trying to hide my irritation. "Let's be friends!"
No seriously, if I have to be addressed as Miss Matchmaker all the time I'm going to go around stabbing things with my katana. I'm okay with being called Ai-chan but not all the time.
"Alright! I don't have many female friends!" Taeko said.
(Sarcastic tone) Gee...I wonder why...?
Taeko and I exchanged phone numbers before going to our classes. As soon as I sat at my desk Ayato walked up to me.
"How's you're progress so far?" Ayato asked.
I just started and he already expects me to make some progress?! It's not like I have a love potion or something.
"I got Taeko-chan's phone number." I said as I dug through my bag for my sketchbook.
Ayato's eyes widened and he brought his face close to mine.
"Y-You did?! Can you give me her number?!" Ayato asked.
I gently push his face away from mine, wanting my personal space.
"I can, but you can't text or call her right away." I said.
"Why not?" Ayato asked.
"You never spoken to her before right?" I asked.
Ayato nodded.
"Then it would seem weird if she gets a call or text from you." I said. "I managed to befriend her. So after you guys talk to each other you can say I gave you her number and it wouldn't seem weird."
"Oh... I see." Ayato said.
Just then the teacher walked into the classroom. Ayato rushed to his seat before the teacher started the lesson.
I didn't feel like paying attention since the subject that was being taught was pretty much review to me. I just drew in my sketchbook the entire time.
As soon as it was lunch time I grabbed my bento and disappeared from the other student's eyes. I then proceeded to make my way to a certain club room. With no one around, I walked inside the club room.
What club was it, you ask?
Well the Info club of course.
"I see that you got yourself another request, Ai-chan." Info-kun said, turning his head in my direction.
"Of course you would already know about it, Info-kun." I said.
I sat on his desk away from his computers with my legs crossed and my bento in my lap.
"So what's the deal with my current requester?" I asked, opening my bento. "You want some onigiri?"
"Yes." Info-kun said as I handed him some onigiri. "Ayato Aishi isn't a normal student, he's a Yandere."
"A Yandere huh?" I said, eating a piece of pork cutlet. "I'm surprised that he asked for my help then, especially considering how many people have a crush on Taeko-chan."
"You can thank the rumors and me for that." Info-kun said. "Ayato-kun heard the rumors about how everyone Miss Matchmaker Ai-chan has helped has gotten together with their crushes. He gave me a certain payment and I gave him the information he wanted. Don't worry, I didn't give away anything that can be used against you."
Ah, the benefits of personally knowing Info-kun for years. I also know what his real name is but that's a secret, he prefers being called Info-kun anyways.
"Now you got people doing the dirty work. You know you already have a low reputation, selling panty shots shows people you're pervertedness." I said.
"I just sell them for money. You'd be surprised how many people will pay for just one." Info-kun said.
"Those desperate perverts..." I muttered as I took another bite of pork cutlet.
"Considering how you really act I'm surprised that you haven't snapped at everyone that annoys you yet." Info-kun said.
"I'm not a b*tch, I just seem like one if were ever truly 100% honest." I said.
"I know." Info-kun said. "Good luck with Ayato-kun."
"I'm gonna need it." I said. "I'm just surprised that he's the only one that's asked me to matchmake them with Taeko-chan."
"It was probably because their strange personalities." Info said, looking at the time. "Class is going to start soon. You should leave now before anyone catches you."
I got off the desk and wrapped up my bento.
"Alright, see ya! Text me a list of Ayato-kun's rivals later!" I said as I left the info club room.
I walked into the classroom, passing by Ayato's desk.
"Meet me at the rooftop after school." I quietly said to him before going to my desk.
After another long and boring class lecture, school had finally ended. I walked up to the rooftop and sat on a bench, waiting for Ayato. Shortly after Ayato showed up.
"What is it that you need to talk about?" Ayato asked.
"Well for starters, in order for you to become Taeko-chan's boyfriend you have to hang out with her." I said.
"But every time I get close to her I get flustered and I can't speak." Ayato said.
Oh boy, he's a stalker kind of yandere...
"Well Taeko-chan is really popular and I'm sure that everyone else that has a crush on her has a least spoken to her once." I said, noticing Ayato's face go dark. "In order to have a better chance with her you have to be more than two students who happen to go to the same school. You have break through you're fear of talking to her and spend time with her!"
"How do I do that?" Ayato asked.
"Why do you think I befriended her?" I said as I stood up from the bench and pulled out my cell phone. "I'm going to put the friend card to good use. You're not busy tomorrow right?"
Ayato shook his head.
"Good." I said as I called Taeko's number. "Hello, Taeko-chan? It's me, (Y/N)-chan."
"(Y/N)-chan? Do you need something?" Taeko asked.
"Well, a friend and I were going to see a movie tomorrow and I wondering if you would like to come with us?" I asked, using a friendly tone, not a fake friendly tone of course.
"Really? Okay! I'll see you tomorrow!" Taeko said.
"Yeah! See you tomorrow!" I said before ending the call. "Phase one is complete. You now have a kinda date with Taeko-chan!"
"Kinda date?" Ayato asked.
"It's not an official date but we're going to use this as a way for the two of you to get closer." I explained. "I'll be there too but that's just to help you out."
After finishing up with the explanation of the plan, Ayato and I parted ways. I had my kendo lessons a little later today so I read some manga when I got to the training dojo.
I'm getting a yandere together with his crush, huh?
Well then I hope this will at least be a little interesting...
To be continued.
