Chapter 3: Happy To See Someone
I hurried through the mall walkway, in desperate need of using a restroom. I had only been to this mall once when one was very little, and it had been remodeled since then, so I had no clue where the bathrooms were. I just really had to use one.
Finally giving up, I walked into Forever Young to ask someone where they were. There were few but some shoppers in the outlet. Most were huddled around the jewelry table, trying to get in on the seventy-five percent off sale. I walked to the back of the store up to the cashier.
Just my luck. It was a guy and no one else was around. But I really needed to go. When you gotta go, you gotta go. I walked up to him trying to act casual. He was like in his twenties, he had brown hair and dark, blue eyes. He did have a ring on his finger so I hoped it meant he was married, maybe he would understand.
I awkwardly smiled at him, failing at being casual. "Hi, um- I can't find the restrooms, do you think you could point me in the right direction?" I said scratching my head nervously.
He gave me an understanding smile.
"Go out into the walkway and turn left, keep walking to you reach the dining area and the bathrooms are going to be in the very back." He pointed his finger in the direction.
"Thank you so much!" I said emphasizing more than I should have.
He just chuckled. "Your welcome." Not wasting any more time I darted out into the walkway,
dodging people as I rushed.
I had finally made it to cafeteria of the mall. There were hundreds of tables for peop to sit at. And at least a dozen restaurants for people to choose from. I followed the directions the guy had given me and eventually found the bathrooms in a secluded hallway at the back one side led to the men's one to the ladies. I immediately walked into the ladies, thankful no one was in here.
Two minutes later I stood in front of the big mirror, doing what ever girl does. Checking herself out, more like making sure I don't look stupid. I put my hood back on and my phone in my pocket, walking back out.
I bumped into a person not looking where I was going. I looked up at the person I collided with. It was a bigger looking dude who was about six inches taller than me. (Cause I'm short...)
"I'm sorry," I immediately said, starting to walk on, but he grabbed my arm. I became terrified of this, only seeing this in movies and stuff. I looked back at him, pulling my arm towards me. He wouldn't let go. "Please, sir. Let go of me." I tried to say as calmly as possible. My eyes began to water.
"But you bumped into me. Why would I let a pretty girl like you go?" He asked for like a statement.
"Please let go." I pleaded again. "Or I will call the cops." I tried to sound threatening. I slowly reached into my pocket remembering my pocket knife. I pulled it out, opening it with out him seeing.
"You-" I interrupted his sentence when I stabbed him in the arm. He yelped in pain making his arms let go. I took this moment and ran as fast as I could. Dialing 9-1-1 as I ran.
"This is Yorktown county police, what's your emergency?" The lady operator asked.
"Please help-" I stopped when I saw two more guys standing in front of me as I skidded to a stop.
"Ma'am?" She asked. My phone still in my hand. They grabbed me, I screamed at the top of my lungs. My phone dropping in the process.
"No!" I screamed reaching my hand out for my phone trying to fight their strength. Tears were running down my face as I kicked and hollered. I could hear the operator wanting to know what was going on. I barely heard her say the police were on the way.
"Hey!" I heard someone yell, that was in front of me. The men stopped and turned to the voice, I was still struggling in their grasp. I stopped when I saw who it was. Cody! I had never been so happy to see someone in my life. "Let her go! The cops are on the way!"
The men looked at each other and laughed.
"Cody!" I yelled. Fighting and pushing as hard as I could. One of the guys let go of me and went up to start fighting Cody. The other guy held me back. I used my other hand trying to undo his grip on my hand. "Let. Go. Of. Me!"
I looked back at Cody who was on the ground wrestling him. He dodged the punches the guy threw at him.
"Every one put your hands up!" A deep voice yelled. Everyone stopped and looked towards the opening of the hallway. It was three police officers with guns. I felt his grip on me lessen as he slowly put his hands up. I put mine up too. The other guy got up off of Cody and raised his hands in the air.
One of the officers started walking towards the guy next to me, throwing him against the wall and cuffing him. The other policemen nailed the other guy to the wall, cuffing him.
The lady police officer walked up to me smiling. My hands shaking and my legs weak.
"Are you the one who called?" She said calmly.
"Y-yess..." I said my voice cracking from the adrenaline rush. The officer who arrested the first guy. Threw Cody into the wall. I pushed passed the officer in front of me.
"Hey!" Cody said as his hands were put behind his back.
"Stop!" I said walking up to the cop. "He's with me! Please don't arrest him!" I pleaded. The officer looked from me to Cody, then to the lady behind me. She nodded and he let him go.
And cliffhanger! Hey sorry for the late update still getting use to the while schedule thing. Vote and comment let me know what you guys think!!
