It was like everything was going in slow motion. My breathing was getting heavy and slow, in contrast with my fast beating heart. I took in the fast-pacing actions going on around me.

This was war.

Azure looked like he had more experience than me which was true. He slapped Drake with his huge claw and the man was sent rolling on the rocky floor towards the entrance of the narrow pathway between the lava falls.

The mutant guard dog growled once more and charged ahead towards Drake who was standing up with unequal balance, probably still dizzy. Drake's face twisted into annoyance as he jumped, his body inverted as he stood on his hands on top of Azure's head and flipped the mutant being by holding one of his spikes and throwing him into the lava.

How strong was he?!

"Ark, Azure!" I panicked.

Ark smiled at me calmly. "Don't worry, Azure has wings. He's part dragon, remember?" Azure rose and flew around the area. The fluttering of his wings was causing massive winds.

"Azure, pagósei tis ptóseis ! (Freeze the falls!)" Ark shouted. Azure flew towards the lava falls and blew his snowy breath causing the start of the red boiling lava's blackening and freezing.

"Let's go Luka!" Ark urged. He suddenly grasped my hands and fire erupted making me wince from the burning sensation.

"It's party time!" Cerberus cheered and flame burst into my other hand. Ark let go of my hand and charged ahead. I could see Drake smirk as he let Ark charge towards him.

"What are you waiting for, Rihanna's Work song? Get your ass moving boy!" Cerberus yelled. I grunted and followed Ark.

My mate was the first one to attack by swinging his leg to kick Drake's head. Drake bent down and dodged it and in return he attempted to get Ark out of balance by swinging his feet in a 180 degree angle on the floor. Ark jumped in time and started using his ability.

Sharp popsicles began to pierce the floor and the two didn't stop throwing fast punches and kicks. I jumped in midair, my body reversing in line with Drake's head. I attempted to slam my flaming fist against his skull only for him to grab my hand and throw me to Ark. My mate caught me and we both fell to the ground.

"Your ass is so useless!" Cerberus spat.

I gritted my teeth. I fucking know that! I immediately got on my feet and gave my own punches and kicks to Drake. The motherfucker continued to dodge everything, his smile was getting devious. I fucking hate him with passion.

"I can't believe that you are the person married to Alaster. You are weak," he stated, making me further enraged.

I was about to make my comeback but then Drake was suddenly raised in midair. Sciath was standing behind him, looking pissed. He looked like he had his fair share of battle and the war only started.

"You're as annoying as your beta," Sciath commented in his famous deadpan face.

I don't know if he was referring to Drake and his beta or me and Kade. Fiery wolves started to form around us. Ark and I started to fight them off. I snapped the head of one wolf and then rammed my knuckles on the other one, breaking its skull in the process. Two wolves charged in either side of me and I bent down for them to bite each other instead of me.

Fucking idiots...

Fuck, Thank God for Ark's training.

"Let's switch places later," Cerberus said. "

Okay, that's when I get fully drained."

"Don't let your guard down Luka," Ark reminded. He looked serious now as he fought with Fiery wolves graciously without sweat making it appear that he fought with wolves like these everyday with his eyes closed. Drake grunted.

"Fucking brat! Diego, come here and handle this midget!" he shouted. "Your beta is already frozen..." Sciath muttered and then his eyes widened like he just realized something. He began to slam Drake's body on the floor harshly, his face was pissed. "I was supposed to watch Frozen for today!" he screamed.

"That's so cute!" Cerberus cooed.

A blast of green ball of electricity zapped Sciath making the kid fall unconscious on the ground. I heard witches laugh and fly above us. Kade's voice sounded when he called Sciath's name and a black wolf jumped to sink its teeth on the now fear-struck witch.

The wolf was my beta. I wasted no time for Drake to recover. Thank God Sciath had his tantrums. I kicked Drake's body and placed each of my legs on each of his sides. I slammed my burning fist on his face, pouring my anger on every punch. A fiery soldier was running towards me with a spear but an icicle pierced from the floor and impaled him from the back. I looked to my side and found Ark, with his eyes glowing blue.

"You will never win this war!" A red wolf growled.

He jumped, ready to snap me with his teeth only to be taken down by my beta. It looked like he was done ripping the witches to pieces. Azure landed beside Ark and helped us fight the witches and the wolves. I could see blood everywhere and I could hear the grunts, screams and clashing of spears. My father was fighting the King of the Fiery pack together with the King of Glacier pack and it seemed that they were winning.

This was easier than I thought...

My eyes widened when I felt my body engulfed in fire. Drake's devilish laugh filled my ears as I felt the most painful fire surrounding my body. Ark screamed my name as I rolled on the floor. I watched my skin turning black.

This was Drake's fire...

Why was I not absorbing it?

"Shit, the strength of his fire is too strong!" Cerberus shouted.

I stood up and felt my body freezing from feet to head. My vision slightly blurred from the ice but I felt relief. "You okay kid?"

"I feel completely roasted..." Drake's fire was strong alright. Ark was right.

"Well I hope your dick is still functional. We need more pups!"

"Seriously, I was almost burned to death and what concerns you now is if my dick can still work?" Shit my skin felt so painful.

"Hang on kid, I'll heal you." The pain was getting numbed by the ice and with the help of Cerberus' healing; I was feeling less of being roasted beef tenderloin. It was really getting cold. When was Ark going to unfreeze me? A figure jumped above me and an incoming fireball hit the ice that contained me. I felt a mixture of heat and cold, my body absorbing the energy. I need to know what was happening. Fireballs continued to hit the ice I was in and I could always see a figure jumping over and using me as a shield to these fireballs.

Were these people just going to leave me frozen for the rest of the war? A blast of yellow light blinded me for a second and my surroundings consisted of orange, like there were flames everywhere. What the hell?

"Shit, are we in hell? Fuck, this is your fault you sinful creature! Now I'll never get to see our mate!" Cerberus protested.

"Alpha, are you okay?" Kade linked me.

"What the fuck is happening out there?!" I questioned, ignoring Cerberus' whining.

"Your dad and the Glacier King killed the Fiery pack King. Drake has gone berserk and formed this firewall. Azure is unconscious, he's been badly hit by the impact of the firewall."

"Where's Ark? How's Ark?" There was silence in the link making me drown in worry.

"He's in there with you. You two are in the firewall in which Drake made." My mate was fighting alone...Why won't he unfreeze me? I can feel the impact of the fireballs getting stronger as they hit me. The person who was constantly using me as a shield was Ark. I linked Ark since he was just in the same area as me and tried to get his response.

"Ark...Ark let me help! What's happening?"

I heard Ark grunt from the link."Wait. Let your gauge fill Luka," he said to me. He looked like he was having a hard time fighting.

Gauge...So he froze me so I can absorb Drake's fire.

"Let me fight next kid, let me fight-" Cerberus' sentence was cut short when we felt the severe pain in our hearts and then followed by a void of emotion that made us both feel like we just lost something.

The pain was so severe...the pain was greater than Drake's fire. My eyes started to wet with tears...What was this feeling? Why do I feel like I've lost something or...someone? Cerberus started to growl and wreck inside of my mind.

"MY SON!" he growled.

Son... I lost...a son? My wolf started to take over the physical appearance. I was too shocked to contradict the transformation. The ice started to crack until it completely shattered. Cerberus roared. I saw Ark raised up in midair by Drake who had a tear-struck face. There in his other hand, he was holding something small, something green but in the more dull color of green. Ark's abdomen was bleeding and I just stared at the green smooth pebble-like object in Drake's hand.

"A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye!" Drake growled. My mate's eyes were filled with tears and pain.

"I will gauge all of your teeth and all of your eyes you motherfucker! I'm going to kill you!" Cerberus growled. I can feel my wolf's pain, my mate's pain, and my own pain...

This was the agony of losing a child... A burst of fire grew on Cerberus' body. Drake threw Ark to the side like a broken doll and my mate just lied there with a blank expression. Drake's wolf began to conquer the physical form. His fur was bright red. Cerberus opened his mouth to the half transformed Drake and sank his teeth on the wolf's neck. The red wolf growled and tried to shake us off.

If Cerberus was still in his silly self...he could have sang "Shake it off" by Taylor swift but his angry grunts just proved that we were all in pain. I attempted to connect with my mate and close my eyes.

"Ark..." I said. "Ark, talk to me, please..." I begged.

I know he was in pain. Among us all, he and Icius were the ones who were most in pain. He was carrying our pups...he was the one who first created a bond with them and shared their warmth... I want to be there by his side and comfort him.

"Ark, we'll make him pay. Just please hang on...hang on for our remaining pups and for me. I love you so much baby, I love you and our pups so much..." I whispered.

I wiped my tears and clenched my fist. I opened my eyes, filled with so much resolve to kill this monster. This monster that took away my unborn child... Drake's wolf howled in pain as Cerberus' teeth sank further in his throat. The wolf released fire but Cerberus stayed in place and endured the severe pain.

"Cerberus!" I shouted. My wolf was taking too much damage and his own body was already burning to the extent that his fur was burned to crisp.

"I'm going to kill him! I'm going to avenge our pup!" he growled angrily. His voice had tremor in it. I can feel his rage. The tears of anger and sadness started to flow out of my eyes.

"Cerberus, let's switch, your body-"

"I can do it, I'll kill him!" Cerberus persisted.

He was so blinded with anger. Drake's wolf swung Cerberus' body and my wolf was sent flying just in front of our mate. Cerberus' whimper made me ache. The red wolf laughed, his neck was bleeding but he still looked like he could last for hours. "How does it feel black wolf? How does it feel to lose a kid? It must be painful. I hope you can accept my sympathy but sadly I don't even have one," he laughed.

My breathing was starting to get heavy. I FUCKING HATE HIM! I took over the physical form, my actions being influenced with wrath. I screamed in agony not because of the pain in the transformation but because of what this motherfucker did to my family.

My naked body rose from the ground. I froze Ark in ice and released the flames of fury that were stored inside of me. My tears did not stop as the flames became hotter and bigger. My body was beginning to get burned as well but I didn't care, I wanted release, I wanted revenge and I want Drake to die!

"What is this? What are you?!" the wolf shouted in fear. "It hurts! Make it stop!"

As I glared at this wolf I remembered...

I remembered the dead bead in Drake's hands...

I remembered Ark's defeated face...

I remembered Cerberus' burnt body...

You ask what is this?

This is...

This is...

"REVENGE!" I growled.

My own voice was accompanied by Cerberus' own.The flames of my anger burst through the firewall that Drake made and burned him to death. Even after his death, I didn't know when to stop...the gauge never seemed to go empty. I can see everyone evacuating the volcano as I continue to release flame. Drake's defeat didn't numb this emotional pain I was feeling...

"It hurts..." I whispered. "It hurts Ark..." Cerberus was silent; it seemed that he was unconscious. I can't unfreeze Ark, he'll get burned. I guess I was alone in this...

Will I...will I also burn myself to death?

Was this the end?

I won't even live to see my kids... "

Ark...I love you...Take care of our pups...You are the goddess' greatest gift," I linked him.

I closed my eyes and remembered every good memory of Ark starting from him being a puppy. I laughed when I remembered his deadly fart in class. His message in the crossword puzzle gave me hope and even if Ark was still a puppy, he can still express his feelings towards me. I think...this experience with Ark that the goddess gave me was the best thing that could happen for a wolf's life.

"I love you Ark...and I guess this is goodbye."

"It's too early to say goodbye don't you think?" I heard an unfamiliar voice say.

A body emerged from the ground, leveling to my height. He had brown hair and golden piercing eyes. He had an aura of...of something so shiver-worthy despite my situation. He looked unharmed from all the flames I was producing and his clothes were already burnt.

The man smiled at me warmly. "Let me carry that heavy burden child...Live longer and see your children grow." He placed his hands on my shoulder and all the flames began to stick to him like a magnet.

He started absorbing the gauge and even the fire around us. I couldn't see him anymore with the fire covering him. He let go of me and I landed on the ground. My feet couldn't carry me anymore as I fell down completely. My eyes focused on the burning figure as I began to lose consciousness.

A blue wolf appeared in my vision. He was standing just in front of my head. "I-Icius?" I weakly called and used all of my power to raise my arms up.

Icius placed his nose against my own. "We love you too Luka...You did good love."

I smiled from the presence of Icius. I let my hands fall from his cold body and close my eyes.

It was finally...over.
