"I don't understand. How can Beth have magic?" Ashton blurted.

"Well, obviously you don't because you know nothing about this kingdom, do you?" his mother asked. Ash shook his head. "Do you even know how our kingdom started? How magic started?" she asked.

"No." Bethany and Ashton answered at the same time.

"I will tell you then. It all started with a young man. The young man had magical powers. He could create food and water out of thin air. The peasants adored him so much because he would feed them food and give them clean water. So, the people elected him to be the first king of Amoura. The king marries a beautiful woman. Then, they learn that they are going to have a child. A baby girl. And the king and queen wanted their daughter to have magic too. Of course, they didn't know how magic worked back then. So, they tried to create a potion to give their daughter magic powers. The potion was perfect! It would work perfectly! But, before their daughter was born, a man killed the king. The queen was so sad that she smashed the potion against the wall. Little did she know that particles of the potion went into the river the peasants drank out of. So, all of the peasants now had magic powers. The queen then had the child. And with no magic, the queen was scared they would get overpowered. So, she banished every peasant with magic to an island. No one near the castle had used magic ever since." Ashton's mother ended.

"So, how does Bethany have powers?" Ashton asked concerned.

"Power can be transported in two different ways. The first way is from some sort of freak accident or potion. The second way is if you truly love someone with powers and they truly love you too." the lady explained. Ashton looked at Beth but she avoided eye contact with him.

"So, what do you want with me? I didn't even know I had powers! What makes you think I can use them?" Bethany asked. Ashton stood behind her supportingly.

"Exactly! That's why you should give me your powers!" Viviana blurted out.

"So let me get this straight. You capture your own son. Then, barely acknowledge his existence. Now you're holding us hostage until you get my powers!" Beth yelled. Ash silently prayed that this would stop.

"What are you talking about? I love my son! I've been looking for him for years!" Viviana explained.

"Oh! How ironic it is that you 'found him' right when you found something he could get you too. Well, let me tell you something. Ashton is better off without you. Look, I have no business telling you how to live your life. But, I sure as hell know that if you step a foot near me or Ashton, you'll be sorry. You've hurt him enough and I will not let you hurt him anymore. So, what you are going to do is this. You are going to let us go." Bethany demanded.

"You can't threaten me, little girl! You have no idea what I am capable of. And don't you dare going running to the sheriff about this. Don't forget, sweetie, Ash and I don't exist. That means that you're crazy. You wouldn't want the entire kingdom to think you are crazy, do you?" Viviana threatened. Beth sighed. Ash couldn't stand it any longer "You can't move to Manaville and marry a man when everyone thinks you're crazy!"

"How do you know that?" Both asked.

"You're going to Manaville?" Ash gasped. "I thought you said you'd never leave!"

"Well, my baby, you could have easily seen that coming. You know with the powers you have but can't control or possibly your limited amount of common sense! You see, baby, the poor girl needs to leave this crazy little island." Ashton's mother snorted. Ashton stopped for a minute. He was angry. He was angry at his mom, himself, Dean, and Beth, Everyone. Anger was everywhere.

"Don't call me that! I'm not your baby!! Let us go!" Ash screamed impatiently. He couldn't take it anymore. He struggled to get himself free from the ropes once more.

Bethany was starting to get angry now. This was getting out of control. All she wanted to was knock Viviana to the floor. And then it happened! Viviana crashed to the ground. Ashton pulled Bethany out of the cottage. They were safe now. Finally.
