|| Prologue ||

"Larkynn, get up! You're going to be late for work, again!" a man with sandy brown eyes and blond hair pulled up in a pony yells from the hall, his voice muffled by the door between him and the eleven-year old girl asleep in the room.

Opening her eyes a little bit, she squints at the clock on the wall.

'Oh, there's only ten minutes left!' she realizes and jumps out of the bed only to fall down, her feet tangled in her blanket.

Hearing the thud, the man says, "What was that? Larkynn?"

"Nothing!" she responds, struggling to get out of the blankets. When it doesn't work, she sighs in frustration and gets up and walks to the bathroom, managing to peel off the blanket on the way.

After quickly showering and getting dressed, she exits and is about to give cheetahs a run for their money when the man stops her.

"Larkynn, letter for you!" he says, tossing an envelope at her.

Catching it and stuffing it in her pocket, she thanks him and runs to her place of work, making it just on time. The bells chime when she opens the door and walks in.

"On time." a stout man in his late twenties tells her, shaking his head in marvel.

Smiling, she makes her way to the counter, donning her cap that marked her as an employee of 'Sparring Supplies'. Sparring Supplies is one of the staunchest additions to Diagon Alley, having popped up a mere five months after the Wizarding War.

Having worked here for three years, the girl appears quite adept at handling the numerous customers and orders, even managing to sail through the occasional wand shoppers.

"Larkynn, I don't know how you make it here on time every single day. Gary said you always wake up only ten minutes before now..." Karl Reuben, the store owner, asks the girl.

"I usually need only that much time to get ready, so I don't see why I have to wake up earlier."

"Larkynn loves her sleep!"

"Reuben, don't baby me- I'm eleven, not three!"

"But you're three in terms of how long you've worked here!" he says, still talking in the baby voice he used earlier.

"Okay papa." she says, maintaining a baby face, her green eyes not unlike bright puppy eyes, if they ever were green.

"Well, get to work then!"

At one point during the work day, when there is only one customer who's only chatting with her, she remembers the envelope she received from Gary and opens it.

"New letter, Ella?"

She wrinkles her nose in distaste as she answers, "Don't call me Ella."

"Okay, Fenella!"

"That's right!" she snorts.

Fenella takes out the piece of paper in it and skims the sheet, her eyes widening as she reads.

"Sweetie, what's that?" the only other person in the room asks, concern lacing her voice at the shocked expression on the girl's face.

"Take a look!" she says and shoves the letter in the woman's hand, an incredulous smile spreading over her face.

"About time you got this! I was beginning to think you were lying about your age," she speaks coyly.

"I completely agree! Well, to the first statement, not the blasphemous second one," Fenella squeals, the woman laughing at her excited reaction.

Reuben rushes in, eager to see what all of the noise is.

"What's going on?" he says, looking at the woman and then at his youngest employee. Noticing Fenella's visible excitement, he lifts an eyebrow. He turns to the woman for an explanation, who points back at Fenella, who answers.

"I've been accepted to Hogwarts!"

Let's be honest, how many of us want that moment (to be accepted to Hogwarts)? I know I do!

The first chapter will be here by, at the most, next Monday.
