Chapter 4
"Hi, I'm so sorry but could we sit here?"
Sirius looked up from staring at Remus' odd sitting position to see a girl with long red hair and a boy with greasy black hair hanging around his face standing in the doorway to their compartment.
"There's not much room but sure."
Remus looked to the side and budged up closer to the window. "Or do I need to move to one side?" He asked, lifting his head off the head-rest at the top of the train seats.
"I don't think you nee-"
"Yes." The boy with dark hair cut across his friend, glaring at Remus. "You need to move."
"Severus, don't be mean." The girl hissed.
"Okay. I'm fine with moving anyway. Just let me get a book." Remus said, kneeling up on the seat to reach his bag. "How much longer until we get to Hogwarts? Just so I know how long my book needs to be."
"Hour? Maybe two?" Sirius hedged a guess.
"Okay." Remus managed to pull a book out of the mess of his suitcase before closing it and standing up. The train jerked around a bend and Remus lost his balance, falling next to Sirius, practically on him. "Oh Merlin, I'm so, so sorry." He apologised quickly, moving off of Sirius.
"It's fine." Sirius muttered, sure his face was pink. The boy - Severus - behind the girl with red hair snickered.
"Don't believe we got your name, Princess." James said, grinning at the girl as she stumbled into the compartment and sat down by the window.
"Lily Evans." She said shortly, clearly not impressed with James' nickname for her. Severus flung himself down next to the window, in Remus' old seat, and propped his chin up on his hand, staring out the window. James glanced at Sirius and he knew that they both had an intense dislike for this Severus boy.
"Say, aren't you that Snape kid?" Sirius asked. Severus looked at Sirius before looking back out the window without a word.
"I believe my friend asked you a question, Snivellus. And I advise you answer it."
"Leave him alone." Lily and Remus said at the same time. Sirius and James looked at each other again and sighed, leaving the matter alone. Peter cleared his throat.
"What House are you guys hoping to be in?" He asked in an attempt to clear the air.
"Gryffindor! Where the brave of heart dwell."
"And where the stupid reside." Severus muttered.
"Did anyone ask you, Snivellus?"
"You don't need to ask me, the little one here addressed all of us."
"No, I didn't." Peter contradicted. "I asked my friends, not the two random strangers who came into our compartment."
"Whatever." Severus rolled his eyes and went back to looking out of the window. "Me and Lily are going to be in Slytherin."
"You've decided that for her, I suppose." Sirius looked Severus up and down as he said this. "Typical."
"Besides, who'd want to be in Slytherin? They all suck."
"I can vouch for that." Sirius added. "My whole family's from Slytherin and they're all assholes. I'm gonna try break the mould, I'll see you in Gryffindor James."
"Brilliant. Mousey? What about you?"
"Probably Hufflepuff. I'm not brave, smart or sly enough to be in any of the other Houses."
"You don't need to be a rocket scientist to work that out." Severus muttered. James pulled out his wand.
"You wanna repeat that, Snivellus?"
"Please, like you can do any magic with that."
"He can't but I can." Remus snapped, putting his book down. "I could make onions grow out of your overly large nose if I wanted to. So don't test us. And on the topic of Houses, as long as I'm not in Slytherin, I don't care." Remus went back to reading his book and James glared at Severus, slowly putting his wand away.
"You don't scare me." Severus bit back.
"I can though." Remus looked at Severus over the top of his book. "Wanna know how I got these scars?" He indicated to two long scars running along the back of his hand in an x.
"Ugh, boys." Lily said, getting up and leaving.
"Lily." Severus whined, getting up and trying to follow her. James stuck his feet out and Severus tripped over them. Sirius and James laughed.
"See ya later, Snivellus!"
Myyyyyyyyyyyy intense hate for Snape is showing. I know he helped Harry in the end but he was still a slimey, creepy stalker. AND HE BULLIED STUDENTS! Okay, before I get into a rant about how bad Snape was, I'm gonna sign off.
Bye,
Blaize
