Chapter 13

"You got the Invisibility Cloak?" James grinned and pulled his cloak out of his satchel.

"Yep. And you?" Sirius opened his satchel with a flourish, showing James the tens of apples he managed to shove into it.

"If memory serves, and it does, when Cissy brought Lucius over, he had a strange obsession with apples."

"Why?" James asked, throwing his cloak around his shoulders as they reached a tree almost parallel to the exit from the greenhouses. Sirius shrugged and started climbing.

"Be damned if I know. But I always wanted to see what his face would look like if he was pelted with apples. And now, we'll know. And I know that Lucius and Cissy and Bella and everyone get an hour to relax after lessons before they have to do their O.W.Ls homework cause Bella was complaining about it at our lovely, compulsory family dinner."

"Sounds charming."

"Mhm. Well, you met her the first day here."

"Wow. She's... so nice."

"I know, right? Whatever, let's get into position." Sirius perched on a branch and opened his satchel. James sat next to him and threw the cloak over both of them. Unless you were directly under the tree and looking up, you wouldn't be able to tell two boys were sitting there.

"Apple please, Padfoot." James whispered, holding his hand out. Sirius grabbed two, keeping one for himself and giving one to James.

"Any second now, Prongs." He hissed. Throngs of people in Slytherin robes started pouring out of the greenhouses, talking loudly and laughing.

"Where's this Lucius guy?"

"He's got really stupid blonde hair. Thinks it looks good, it really doesn't. I'll point him out when we see him." Sirius kept his eyes trained on the people passing under him. He pointed at one boy with long blonde hair tied back and held in place with a snake clip. "There he is."

"Now?" Sirius nodded. "Now." Aiming carefully, James threw an apple under the cloak. It hit Lucius, just above his ear. His head whipped around and his grey eyes scanned the tree, glossing over where Sirius and James where huddled several times.

"Are you okay Lucius?" Narcissa asked, putting her hand on his arm. He looked back at her.

"Yes. I'm fine." Another apple hit his head. And another. And another. "Alright, who's doing that?" He growled, whipping out his wand and storming over to the tree, looking around. Another apple hit his head. He glared up but didn't see anything. Bonk. Another apple.

"Lucius?" Narcissa asked, nearly floating over to him. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong, Narcissa." Another apple hit his head. He growled. "Someone just keeps throwing apples at me, that's all. And whoever it is, I am going to hex them until they've got the mental power of a glass of butterbeer."

"Let's just go back to the Common Room." Narcissa suggested, taking his arm. "Come on."

"No." He shook his arm out of her grasp. "I'm not going inside until the culprit-" Another apple. He growled. "You know what, fine. Let's just go inside." If Lucius had looked up just then, he would've seen the tops of two heads with dark hair bobbing around before disappearing. Under the cloak, Sirius and James were shaking with silent laughter. When Lucius and Narcissa were inside, they both burst out laughing until James nearly fell out of the tree.

"Did you see his face?"

"That was priceless!" James lifted his glasses up and wiped away a fake tear. "Oh Merlin, that was fun."

"Go and tell Moony and Wormtail about it?"

"Definitely."

This was way too fun to write.
Bye,
Blaize
