azure was bored.

no, he wasn't bored for any kind of dumb reason. his mother was in a meeting in the sky kingdom with the other tribes' ambassadors at the moment, and he was forced to come along so he 'didn't get into trouble'.

he was, however, extraordinarily bored, and didn't have much to do while his mother was in the meeting. he decided he would explore, as the sky kingdom had much to offer in the way of landmarks.

he took to the sky, and flew in a random direction. as he flew, he saw many skywings in a range of oranges and reds, and even a few brown and yellow, though those were uncommon.

he came to a cliff where nobody else seemed to be, and sat down near the edge.

suddenly his ears pricked. he heard... crying?

he looked around the seemingly empty cliff, not seeing anything.

then he saw her.

she was a beautiful golden color, and her turquoise eyes shone with tears. she was gorgeous... but why was she crying??

he started toward her, wanting to comfort her. "hey-"

suddenly, he slipped on some water that he hadn't noticed before. he fell to the ground with a loud thud.

the skywing whirled around, surprised to see anyone in her little hiding place. at first she was stunned into silence; but then, she started giggling, which soon turned into full on laughter.

azure's face burned. he had never been so embarrassed! this gorgeous dragon was laughing at him!

"w-well, there's no need to laugh..." azure said, his face still quite red.

"but it was so funny!" the golden dragon replied.

"w-well, still!" azure said indignantly. "anyways, why were you crying?"

"o-oh, that? uhm, n-nothing..." the golden dragon said, trailing off her sentence while looking away.

"are you sure? you seemed pretty upset..." azure responded.

"if i say i'm fine, i'm fine, alright?" she snapped.

"okay, okay, i'm sorry. i just... wanted to make sure you were okay," azure said.

she looked at him in surprise, as if she wasn't expecting him to care.

"what's your name?" she said somewhat suspiciously.

"azure. and you are?" he said to her.

"i'm halo," she replied.

"that's a pretty name," azure said.

"th-thanks..." she seemed bashful now. she shook her head. "have you been to the sky kingdom before?"

"no, i'm here because my mom is the queen's royal advisor, and she's here in a meeting with all the other queens' advisors and ambassadors. it was so boring, so i left," he explained.

"sounds like it was. do you want me to show you around?" halo said.

"sure!" azure replied.

the two spent the next few hours exploring and playing tag, and by the end of the day, they were exhausted.

"that was fun!" halo said, still panting a bit from their last game of tag.

"yeah! i'd love to come here again," azure said.

"well, if you do, i wouldn't mind hanging out again," halo said to the seawing.

"o-oh. uhm, y-yeah, i-i'd love to hang out again..." azure said, suddenly shy.

"haha! you're so flustered, it's cute!" halo laughed.

that only made azure even more red.
