"Tired of being matched with incompatible chicks? Not emused by his jokes? You're owl by yourself? Tweet tweet! LoveBird Consulting lays the foundation to a wonderful tomorrow, always!"
The loudspeaker crackled ten beeps indicating it was time I responded to the caller, "Hello, LoveBird Consulting, Anna Vagrant speaking, how can I—"
"Can you believe I almost proposed to her?" Raucous breaths broke through the sweet melodies I'd been playing. I'd been leaning back on my red buttoned chair passing the time until my six o'clock appointment.
Ungracefully, I sat up, fumbling over the desk to redirect the call to my HD audio earpiece. In one swoop, I also pushed the button to draw down a visor intended to give the room privacy.
Two new high profile clients waited in the adjacent 'nesting' office area. Though I'm sure they'd already been disturbed by the racket which ricochetted off the glass windows and my wild movements.
"Just a moment, I'll be right with you..." I pressed out, a smile on my face, a naughty glint in my eye.
The purse under my desk held my white gold plated iPhone X. Although I'd been tempted to hang the phone up immediately, I needed to find out who'd been attempting to sabotage my company. It was the fifth time this week an insolent intruder call had come through but this time, the stunt would have the most tragic outcome for the artist, I vowed.
I positioned my phone to record the conversation remotely on a premium app: Dog 'Em Daily. Using the voice recognition program, I could bring them to justice.
"Press, 'Penthouse', on the elevator. I will validate your request to enter."
"Sure. But you'll pay for this..."
The call cut off as I'd already granted them access. As the intruder drew closer. I had to rethink my plan. They'd threatened me... and I'd let them in. There was no way of reversing this.
"Channing? Mr. Tatum and Ms. Dewan. I know you were here for marriage counselling? I've had an emergency come up that I need to deal with urgently."
Even if it meant I lost these clients, I'd be protecting my livelihood. I had five minutes to get this situation under control. With a few deliberatory words I convinced them to take the fire exit stairs down the next two flights to avoid a confrontational meeting with this elevator lunatic.
Seconds later, the elevator doors opened with a ping revealing Edwin Broody, an established business man in Ohio Quartering. He owned over eighty buildings in the city.
All except this one. Owned by your's truly.
His dishevelled appearance and creased button down was unlike him. Something was wrong. I'd hardly managed to take in his appearance before he'd announced, "She cheated on me. Angela... she was with another bird in our bed. You said she was perfect for me... you said the instincts were sure. My heartbeats symphony..."
I switched off the recording device.
Instincts told me to.

I'm already behind. Let's see if I can catch up...
A bit of background to this entry is that the names and places are all bird terminology. I tried to be in keeping with a bird theme as far as possible. Most adjectives included are actually. Enjoy :)
E.g swoop, quartering, vagrant, broody, "the instincts" are a birds way of mating for life.
