Because people still suck :)

Alright so firstly I was talking with my friend a few days ago and we were talking about Avatar ships, and I said I shipped Azula and Ty lee because think about it, they're a good ship. So after he finally conceded that I was correct, he then goes, "and Azula pegs Ty lee."

This (I don't think) was him being fetishizationy because I don't think he fetishizes lesbians and also I'm nearly certain he's aware if I knew he was fetishizing lesbians, I would yell at him for it. 

But what he was doing was 1) acting like the most important part of they relationship was who's top and bottom and 2) proceeding to very much unnecessarily sexualize tops and bottoms. Also they're fourteen???????

Like Ty Lee and Azula have actual good grounds for shipping, you don't need to be like OhHhHhH tHeY'd HaVe GoOd SeX. Do you know any good relationships based just for sex and nothing to do with personality in real life? No. If a ship is built mainly or solely off of sex, it's a bad ship.

And if you so so badly need to decide who the top and bottom is, can you at least not say it like that???????? Like that's just so unnecessarily sexual and really unnecessary on all levels.

And then also yesterday I discovered She by Dodie and like,,,, for any wlws here I definitely recommend if you want to be in your feels. Really for anyone alloromantic I think, but it gets a nice little extra bit of callout when you have internalized homophobia :)

So then I told Sam because why be sad alone when you can make someone else be sad and be sad together :) So we were listening to it and being sad and talking about girls, and then another friend we will call Dana texted a group chat we were both in that she was in, so Sam was like come listen to She by Dodie and cry with us.

Note the cry part. One can infer this song evoked some sort of the emotion, yes? And having emotions is a little bit of vulnerability, yes? And so what do we think would be a good thing to say if you know your friends are listening to a song and crying if you don't want to join them?

Well Dana thought a good think to say was "oh that song is for bottoms stinky"

How can a song even be for tops or bottoms???????? But so many people characterize songs or shows or sitting positions or ways of texting as for tops or bottoms or switches, and it makes no sense whatsoever and it's SO ANNOYING. 

Also hot take: people giving values to how top or bottom makes you and trying to act as "top" as possible is an adaptation of toxic masculinity
