Age: 17

Personality: At first glance, Dai seems to be a typical loner, distanced from the group. This might dissuade others from trying to socialize with them, which they think they don't mind. In reality, Dai is just like any other kid, wanting to make friends and have fun. Due to their quirk and subsequent upbringing, they've simply gotten into the bad habit of going through life alone. A compulsive worrier for others and what they think of Dai, they're a bit insecure. Even good friends, to who Dai is much more open, friendly, and generous, aren't immune to them asking if they're okay on a bi-hourly basis. They give more than they should, volunteering to help friends as if they feel indebted to them for the sole reason of giving Dai a chance.

Flaws: Way too used to isolating themselves, which leads to not asking for assistance when needed. Can seem uninterested in others, or can seem like they're constantly trying to escape from conversations by distancing themselves. Worries too much about others being affected by them and their quirk.

Strengths: Does well alone and when under pressure, able to keep focused on objectives, and able to keep emotions in check. Very determined to succeed no matter what and fortitudinous to a fault.

Weaknesses: A tad sickly with a weakened immune system. Tends to try and distance themselves physically from others on muscle memory, as well as distance themselves from others socially. Insecurity can be taken advantage of, as can their worrying.

Miscellaneous talents or skills worth noting: A great listener, proficient at self-management. Quite good at Origami, and a fast reader.

Background: Dai Xiaodan spent all of their life distanced. Even when born, they didn't get to experience the warmth of their parent's touch save for a few fleeting moments before a Geiger counter spiked and they were whisked away to an isolation room lined with lead, leaving them alone and setting then tone for a lot of their life. Until Dai gained control over their quirk, they couldn't hug their parents or roughhouse with their friends. Their mother couldn't bare any children after having a radioactive baby, so Dai grew up without any siblings. Despite this and the distance they had to maintain, Mr. and Mrs. Xiaodan fortunately tried their very bests to be there and bond with their child. While not experiencing much physical affection, thankfully Dai experienced plenty of emotional and verbal affection. Their life remained the same for a while, until they could control their radioactive aura and finally got to get closer to others. The damage was already done however, and Dai grew into an anxious self-doubting teen. Mrs. Xiaodan recognized this, and wishing only the best for her son, encouraged them to try their hand at being a hero. Knowing they had a confidence problem, they pushed themselves to get better and passed the entry exam to China's top hero school. Their experiences and the few friends they made pushed Dai to overcome their issues temporarily and exceed in their field, wielding their quick with finesse. Getting the letter upon returning home, however, immediately brought their doubts back to the surface, which Dai only barely managed to push down upon boarding a helicopter to their new 'school'.

Power Type: Mutation

Power Description: The user can create, shape, and manipulate radioactivity and its resulting decay, the process by which a nucleus of an unstable atom loses energy by emitting particles of ionizing radiation. A relatively short range quirk. I.e, a wall's atoms can steadily lose energy and cause said wall to decay at a rapid rate, eventually crumbling into rubble. [For RP's sake, this effect can be seen by the naked eye in the typical 'floaty green particles' way radiation is sometimes displayed.]

Power Drawbacks/Weaknesses: Constantly emits a weak  radioactive aura. With proper clothing/protection, safety precautions and social distancing, this is a non-issue. Dai's not entirely immune to radiation sickness, the symptoms of which can worsen with intense usage of the quirk. Can't stay close to others for extended periods. Can, of course, be exhausted when too much energy is used. May be over-charged/wounded if too much energy is used at once, over-charged meaning that their normal radioactive aura intensifies to a dangerous dosage of rads for themselves and for others. Needs constant control to avoid unnecessary destruction of their environment. To be entirely honest, Dai is incredibly lucky to have some sort of resistance to radiation, otherwise this Quirk would have killed him long ago.

Other: Upon extended usage of their quirk, Dai's skin can discolor and shift to a greener tone. Speaking of, Dai's whole body has scattered radiation scarring, primarily on their arms. They also suffer several symptoms of radiation-induced fibrosis, primarily skin induration and thickening in several large patches across their body. This *could* perhaps provide some sort of protection to edged weapons, but the difference is most likely miniscule.
