" pakad pakad pakad....himmat hai toh aa". A girl who just arrived on a station from train was screaming while running infront of a boy.

" abey rukk...ek toh 6 mahine baad ghar aati hai or fir bhagaati hai". The boy who was following her ran faster to catch her.

" its not your cup of tea my boy." The girl stopped and both stood there huffing and panting for breath.

The boy opened his arms and she ran to engulf him in a bone crushing embrace. It felt like a home coming to her.

" you know you smell awful right Sanyukta?" He commented crinkling his nose only to earn a smack from her.

" i am not a suited booted corporate like you Mr. Randhir Singh Shekhawat. I am an army girl and i love to play in mud so aadat daal lo." She said winking playfully at him.

He held her by her shoulders and both headed together towards her house.
Major Sanyukta Aggarwal was the head of the women army battilion. Every six months she came home to stay with her family for a month.

" did you get my all letters?" She asked him sitting in the car.

" yup my love. You know i always wait for them. They are the only one for me when you are away. I would rather not survive if you didn't send them someday. " he said cupping her cheeks and pecking her forehead. " leave these senti talks....kab tak ho?" He asked.

" me toh wahi 1 month if there is no tension at the border during this time." She said shrugging her shoulders and pinching his cheeks.

" owww!!! Yrr sanyu that hurts" he exclaimed rubbing his cheeks. " maa papa are at your house". He said concentrating on the road ahead.

She widened her eyes and looked at him.

" Rannuuu kya jo me soch ri hu vo sahi hai." She asked ever so dramatically.

" hanji major wo bilkul sahi hai. Humare rishte ke baare me baat ho rahi hai vahaa pe". He said with a smile plastered on his face.

"AAAAA!!!!" She shrieked ever so loudly making him stop his car with a sudden break.

" kya hua? Are you alright? Paagal hai kya?? Itti zor se kon chillata hai?" He huffed and started the engine again.

"Kuch ni.." She shied away.

" awww...humari i am the bravest sanyukta aggarwal ko blush karna bhi aata hai?"  He remarked playfully.

With these little little teasings they reached home. Sanyukta was still in her army uniform so she was a little bit hesitant to go inside. It was not like his parents were alien to her. Infact they would be the best in-laws anyone could have. She was just shuddering because of the fact they are here today to ask for her hand from her parents. Holding his hands she went inside and was welcomed by squeals from everybody as they saw their daughter fit and fine from the border. She wasn't allowed to go upstairs to get fresh rather was squeezed between both the families and a pandit.

" aap logon ke mutabik iss vivah ki isi maah ki taarekh agle 2 hafte ke baad ki hai...sabse shubh din saawan ke mahine ka". The pandit completed.

" rannu ki hone wali bahu ab tu ye ladaai waale kaam chhod de. Hume na jache hai ye sab. Vaise bhi humari ghar ki bahuein ghar me hi rehti hai. Renuka bolde ise. Isi shart pe humne manzoori di hai iss shaadi ke lie. ". Randhir's daadi spoke straight. Renuka looked at Sanyukta and then at Randhir apologetically.

" kal ko kuch ho jaye tumko toh life toh humare bete ki kharaab ho jayegi na". She again spat venom and now Randhir looked at his love apologetically giving a sad smile.

Sanyukta stood up and faced his grandmother folding her palms.
" daadi me aapki bahut respect karti hu par iska matlab ye nahi ki me apni responsibility se muh modh lu. I am very honoured ki aap ne mujhe apne pote ke laayak samjha or aap ye rishta leke aae par mujhe ye manzoor nahi hai. Agar kisine mujhe apnaana hai toh meri duty ke sath apnaye varna bye bye. Huhh!! And dad guess what i got a promotion. ". She said playfully hugging her dad and he smiled.

" i am an official pilot of Sukhoi fighter plane". She announced and her family jumped in joy.

" maaf kijiye behen ji par sanyu ko humne itna aage peeche hatne ke liye nahi bheja. ". Her dad spoke for her folding his palms and caressed her head in a way saying that he is proud of his daughter.

" chalo ji yahaa se. Humne socha samajhdaar log hain. Ladki hai kitna sir pe chadayenge. " His daadi got up and headed outside.

" daadi baat suniye". Randhir ran behind her.

His mother just shook her head and went out.
