I had a really strange day today at school

My friend shared with me and a few of my other friends something they had found on Instagram. Apparently, someone threatened to pull the fire alarm and shoot up the school at 10.

They were debating whether it was serious or joke and I took it as a joke went to school the next day.

I should have known something was off since a lot of people didn't even show up. But it was Wednesday, school starts later on Wednesdays, but as the day began a lot of people didn't even show up for school. That's when I was worried.

10 came around, and I watched the clock for the hole period, but nothing, so then I realized it was just a joke.

At Least until lunch.

I was playing a game outside with one of my few friends that actually showed up the school and the fire alarm went off. I just hear people screaming and see people running and I laughed, saying to my friend "Look at all those people running for their lives." But at the same time, I was horrified and my words came out as a garbled mess.

I see my friends packing his backpack and running away and that's when I thought it was serious, so I packed my backpack as well and followed him, unaware I was dropping some things out of it.

We got into a classroom that was crowded with people and I went through my backpack looking for my phone and realizing it was one of the things I dropped.

This was when I broke.

I was so scared that I was shaking but at the same time, I was laughing. I laugh during scary or sad moments and I can't help it. I was afraid I was going to die and couldn't contact my parents.

My friend showed me memes to comfort me and the principal came on the loudspeaker and told us that there was just a fire in te culinary arts classroom.

We were relived and went back outside and was looking for my phone and found some other stuff I dropped like my hotspot, my deodorant, and the ketchup packets I need for my lunch, but no phone and I actually thought my dad was gonna kill me.

Someone actually found it and gave it to me and I was relived, but still shaking. Like, I was so worried to the point I gave myself a headache, but I'm fine now.

What is wrong with America?
