Marinette's POV

Suddenly my mind clicks. It feels like I've come out of a fog, and everything is clear again. I wonder where I am, and the memories come rushing back to me. I found Luka.

And then I remember. Luka used his mind control on me to try and turn me into a vampire.

I gasp and sit up. I look around and realize I'm still on the Eiffel Tower. It's evening, and the storm is still raging on. I'm about to stand up when suddenly Chat Noir crashes and hits the ground right in front of me.

"Chat!" I scream.

Lightning strikes as he struggles to get up, but he's quickly back on his feet. He pulls his baton out and sprints towards Luka. Luka shoots a punch, but Chat dodges. I watch as Chat uses his baton as a bat, and slams the weapon at Luka's nose. Luka gasps and stumbles back.  Blood drips from his nose and his eyes water.

"Stay away from the Ladybug!" Chat yells, standing his ground.

"What Ladybug?" Luka scoffs.

Chat smiles, then turns around and throws something at me. I catch it and quickly look to see what he tossed. Sitting right in the palm of my hand a pair of earrings. My earrings. I rush to put them on and jump up. Tikki swirls around in the air. I smile.

"Tikki, spots on!"

A wall of pink light surrounds me and I transform. When I'm finished I instantly feel safer.

Luka gets up from the ground, holding his shoulder. "So what if it's two against one? I still have my akumatized power: brainwash!"

"So that's why you have it, yet Chat doesn't!" I state in shock, looking in his eyes.

"Bingo, and now you're going to hand me you're miraculous," he says, his eyes filling with power. "NOW."

Suddenly I feel my brain enter the fog again. I feel trapped; bound with a rope around my arms. My hands lift and start to take off my earrings. Panic rises in my chest. My body is moving on it's own!

"Not so fast!" Chat shouts. He slams his baton in Luka's stomach as thunder crashes in the background. Luka coughs out air collapses as the rain pours down on us.

And just like that, I'm back in control.

Chat looks at me with urgency. "Don't look into his eyes, that's how he brainwashes you!"

"How did you break the mind control then?!" I ask.

"Easy," he says, turning back at Luka. "Instead of making you break eye contact, I made him."

Luka growls and tackles Chat, splashing them in the puddles of water on the tower. Using his own weight, he pins Chat and grabs his hand, trying to get his miraculous. Not wasting another second, I sprint towards Luka.

"Lucky Charm!" I shout.

"Fuck," Luka mumbles, and jumps off Chat before I can reach him.

I sprint after Luka with my yo-yo spinning behind me, carefully avoiding his eye contact. I sling it out in an attempt to catch him, but I miss. He then grabs the yo-yo string and pulls me towards him. I'm yanked off my feet, and I fall into his arms. He then pulls me against his chest and holds his arm around my neck, holding me hostage over the edge of the Eiffel Tower. My feet dangle 900 feet above the ground. He reaches over and pulls out both my earrings, and I instantly de-transform.

"Marinette!" Chat screams.

I swiftly look over at my hand. It's still glowing pink from my lucky charm which means that I still have a chance of curing him from the akuma. I just have to be sneaky about it, or else Luka will realize I still have my power.

"You bastard!" Chat shouts, dashing towards me.

"Careful, alley cat! One more step and I'll kill your girl!" Luka shouts.

Chat Noir freezes. Lightning strikes, and the light illuminates Chat's face before he's swallowed in the darkness of the storm. I realize he's terrified.

"You wouldn't," Chat says, under his breath.

"Oh, but I would! That would mean one more vampire for us, because she still has my blood in her system!" Luka shouts with mania in his eyes. "Now, give me your miraculous!"

Chat freezes, but gives in. "Fine, but you have to let Mari go."

"You first," Luka growls.

"No!" I scream. "Chat Noir, don't listen to him!"

Chat inhales, and reluctantly pulls his ring off his finger. Dark light surrounds him and he's back in his civilian form. He holds the ring with his two fingers and tosses it to Luka.

"Now let her go," Adrien commands.

Luka snickers. "Alright, if you insist!"

Adrien then realizes what Luka is about to do, and his face goes white. "MARINETTE!"

I feel Luka's grip loosen up, and I realize he's going to let me fall. Without thinking, I quickly reach over and touch his chest. The pink light then surrounds Luka, curing him.

"YOU BITCH!" Luka screams, and drops me to the ground.

Chat Noir's POV
Thirty Seconds Earlier

Luka pounces on me, and my head hits the ground. He uses his body weight against me, and reaches over to grab my miraculous. Shit. I can't move, but if I don't do anything, he'll steal my miraculous!

"Lucky charm!"

Luka realizes that Ladybug pulled out the master weapon, and quickly jumps off me before she can get to him. I quickly get up to help her, but it's too late. Luka is holding her hostage over the edge of the tower. He quickly snatches her earrings and she de-transforms in front of me. Recklessly I dash over to attack, but he quickly stops me.

"Careful, alley cat!" He shouts, "One more step and I'll kill your girl!"

I freeze in place and feel my heart drop. Lightning strikes, and I look at Marinette. She's terrified.

"You wouldn't," I carefully say.

"Oh but I would!" The crazy vampire shouts. "That would mean one more vampire for us, because she still has my blood in her system! Now give me your miraculous!"

I feel my heart pound against my chest. Sweat beads drip down my forehead after all of that fighting. I feel a hole form in my stomach. That's when I realized I couldn't do anything except give the villain what he wanted.

"Fine, but you have to let Mari go!" I yell.

"You first!" He growls.

I reluctantly pull my ring off, ignoring Marinette's pleads to not listen to him. I furiously toss the ring to him, knowing that he's won.

I snarl. "Now let her go."

Luka snickers. "If you insist!"

That's when it hit me. He wasn't going to give Marinette back alive. He laughs and throws his head back.

"MARINETTE!" I scream, dashing toward the girl I loved.

Right as Luka loosed his grip, Marinette threw her arm around and touched his chest, and used her lucky charm. Pink light surrounded the evil vampire.

"YOU BITCH!" He screamed, and let go of her.

No. This isn't how it's going to end.

I break for Luka as he de-akumatized. The pink light swirls around his body and he collapses on the ground, letting go of my ring. I grab it, and jump off the tower. I feel the wind rush though my hair and the rain pour on my back as I slip the magical piece of metal on my finger.

"PLAGG, CLAWS OUT!" I shout as loud as I can.

Black light surrounds me, and I transform. I stretch my arm out and grab her arm to pull her close to me. She wraps her arms around my neck, and I use my baton to save us from the fall. The baton stretches out and slams against the cement, protecting us from cracking our skulls. We land with no more than a scratch.

We both lay down on the concrete, completely in shock about what just happened. The rain pours down on us. Our breaths slowly slow down, but only after several minutes. By then our clothes are completely soaked from the puddles we laid down in. Marinette turns on her side and puts her hand on my cheek, and I notice a single tear fall.

"I'm so, so sorry," she whispers.

"Me too," I reply. "I didn't mean anything I said."

"Can we just pretend like none of that happened..." Marinette mutters, "...and say we're still dating?"

I grab her cheek and kiss her. "Good idea."

I get up, than help Marinette get back on her feet. I reveal to her that I grabbed her earrings when I got my miraculous. She smiles and quickly puts them on. We both jump back up the tower. After Ladybug uses her Miraculous Ladybug, we go and check on Luka, who's soaking wet from the storm's rains.

"W-What happened?" Luka asks, terrified of the answer he already knows.

Ladybug helps him up and hugs him. Luka pauses, but then hugs her back. He squeezes her and cries, regretting everything that he's done. The rain in the background continues to pour, and thunder crashes across the Paris skies. Once Luka pulls away, Ladybug backs away and sadly smiles.

"Why'd you do it?" She asks, tears running down her cheeks.

He sighs and looks away. "I was kinda hoping that, you know, you would... fall in love with me."

Ladybug looks down and holds herself. "I'm so sorry you had to go through this alone."

Luka takes a step towards her, and tilts her head up. "I'm fine now, really. I realize how happy you are with Adrien and that's all I want. You're eyes sparkle when you see him. He's everything you wanted and more. I'm happy for you, and I'm not lying this time."

Ladybug nods with a smile.

"Hey, Luka," I interrupt. "Did Hawkmoth say anything about his identity? Are we any closer to ending this whole mess?"

Luka freezes, and his eyes fill with remembrance and regret.

"What, it can't be that bad," I joke. "So, do you know his identity?"

"Yeah," he answers with a heavy sigh. "I know who he is."

Ladybug and I both freeze. This mess could soon be all over. It could finally end.

"R-Really?!" Ladybug asks in shock.

"He told me about himself on accident. I... I know his identity," Luka answers, looking at me oddly.

"Who is it?!"" Ladybug anxiously asks.

Luka looks away.

"I don't know if I can tell you," He mutters.

I laugh. "You're seriously weirding me out. Just tell us already, Luka!"

"Are you sure?" Luka asks, looking at me dead in the eyes.

I nod, hesitantly waiting for the answer.

Thunder strikes. The rain pours hard outside the tower. I feel the humid air brush against my skin as I anxiously await for the answer. Why was Luka acting all weird about it? I'm sure if her just told us we could find the civilian and end this everlasting battle right now. I feel the rain drizzle against my face as I watch Luka's every move.

He closes his eyes and answers the question

and I don't believe him.

I feel my heart pound against my chest go faster and faster. My hands start to tremble. I fall backwards and shake my head. Tears start to fall down my face. No. This can't be true. Hawkmoth can't be my father.

Ladybug takes a step back and looks at Luka, terrified. "Hawkmoth is... Gabriel Agreste?!""

Luka hesitantly nods. "He told me himself. He even confirmed his son was Adrien."

I pull on my hair and shake my head.

"No," I say, my voice cracking from the pain. "You're wrong."

"Chat?" Ladybug asks, nervous. "Are you okay?"

Ladybug drops to the ground and hugs me, and I feel her tears drip onto my skin. She rubs my back to try and calm me down, but it doesn't work.

"Chat!"

My head pounds. My vision starts to blur and I feel dizzy. I start to hyperventilate. I can't stop shaking. He's wrong. He's wrong. He's wrong.

"CHAT!" She screams, scared. "Chat, answer me!"

I feel my hands go numb. My stomach starts to turn and I want to vomit.

"You're wrong, Luka," I mutter.

"Please, Chat Noir, I know this is a lot to handle, but try and breathe..." he whispers.

"You're not fucking listening," I say, my vision blurring.

Ladybug lets go of me and gets up.

Ladybug turns to Luka. "He's in denial. I'll take him to my place because he sure as hell not going to want to go to his place."

"Why aren't you listening?!" I scream, standing up. "My father isn't Hawkmoth! He isn't!"

"Oh, Chat..." Ladybug whispers, crying to herself.

"YOU'RE WRONG!" I scream, my voice cracking from choking on my tears. "YOU'RE FUCKING WRONG!"

Ladybug hugs me tight, and cries into my chest. "I'm so sorry, Chat. I'm so, so, so sorry."

I hug her back tightly. I sob, refusing to believe that my own father could do this to so many people. I grip on to Ladybug's shoulders and cry. This isn't fair. I don't deserve this. I don't want this. I can't handle this.

I wish I never was Chat Noir to begin with.
