Sixteen - Season 3, Episode 27
Marinette's POV
Ever since Adrien's disappearance, Luka I have been up in my room waiting to hear from him. After an hour pasts we start getting desperate.
"Our plan did include him coming back, right?" Luka sarcastically asks, scrolling though his phone.
I roll over on my bed and stuff my face into my pillow. I regret letting Adrien go. We really didn't think this through at all. There's so many ways this could go wrong and we can't do anything about it. I roll over on my back and hold my phone above my face. I press the call button for the tenth time this morning and wait for the voicemail. At this point, I know he won't answer, but calling him makes me feel at least a little bit better.
"Hey, it's Adrien! Please leave a message through my assistant."
The call hangs up and I groan. My phone slips out of my hands and hits my face. I yell and sit up in my bed, holding my nose. My eyes start to water. Ugh. This is not working. Where could he have gone?
"Mari?" Luka asks.
I turn and face him, still rubbing my nose. "Yeah?"
"I'm going to go transform and look for him. Something seriously bad could have happened. We really didn't even have a plan yet."
I nod. "Be careful, 'kay?"
He smiles. "Come on, Sass, let's go."
Sass waves by to Tikki and hops on Luka's shoulder. Luka transforms using the code words and slips out my window. I sigh and fall back into my bed. My pillows bounce up and my soft sheets swallow me whole. I groan feeling more nervous by the second. I hear my window open back up.
"Viperon? What's wrong?" I ask, sitting back up.
But it's not Viperon. It's Chat Noir.
"Marinette! How are you?!" the blond asks me.
I jump up and run to hug him."C-Chat Noir! Oh my god, forget about me, how are you?! You look.. different."
He hugs me back. We embrace for awhile, until he pulls away, and I notice his eyes are a dark red.
"Chat! When's the last time you ate?" I ask, concerned.
He looks at me with a blank face. "Two days ago, princess. Can I drink from you?"
I'm surprised, but maybe he's finally accepting that he's a vampire. "I mean, uh, sure I guess..."
I pull my hair to one side, but before I even tell him I'm ready, he jumps out to me and unleashes his vangs. They stab my neck and sink deep in. I gasp from surprise, but he continues to dig in my neck. The pain is almost unbearable. His vangs sink deeper and deeper, and I have to put a hand over my mouth to stop myself from screaming. I feel like I'm being shot over and over again. He viscously rips my skin apart, drinking up every drop of blood. I try and push away, but he continues to tear in my skin. Blood spills out and drips down my body. My vision starts to fade from the blood loss.
"Okay Chat, I think that's enough!" I yell, shaking from the pain.
He doesn't listen. He continues to tear into my neck.
"ADRIEN!" I scream, and try and push him away.
He falls backwards, but jumps back up and slams me into a wall. He puts his hand over my mouth and I feel his cold skin. I tremble from fear.
"Nobody tells me when to stop, honey," Chat Noir says coldly.
I slip to the ground and kick his feet under. He drops and his chin hits the ground. I roll him on his stomach and yank his arm behind him. I slam his head on the ground and use my body weight to keep him on the ground.
"Nobody except fucking me!"
He doesn't move.
"You never call me honey. What did you do now, Chat?!" I scream with blood dripping down my neck.
"Whatever do you mean, buggaboo?"
I grab his head and smash it into the ground. "Answer me, Chat Noir! Don't play this game with me!"
"I'm not Chat Noir anymore. I'm Chat Blanc."
I feel my heart drop in my chest. He got akumatized.
I slowly let go of him with my heart aching on the inside. "You will always be Chat Noir to me."
He sighs. "I never meant to hurt you. I apologize."
I try and stand up, but I stumble backwards. Chat catches me in his arms. I try to squirm out, but I'm to weak from blood loss.
"If you wanted my attention you didn't have to faint in my arms," he replies sarcastically. "That is a lot of blood, though. Sad to see it go to waste..."
My vision slowly starts to grow back. A numb feeling surrounds my body. I need help, and fast.
"Chat..." I squeeze out, exhausted. "Can... can vampire blood heal wounds?
Chat rolls his eyes and looks at me with a blank face. He sighs and bites his wrist. He then lowers his hand to my mouth. I feel the blood drip onto my tongue, and I swallow it. As soon as the blood enters my system, my vision immediately clears. My wounds heal up in seconds, and my headache is gone.
"You know I can kill you right now and you would be a vampire, right? An incurable vampire at that," he asks in a monotone voice.
I nod as I sit on my bedroom floor. "Yeah, but I trust you, Chat."
He tilts his head up and looks down on me. "I wouldn't if I were you. I came here to turn you into a vampire. That's my mission as Chat Blanc. I could kill you right now."
"But you won't."
"Yes I will!"
I cross my arms. "Even if you're Chat Blanc, you're still Adrien. You still love me."
"Tsk," Chat mumbles, and looks away in defeat.
I grab his hand and hold it to my chest. "How about you go back to Hawkmoth and you can say you turned me. Then he'll de-akumatize you."
"What does that mean? Akumatized?"
I sigh. "It means Hawkmoth has you under his control."
He shakes his head. "No, I'm not akumatized. I'm not under anyone's control."
I roll my eyes and laugh. "Whatever, Chat Noir. Anyways, I need you to go to Hawkmoth."
He looks away avoiding my eye-contact. "Could you... could you come with me?"
I feel my cheeks turn bright red. Even when he's Chat Blanc, he's still cute.
"I'll walk with you 'till about a street away from your house," I suggest.
He nods, and gets up holding my hand.
"Chat, you can let go now."
He shakes his head. "I don't want to."
I roll my eyes and bush. "Okay, let's go then."
Chat Blanc's POV
I can barely focus on what's happening. Everyone says I've been 'akumatized,' whatever that means, but I don't know why it's such a big deal. I don't think I've been akumatized. I remember this girl, Marinette, and I'm glad that she's nice. My whole world is cold right now, so it feels nice to have someone who's warm. I was supposed to turn her into a vampire or something like that, but I don't want to now.
I already feel bad enough almost killing her.
We continue to walk down the street. The sun beams down on us but I don't feel it. My whole world is frozen. I don't have any real feelings about anything right now. All I know is Marinette is scared so I need to protect her from whatever she's scared about.
"Hey Chat, are you okay?"
I nod. "Are you, princess?"
She looks at the ground. "Yeah, it's just everyone keeps looking at us. It makes me uncomfortable."
"Well, I used to be Chat Noir, who was a hero. It must be weird to see him walking around and in all white," I say in a monotone voice.
She looks at me with big eyes. "You're so different, Chat. You don't seem to care about anything or have any emotions. You talk about Chat Noir like he's a whole different person, even though he is you."
I shake my head, and flick the bell attached to my collar. "I'm not Chat Noir. I'm Chat Blanc."
She looks down at my bell and her face lights up, like she got an idea.
"What is it, Princess?" I ask, tilting my head.
"Oh, n-nothing! Nothing at all," she frantically spits out. "We're almost here at your father's mansion. Go talk to him and tell him I'm a vampire just like we rehearsed, okay?"
I nod, and let go of my princess's hand.
I walk up the steps of my father's mansion. The gate opens and I walk through the front doors. I notice Natalie looking at me in pure shock.
"What is it, Natalie?" I ask with a blank face.
She shakes her head and takes a step back. "Chat Noir... I mean Chat Blanc... you were Adrien all along?!"
I nod, and continue going up the stairs.
"You're just going to walk by with no explanation?!" She asks.
"What is there to explain? I'm Chat Blanc, and that's that. I am no longer Chat Noir," I state in a monotone voice.
"A-Are you akumatized?" She blurts
I ignore her. Why does everyone keep saying that? I continue to walk through the mansion. I press the pattern of buttons into my mom's portrait. She's warm too. After a minute, I ascend on the platform and enter Hawkmoth's lair. I walk up and greet him. The white butterflies scatter everywhere.
"Did you do it?" The dark silhouette asks.
I nod. "She should become a full fledged vampire in a day or two."
"I'm proud that you and I will work together from now on," Hawkmoth states.
"From now on?" I ask, confused. "I did my job."
"You did. But you will remain akumatized until we get our wish granted."
I feel something in my chest. I haven't had this feeling before.
"What do you mean akumatized? I am under my own control, right?"
"You're under my control now, Chat Blanc, so don't you dare argue with me! Obey me!" Hawkmoth shouts.
I stand guard. "How come you're the only one who calls me Chat Blanc? Everyone else calls me Chat Noir."
"Because you are my creation, my masterpiece!"
That feeling in my chest returns again. Maybe it's what Marinette told me about earlier: emotion. I feel like something is burning and boiling inside me. The inside of my chest then feels heavy and intense. I feel violent.
"I don't belong to anyone," I announce.
The man growls. "Yes, you do! You are my super villain, my akuma!"
"A super villain?" I ask.
"You are under my control, so don't try and change it!" Hawkmoth orders.
"I am not a super villain."
"You're Chat Blanc, of course you are! I made you a super villain! We will use the vampires to takeover and rule Paris together!"
I finally know the emotion I'm feeling: anger. 'How?!"
"You were what's called a dormant vampire. You've were turned into a vampire by another vampire, not by an akuma. Now, you're akuma, which is a vampire who I control. After the akumas turn other humans into dormant vampires, I will awaken the dormant vampires and they will become akumas."
"So what will happen to Luka? He's a dormant vampire!" I ask with concern.
"When the time is right, I will awaken him along with the many other dormant vampires in Paris. Then I will have a whole army of akumas to take over the city. Paris will soon become the city of the un-dead!" Hawkmoth evilly explains.
"Why?!" I scream, chocking on my words. "Why cause so much pain?"
"The miraculous holders would have to give up their miraculous in order for me to change the city back to how it was. That's my leverage. They'll be forced to give up their miraculous if they want to see their town again. Then I can make the wish to bring back Emilie."
I feel rage boil in my throat. "You know if you made that wish, there would be a terrible price to pay. Someone's life could be destroyed. What if I was the one who died? How would you feel then?!"
Hawkmoth looks away coldly. "As long as Emilie is back, I'll pay any price."
